I'm not able to finish the IR Lesson VOR approach. I don't get whatI'm supposed to do. The lesson starts with Rod telling me the situation.I am told to keep the auto pilot on. Where are to fly across PAINE VORand then turn to the course 340. I am tod to set the to 340 at the top of thedisplay. Then I mostly don't hear anything more from rod. I suppose he shouldtell me when and what to do. This does not happen. Also I am told to decrease altitude.How do I do that with the autopilot engaged?

Morning All,CFS2 seems to be ignoring the Cougar through DirectInput, but all other DirectInput sims are seeing (and functioning) with it fine.You can go into Settings > Calibration and the DirectInput test is working properly and the same assignment that's been used forever (that's still showing all the correct assignments) is being used.Any ideas? Anyone seen anything similar? I've reinstalled the program allowing it to overwrite existing files, reinstalled DX8.1 and re-flashed the Cougar's firmware with the latest version. No joy...Help! Not being very computer savy, I was wondering what settings you are running with the Radeon 9700 card. Such as in the 3D mode the anti-aliasing, antisotropic filtering, texture preference, mipmap detail level, and the wait for verticle sync-true form. also the open GL, whatever that is. I'm running a 2.8Mhz. Any help would be appreciated because when it comes to this stuff, I'm kinda lost.

Just wondering if anyone has a personal recommendation for a 3-engine panel (specifically something in line with an MD-11 or L-1011 or maybe even a DC-10). I used to use Steffan Ahlberg's panel for 98/2000, but it's a bit dated now - looking for something a bit more 'with the times'.Thanks,J

g'day all.I have come for some help , which has been bothering me for a very long time now and I just can't take it anymore!Basically, every now and then my sound decides to stutter, along with the comptuter. It only happens when a panel is in view, never in spot view for example.Most of the time it occurs when in site of cloud, or sometimes it just decides to do it!?I have tried deleting fs2002.cfg file, reducing/increasing graphics apeture, decreasing/increases sound accleration and quality but nothing is working?Any suggestions?

Maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but I can't find a description of the fs2002.cfg format. Anyone knows where to find one, i.e. a complete overview of all the tags and their functions in the config file ?thx, Dr.J

i've noticed several shots in the screenshot forum where the aircraft look absolutely wonderful. clean and crisp....no jagged lines anywhere. just last week i upgraded to a GeForce Ti4200 128mb card and have been playing around with settings trying to get it right. for the life of me, i still get some jagged edges on my aircraft. i found, and checked the "smooth textures" box...which DID help, but i'm still getting some jaggies.any suggestions on what to tweak next? i've got to believe that with the new card i should be able to eliminate these...thx!chris

I don't think my ActiveSky is downloading correctly. I have FSUIPC 2.92, and ActiveSky1.4. I am online, starting a flight, clearing my weather, running ActiveSky, and it just makes my visibility 1/16mi no matter where I am, although it is definitely recognizing stations immediately. Could it be a problem in my FSUIPC.ini file? I tried to attach a jpeg, but I don't know if I did it right.

Apologize in advance for such a basic question, but here goes....I've been flying the Archer II recently, and when creating flight plans in my local area, I've been routing my flight plan using VORs, ADFs, avoiding restricted airspace, etc. Half-hour to one hour max flight in local area.When I fly the planned flight (and see it programed into the gps), however, ATC never uses it. I would expect ATC to use the first part of my IFR plan, and then deviate as I near the destination airport to give vectors for the appropriate runway, but usually ATC takes me off on a completely different route.Perhaps my recent flights have been too short.....or perhaps FS2002 ATC simply ign…

Hi all, this is my first post here at avsim, Me and some mates are thinking of starting a new project, or brief, to make british built aircraft for fs2002. So, 2 things, a) Would people be interested in purchasing or downloading this sort of thing, it would be stuff like shorts, BAC, BAE, avro etc, from both old times and new. I installed everything per the instructions and all the clouds run great!However, when I installed the new Sky Color (via the shortcut after installation) and took a flight as soon as I got up to around 33,500 ft. the dark blue was below my aircraft and the lighter blue was above my aircraft :(I set up everything in the advanced weather exactly how the readme said to do it....ie, cirrus set to overcast above 35,000 and a stratus layer below 35,000 to help blend the sky colors. I setup the weather exactly the same way as the readme.How do I UNINSTALL the new sky colors and get the default sky color back BUT keep everything else (new clouds etc..)??Thanks!!!!!!BTW, AWESOME …

I'm am seriously considering an 18" LCD monitor to replace my current 17" CRT. The only serious gaming I do is with FS2002. Is anyone else running FS2002 with a LCD monitor? Comments both good and bad and any recommendations would be appreciated.
