I'm interested in getting another payware airtcaft. I would like one that would be fun for cross country flying as well as a long "around the world" flight later on.I have the DF737, Flight1 Iron Knuckles, the "Clipper", and the Flight1 C421.I don't have the Archer, the DF Cardinal, or the FSD Seneca (or was it a Seminole?).What do all of you think?Thanks to all who respond!Shane

I need some advice on replacing the graphics card in my FS2002 PC. I am replacing a GeForce2 GTS with an Asus GeForce4 Ti4200 on a Windows 98SE system, and I am wondering:Should I switch Windows to its VGA video driver before shutting down to replace the card?Should I install the new video drivers when Windows starts and recognizes that there is new hardware, or should I bypass the startup screen and install the video drivers after Windows has loaded?Can I continue to use DirectX 8.1, and do I need to reinstall it?Should I install the Asus video drivers, or install drivers from the nVidia Web site?Are there any fs2002 configuration changes or video driver property change…

longer/wider?...I live in a northern community in Manitoba, Canada which is equiped with a 3000ft gravel strip that is used primairily for medivacs and the occasional Manitoba hydro exec. It is not uncommon to see small jets and turbo props landing and taking off here.The problem I have with FS is that many of these strips are way too short to land even my twin otter, which is definetely a STOL aircraft, let alone a jet. Our runway here is also about 100ft wide - lots of room to turn an a/c around at the end of the strip.Is it possible/or has someone figured out a way to make some of these strips a little wider and longer; a bit more realistic? Have any of you noticed a ineffective rudder problem with 'nearly all' the big jets on FS2002?Although the rudder indicator is going from full-left to full-right positions (IE the joystick is not at fault), it seems uneffective, "especially" upon landing.Try touching down with a cross wind on the main gear, then straightening the nose with the rudder before lowering the nosewheel onto the runway. Most of the time it will end in a go-around cause you cannot swing the nose round!I have even tried using the FS Aircraft editer. Anyone actually passed the ATPL check-ride in fs2002 on the 737-400? Every time I do the hold I'm told I've flown outside the hold airspace. I've maintained speed and altitude, entered the hold in the proper manner and I still get a fail.

I like the simplicity of the included logbook in FS2002, there are just two things I'd like to change.One would be more space for description and the other would be the ability to see how many hours I have with a specific type of aircraft.I don't like some logbook that I have to remember to start before or after I fly and/or where I have to manually input the flight time, it should work just the same as the original that comes up after closing the sim and only asks for a description with the time and aircraft already there.Also if possible I should be able to import my flight time I already have logged, but this wouldn't be very important.If freeware, it would be fantasti…

I have flown the private pilot checkride many times and have done everything correctly up the the point of landing at Tacoma. The instructor tells me to turn to 180 for the downwind, I do that and then no other commands are given. I have tried to just do a standard landing and nothing happens. Is there a glitch somewhere and this lesson just is not capable of being completed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I managed to get all the certificates in FS2000 Professional, well now that I have FS 2002 Professional I want to do the same.

I have started using the GoFlight radio and pushbutton panels and was wondering...I no longer need to display the radio stack in FS, which is pretty cool (the GoFlight stuff is really worth the money); however, there is no way to get the panels to display the DME information.Does anyone out there have a suggestion as to how I might get ahold of a stand-alone DME panel??Thanks in advanceJohn W.newburgh

I'm building a completely new 'UK English ATC' for those of us that miss UK ATC phraseology, a pretty big job as I'm sure we all want a number of 'voices'.I can remake some usage, such as using 'QNH' instead of 'altimeter', but I am coming up against a few difficulties with the existing 'ATC Tokens'.I would like to know if any changes to the existing 'tokens' can be made in the FS2k2 coding?A typical problem is changing the American use of the last 3 values of the callsign in token .In the UK we use the first and last two, so a callsign such as 'G-DAVE'is shortened to 'Golf-Victor Echo'.A Dutch plane also for instance becomes 4 values-'Papa Hotel-Victor Echo' as the code…

Hi AllToday I noticed that I have a problem altering my sound with the sliders in the options menu to the effect that they are doing nothing. My engines are too loud and I can hardly hear any of the other options despite turning the engine noise down and everything else up. Anyone else with the same problem or got a solution.Zack Laws

We need some sort of an add-in where you can specify (possibly by slewing) the NW and SE corners of an airport, then have the add-in take screenshots (just a screen capture works, I have something that will watch the clipboard for images) of every square inch bound by that square. Another thing that it would have to do is log into a text file the exact coordinates at the center of the screenshot. I really having a difficult time seeing the taxiway edge lights with FS2002 Pro. The green taxiway centerline lights at some of the airports are great, but the edge lights are very dim. Is there a way to get them brighter?

I sure could use some help on this one.I purchased a MSI 4200Ti 8x64meg card. When I went to install the driver on the CD that came with the card all seemed to go fine. When it finished loading the driver I got the message. (An error occurred during the installation of this device. The data is invalid.) I then downloaded the 41.09 driver from Nvidia and tried to install it, no luck I got the same message. I then reinstalled the gforce2 Leadtek card I was running and tried to install the 41.09 driver I had downloaded but I received the same message. I then put the CD that came with the Leadtek card and installed the driver on the CD. I was then able to update the driver to…

Okay, I'll make this easy. Mobo will support both, running an AMD 2400XP, not 333Mhz.Need to buy some memory, the PC2100 are being taken out of my computer to go into my son's computer.PC2700 or PC3200? AMD2400XP, Gigabyte GA-7VAXP mobo with three memory slots. One stick of 512 or two 256 sticks. How about Mushkin? A good brand?
