Hello,In low temperatures I must turn on the Pitot Heat to avoid freezing my instruments, but what should be the problem if I always leave it on ? Thanks,Ulisses

I hope you dont mind the OT post folks.I've spent far too long dreaming about it, so this year I've decided to (at last) start my PPL training here in the UK. (Glasgow, Scotland to be exact).I have a choice of some local flight schools and have narrowed the choice down to 2. I'm not sure which to go with and would appreciate any insight or advice from the many pilots I know frequent this forum.Choice 1 is a flying school based at Glasgow's regional airport. The airport is busy, landing fee's are higher and from what I know, light aircraft (understandably) very much take 2nd place to commercial traffic. Hello All,I tried to run EVP2.1 this morning and I keep getting the following error message. FYI, I've also installed the 2.2 version, and then went back to the 2.0 version thinking that might help. No dice. I have MS.netframework installed. I'm running Windows XP. I used EVP back in October to update Southwest callsigns, and haven't touched it since then. I decided to update some callsigns this morning and that's when the trouble began. In other words, the last time I used EVP it worked just fine. After I installed a jet engine sound package (rxpjetlinersound), I get no sound inside the cockpit on the deafult jets plus whatever add-ons use the default sound. Jet sound is OK outside of the aircraft. Sound is OK inside and outside with the Dreamfleet 737.Any ideas what to do ?P.S., being a "dumb bunny" I did not back up the default engine sounds before installing the rxp package.

Is there a gauge for FS2002 that will have co-pilot call out V1, rotate, and V2? I know the numbers would depend on the aircraft, the takeoff weight, and the departure field elevation, but perhaps these numbers could be entered manually before every flight. Due to the good help from this forum (Thanks rgerdes1) I have my recently downloaded Fred Banting Beaver 7 package running with all the guages installed. One more problem: At the runway, when I start, as the engine comes on, it runs up to around 1800 RPM, and will never go below that. I can fly as long as I don't throttle back. (This makes it hard to land even for an old tail dragger pilot). Can anyone steer this Newby in the right direction. I am sure that it is a .cfg problem, but that is as far as I can go. Thanks

Hi all,I have d/l and installed the new B737-800 panel from today's Avsim main page. (file name 738v2ai by Tom Dennis)The panel was installed in a FFG Boeing BBJ, which originally had the default 777 panel.Whenever I selected this airplane with the new 738 panel, FS2002 would crash to desktop. With the original default panel everything works fine.-I have swapped the panels back and forth to confirm that the fault is with the new panel.Does anyone else have a similar experience or better yet, know about a fix?Thank you all for any help.

Hi all, I'm using the 41.80 drivers with WinXp because they are Dx9 compatible. Does anyone know if the 42.01 drivers are also Dx9 compatible?Also, what exactly do they mean when they say these drivers are Dx9 compatible?Thanx, dek

I want to add more options for landing at KDFW but the only file worth downloading uses overlays (actually the KMEM is the same way). What is the procedure for installing these .txt files??? I know how to replace an existing facilities data file with a new overlay but I have no idea of what to do when six overlays are offered in one file. Thanks for any help on this....

I know that when you press enter and the shift keys you can raise the pilots seat. But after you get the seat adjusted to the height you want is there a way of locking it so if you switch views to like the spot view, then go back to the cockpit view the seat will be the same height you set it at?

Why does the engine sound go up in frequency when rpm goes down after adjusting the propellers? It should go down as the gauges does. Is there a fix?Keep'em flyin'!Bertil PerssonESPC Fr

I have have just installed an old scenery area of Manchester Airport man2001 i think the zip was and an associated afcad file to go with it, however some areas of the aprons and taxiways do not appear to function correctly, ie the ground is very rough. can anyone help? I had a rather bad experience on a high speed taxiway when my nose gear collapsed!!

But now I get 'Runtime Error 76; Path Not Found'. Is there any way to repair this problem. I reinstalled FS2002 into the same directory it used to be in. I have searched the registry for all the entries for TaxiSpeed and FS2002 and can not find anything that looks incorrect.Thanks in advance for any help.Bob

I finally figured out how to work around the centering problem of the CH ProPedals USB under Windows XP.For those that maybe missed the previous posts or don't remember, there is a problem with the specific pedals that seem to be off center when physically centered. This problem occurs only with Windows XP, but not for everybody (!?), and ONLY for the specific piece of hardware. The USB yokes or Joysticks work fine!Anyway, I am 100% certain that this is a problem of the CH Windows XP drivers. This solution I'm proposing should be considered TEMPORARY until CH releases the proper and corrected drivers. The problem REMAINS and CAN be detected in the control panel of Win…

I've been reading about the new "Advanced Simulated Radar Client"and i was pretty much amazed by this one.. it would defentely change the way "we connect" on vatsim.my question is would you think vatsim would go payware (pay per entery or even users have to subscribe in order to fly at vatsim)What do you think ?
