A couple of different programs, notably FSFA and FSHotseat use MS Speech, and I can't get it to work. I've downloaded, the Speech SDK 5.0 and 5.1, installed both and everytime I go to the control panel-speech, or a speech program itself I get errors. In the control panel, speech section, I get an error saying the engine can not be created. what does this mean? And then when I hit okay, I go to the 'other' tab and it tells me I've got SAPI 4.0 installed, but I don't. I go to the uninstall program section and it's not there, I click on the SAPI 4.0 tab and it just tells me there's a problem accessing the speech program. Some people have been complaining that many Fsim reviews are only ever positive . If you've already got one.. disregard this post.. but for dinosaurs like me.. here is real value for your next $20 or so.My kids had been pushing me to get a new "cool" mouse with the red glowing light, but not until I got one did I realize that I can turn all the knobs on the various aircraft panels, using the wheel on the mouse (!)No more clicking left on some gauges, left and right on others and searching for deviously hidden click spots! Just aim at the knob or the display and turn the mouse wheel.In addition, the optical mouse is a real improvement over my trusted MS "classic" mouse with the rubber ball.. so all in all, $24.95 (Canadian) well spent!

I am getting messages "Scenery library object not found" at very different places, i.e. also midair. It is very annoying to get these boxes for example during a difficult approach. As I have installed quite some add-on scenery over time it is difficult to isolate the cause.Two questions:[ul][li]Is there any way to trace the ID codes that come with the message back to the scenery causing the problem ( ID: 0xAAAAAAAA,0xBBBBBBBB,0xCCCCCCCC,0xDDDDDDDD)[li]Can I do some symptom fighing by disabling the message[/ul] Because of the amount of extra scenery and aurcraft installed I want to avoid uninstalling and re-installing FS as long as possible.Regards,Jan van Bekkum

Hi all,I have just upgraded my system and reinstalled FS2K2. The problem is that whilst the aircraft cockpits display just fine, the outside graphics are a mass of flickering shapes superimposed over the scenery.Does anybody have any idea what the problem is? Hello friends, I just wondering if it will increase my FPS, actually I have an P4 1.8GHZ, Board Intel, 256MB, Geforce3 128mb and WinXP, my FS2002 run very well, but I need more with no cost, so Im changing to Athlon XP2000+ and 512MB, without changing the video card, HD and operational system. I heard and read, that athlon processor is faster than pentium, off course considering the same level (e.g P4 1.5GHZ and Athlon XP1500 1,33GHZ. Bruno

Hey everyone,Ever since I installed NVIDIA's latest 41.09 drivers, (from the 38.XX drivers) I've had this issue where when I leave FS (in windowed mode) and have anything else, such as a folder, FS Flight Tracker, or FS Real Time, as the main window, when I return to FS, many of the textures are screwed up. For example (as in the picture below), the aircraft are all chrome, or have multi colored textures (I noticed it affects aircraft with Alpha channels more so). This affects trees and the scenery buildings in major cities and gives them that multicolored look. It also happens to certain ocean tiles. I have just upgraded my video card from a Asus GeForce 2 MX400 32 Mb ram toan ATI 9700 (non Pro) with 128 Mb of ram. I did this mainly to get higherframe rates in FS2002.As expected, the new card gave an impressive boost in Mad Onion 3D scores;from less than 3000 to 8500. Based on that I expected a decent boost inframerates (fluctuating between 7 fps - 14 fps with the old card).Disappointly, the framerate has only increased to a range between 12fps -17fps - and there is still some jerkiness in scenery with a lot of eyecandy. To get rid of the jerkiness I had to back off 1 "click" for most ofthe display settings in the FS2002 options!Is this what I should expect with t…

Anyone remember EFIS98 or NAVSTAR 99? I used both with FS98 and FS2000. Does anyone make something similar for 2002? It was great the way you could add a FMS to aircraft that didn't have an aviliable payware solution (PSS, PIC, DF, etc). I really miss them when flying the CSI MD-11's. That MS GPS just kills the whole feeling. Or has anyone ever had any luck with incorporating a payware FMS gauge into a freeware panel?

I used to have a link to a page where you could download the old "Tower" ATC simulator by BAO for free since it's no longer in production. Does anyone else out there still have this link? Also, are there any other freeware or disctontinued ATC products that one can download for free that are really worth it? "Tower" was the best one that I remember. Thanks for any help.
