I don't know what I am doing wrong. It has worked correctly for years and I know it is something simple.When I am flying my final approach and I catch the glideslope the plane drops below the guideslope and crashes. I am doing the same thing I have done for years, I think. I hit the guidelsope at the correct altitude, 2600 ft in this instance, the plane turn to the right and when the indicator starts to drop it nose dives and crashes. I am flying at 161 knots, flaps correct. I approach with in autopilot with heading, appr, altitude, and speed on. Always worked before. I have the frequency tuned into Nav 1 and Nav2, for what reason I don't know but I always have.If …

My friend is using FS2002 with Windows Home XP and for no apparent reason frequencies are not available anymore when clicking on any airport or Nav aid. We reinstalled FS2002 and still the same problem.Everything worked fine before. Any help out there ?

I wonder if anyone else has encountered this?During cruise, if I freeze the SIM with P or ESC, when I resume, quite often (but not always) the sound is distinctly different. I think I have been able to detect 4 different sounds. This is all from cockpit view.That's not all. When I do a start up, either manually or CTRL+E, sometimes I get the initial starter whine and sometimes not. Moreover, sometimes the starter whine will occur for one, or two, or three of the engines and just before posting this, I did a CTRL+E startup and got whine on engine 1 and 4 only.My system is an Athlon 1.33 Ghz, 256Mb RAM, SB Live Value, ASUS GeForce3 Ti200 (64Mb), Win98SE, DirectX 8.1. Hi,Speaking of jet-liner even not Heavy, is it common to use speed brake during descent? Or those jet planes are normally designed to reduce speed only with throttle at idle? Flight model in FS tends to be over-powered and hard to reduce speed without speed brake. I wonder if it is what it should be.Thank youYuki

Hi guys,I know this topic has been here already for a few times but I can't find a good message solving my problem. So I ask it again.When flying ie my Singapore 777. ATC starts talking to me about taxi clearence even before I can request delivery clearence to.... Then when I am ready for take off Atc cleares me for a VFR flight. But I want to fly IFR. After takeoff I don't hear anything more form ATC. I can hear aircrafts who are cleared to land but not me. Could someone please tell me why I don't get atc messges aafter take off and why i am VFR insted of IFR.ThanksHope I will hear from you soon.

I just wanted to let you folks know of a GREAT BOOK I just finished titled 'North Star Over My Shoulder' by Bob Buck. It is the biography of a TWA pilot who grew up with the airline industry, flying DC-2 and DC-3 aircraft in 1930 until he retired as a 747 captain. I have recently installed XP only to find that FS2002 suddenly shuts down with no error messages, usually very soon after starting it.I have re-installed FS2002 several times but to no avail.Any help would be appreciated

Is it possible to check your route of flight with the Map button on the ERJ? Also, is there any way to find out ETA or ETE using the plan button with MS routes?Lobaeux

I've gone and done something silly that I cannot undo :-roll. Yesterday I was test flying the deHavilland Turbine Otter (DHC3), and liked it so much that I decided to save it as the default flight. Problem is, I saved it with power on, and the GPS still showing my last flown route(s). Now anytime I start up at Ketchikan, the old route is still showing on the GPS. I know the simplest route (pun intended) to fix this is to delete the saved flight in question, but is there a more elegant fix? I would rather avoid the sledgehammer approach.

Hi,after I got my 2 engine prop quadrant I ended up with a lot of unused axis' in my home cockpit. So I wantd to assign the cowl flaps to them, only to learn that there is no directX command in FS2002 for them. Is there a way to do it anyway?Alex

I am about to do a 1,100NM cross country in the Commander 115TC and I will be flying for 4.5hours what altitude should I fly at?

All that have the overhead crashing problem...Mike Lister wrote me and said that he commented out the GPWS Test gauge and it fixed his crash!Recommend trying this...Open the panel.cfg in your Dash 7/Panel folder. Hi Tom,It's me again, I asked about the additional AVSIM gear a few days ago. I just got home from work and I was looking at some of the responses to a poll I posted a few weeks ago asking about peoples home airports in FS v. Real Life. The number of different countries that we come from inspired a thought for a slogan for a T-Shirt or Sweatshirt that would show the different countries that we come from or live in. Something like AVSIM members come from: (have the names of the different countries from your database plastered all over the Shirt. Maybe we could do another poll to show our actual native countries. I don't know just an idea....

For some strange reason the overhead panel does not appear for me in the cargo aircraft. There is a button on the bottom of the main panel which appears to be labelled "SWAP" or something like that. When I push that button, my hard drive seems to be looking for something and then FS2K2 displays an error message and I have to shutdown the program. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?The Dash 7 is a fine piece of work and is certainly one of my favorites!!Thanks for your help!Airbus

Hi AllIf you dont have gps how would you navigate to a fix point on a flight plan. If weather conditions were less than min VFR, would you only be able to depend ATC (if IFR file) to determine if you were on course? RegardsBobG

I am running Windows XP Pro, with an AMD 2200+ CPU and an ASUS V8420 video card.This is a "heads-up", should you ever want to swap to another account, while running the sim.FS2002 requires that you run as administrator, so it can have access to all the system resources that it wants.If I leave the sim running, say, parked at at airport with a view of buildings, and swap to another account, I will get a BSOD after swapping back to the Administrator account, and reactivating the sim.This has been repeatable with the sim parked at the Flight-Ontario's new YQT airport, and also at the MS-generic Meigs.
