Are you part of the 65,000 and counting that have downloaded the Fokker 70/100's? If you are not, then get out from under that rock, put your Cessna 172 away, and get some heavy iron!A big great tremendous Kudos to the creators of the Fokker 70/100's.When it comes to freeware quality, they have gone above and beyond! You would expect to pay for something this terrific, but you don't have to, it is free! The textures are right on the mark. I was comparing them to a book I have, and you couldn't get any closer if you tried. I have never flown one personally, but I have flown in one (US Air), and the flight dynamics are great....Great job, and thank you for supplying th…

THE GREAT SATIN of software has found some mercy in its heart and will finally end the agonising wait for DirectX 9 and is likely to release it tomorrow. With three betas and two release candidates version we saw slowly and surely that DirectX 9 is about to become a fully fledged bird that will help some companies live happier and release DirectX 9 drivers. The only currently shipping card(s) that support it are Radeon 9700 and 9500 Pros and Amateur, which many will find glistening under the Christmas tree. Nvidia did present its DirectX 9 supporter, Geforce FX but this card will be available no sooner than February in quantity.ATI will be the first to benefit from this, si…

I have noticed that some of the panels have very unstable speedometers. Usually it happens during he approach, and not on all of the panels. I susspect the problem is not with the panels, but perhaps with my computer. Can this be a case of starvation from processing power? Unfortunately I have rather mediocre computer by todays standards (P3 800 / 448 mB memory, 64 MB video). Target fps set to 15. Appreciate any help and advice. Ted

I downloaded and installed the nice Hong Kong scenery from the file library that was created by Thomas Kwong (vhhh_tk.zip) yesterday and installed it. It's very nice scenery, but I found that when I taxi'ed to the runway, the runway was hovering about 3 feet over the ground. I tried to drive onto it, but wound up running into the pavement edge and crashing :D Any suggestions on how to fix this situation?KP

I have used several game controllers with FS 2002 and seem to keep one problem. The thing is that my rudder keeps pulling the aircraft to one direction all the time. I used a Logitech Wing Man with twist rudder which was lockable but I kept getting that problem. I figured it was because of the difficult twist system which was very difficult to properly calibrate and even if locked it still kept shaking the rudder axis back and forth. I did disable the axis in FS but kept the problem. This is NOT a wind issue, I have tested this, so even in perfect conditions with no wind at all the plane gets pushed slightly to the right or left while taxiing. This is just slight and per…

The picture below was giving 7fps. I then remembered a tip to turn off AGP. Did so and now 11fps. It is not the actual fps but the percentage difference that is dramatic. Some may not be aware of the tip.Use RUN from the start menu and enter dxdiag. go to the page that allows enable/disable of AGP. Close and fly. I did not have to reload FS2002 to see the improvement.Dick

  17. I have no experience at all with commercial jets and wanted to try the Fokker Flight Example in the pdf Manual that comes with the Fokker 100/70 planes. However, I don't understand a reference in sections 4.1.12 and 4.1.13 at page 29 of the Manual. For example, in section 4.1.12, it says "At D4 SPL, turn left heading 300" degrees. I don't know what is meant by "D4 SPL." This type of "D* SPL" reference is used several other times in the course of the example flight to describe when you are to take certain actions. I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me what is meant by this reference. Thanks.

OK, I am going to go way out on a small limb here with this.I D/L'd the new Fokker and yes I love it. Very well done indeed. Actually I consider it to be exceptional. Now the but.How come we have not seen the same hype that this aircraft is getting compared to the Falcon 50 by Yannick Lavigne or the Dash 8 by Oleksiy Frolov. In my most lowly and humble opinion the latter two far exceed the new Fokker. The realism is very different. The Dash 8 for example can only be attempted by a serious simmer who wants true "as real as it gets". Since it's release I am still learning its many operational ways. I really feel like I am going through what a real world Dash 8 pilot must some…

I am posting this here as I see someone else has posted the same problem to the flight1 support forum some time ago and has not received a response. As detailed above I cannot hear any master caution warning sounds with the IK DC-9 only the warning lights work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as cross referencing everything with a friend who has the same aircraft and everything appears to be in order. My friend gets all kinds of buzzers and alarms with master cautions and I get nothing. I know of others that have the same problem.Anyone out there had and been able to sort the same problem?I have checked that my hardware is fully functional and there is …

OK, my first problem with this plane. I'm sitting here at Boston, trying to dial in 31000 feet in the Altitude window, but it will not reset to zero. It's at some odd flight level like 32654 and I can't get it to just go to plane ole 100 intervals (if that makes sense).Anything I can do to fix it, otherwize I'll be flying at an incorrect altitude on VATSIM.thanks!
