Foremost, kudos to the designers of this aircraft. I primarily fly short hops and it compliments the Project Fokker aircraft nicely.I changed my sound.cfg lines in accordance with the readme file, but the engine noise is beyond loud. ATC becomes impossible to hear. Is there a solution in the aircraft's sound.cfg file? I'd rather not adjust volume settings each time I change aircraft.Thanks in advance,GlennWindsor, CANADA

Hi, I made several times instalations of the FS2002 and in the beginning beaches and sea come with waves, but after installing addons for FS waves turn into squares almost everywhere in every place which has water/sea. Someone has ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks, nuno

I have Paul Goldings MD-87 panel that I've using with the SGA md-80. I'm having a problem with the panel's autopilot, I can't get to engage the altitude hold and be able to enter a VS. Has someone done a patch for this wonderful panel or is there a panel that is just as good for fs2002. Thanks for your help.

Yesterday, in an attempt to get our MD80 finally released, we mistakenly uploaded the wrong .zip files. These files have the wrong readme files, wrong repaint policy, older model that uses the wrong textures, and a number of other mix-ups.We are currently in the process of uploading the new and proper .zip files. I'm working on an installer for aircraft repaints and scenery, and part of the installer is the ability to sense where the user has their FS2002 installed. In order for this to work properly, I need to know where to look in the registry to find that path. On my XP system, it's located atHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator8.0 in the ExePath key. Can those of you who are running another OS, especially Windows 98, ME and 2000 please let me know where their path to FS2002 is stored? I know MS has a habit of shifting this information around in the registries of various OSs, so I want to make sure and get it right.thanks a bunch,

You don't have to delete the bair.wav file file to solve the problem!Just go into sound.cfg and change max volume from an obviously wrong value (all other aircraft are at 8-10,000......) and type in 7-8000.....It's perfect then..... Yes, I finally got FS2002. I'm always a year behind each Fs version. Couldn't part with FS2000 and its wonderful ATC addon-Proflight 2000.Anyways, one thing I immediately noticed about the new sim is the poor lighting quality. Even in high summer, the scenery looks like it's a perpetual autumn sunset. There's no full summer dazzling brightness as in the FS2000 version.It looks very soft, but it feels that a dark lens is hovering the scenery, making it darker than in reality.Just wondering- any way to tweak the lighting levels?Eytan Ornstein

I just bought the RXP 530 and now I need a sporty single engine (or light twin) to put it in (until the F1 Meridian is out!).The MS Mooney is junk. I have been using Mike Stone's excellent Meridian but am looking for a plane with a VC. Iknow, I know..."search yourself you lazy bumb!". I am looking for charts, area/nav, IAP, airport charts ... to BUY or download for the smaller airports in French Polynesia. JEPPESEN publishes charts for alrports with >6000 foot runways, and they cover NTAA .. Papaete Faaaa, Rangiroa, Hao but not the smaller places like Bora Bora, Raitaea, Tubai .. etc ... and Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa in the Marquesas.FS NAV and MSFS Flt Pnr have the info sufficient to find my way to these places and do a downwind and land, but I would like the "paper" documents.Anyone have a pointer? Appreciate any help.

All my life I have been under the understanding that aircraft are ground steered with the rudder peddles. This has been reinforced by my RW Pilots license and the flying I've done in light aircraft. However, I have just discovered that the bigger planes are actually steered with a little "steering wheel" located to the left of the captain. At which stage in aircraft evolution does this steering responsibility change from the rudders to the "steering wheel" and why has this never been (to my knowlege anyway) replicated in MSFS?Darryl

Hey Gang!For those of you who have not yet noticed, we have the greatest MD-80 freeware addon for the flight simulation series out and available. These guys nailed this baby!!!! It flies superbly, it looks beautiful, and it is simply an amazing contribution. Thank you very much folks!!!!Now to the observations:1. The sounds are horrible!!! Once the aircraft passes 90 - 100kts, the air rushing sound totally messes up into static. I deleted the sounds and installed the default MD-80 sounds, so for me, this is not a big deal.2. I've compiled the results of Joseph29's great post after 23 messages. This was done for my own benefit, but I decided to share the results. I put this together because I thought there would be no better way to find the good ones, then from "The Guy's (and Gal's) that fly em'".Since I am not familiar with many of these aircraft packages, I may have some names wrong. Has anyone else experienced this? My Joystick, (Saitek Force 3D) works erratically or sometimes not at all when I'm in the panel view and I have Squawkbox running. FD AP and all autopilot functions work correctly but, for example, when I disconnect the AP to transition to manual flight on an ILS approach I have no control except in external and virtual views, thus I can't control the throttle or flare for touchdown. If I switch to an external or virtual cockpit view it works fine though. I have the latest FSUIP version and FS2002 Pro on Win 98SE, if that makes any difference. Hi everybody!Can someone help me please on an ATC problem?Maybe the answer is somewhere on the site wich I can't find and also this is my first post!.......So a bit lost!I mostly fly with ATC and real weather!.....When I'm at say 19000ft ATC will tell me that I'm at 300ft above assigned altitude!....Then I press the B key to see if I'm at right altitude, and I am!....So I have to descend at 18700ft to stay in contact with them!....Quite annoying isn't it?...........I often press the B key even within ATC's interventions to check my altitude!!!....Could that be the reason why???.....Did anybody have this problem????I'm using FS2002!Thank you for coop!Pharb!

Can any of you guys shed any light on the problems I'm having with engine sounds in FS. For example. Flying the Cessna 140 with the brilliant sounds by Mike Hambly/ Roeland Ludoph I'm getting crackles all the time :( The thing is all the other sounds are fine but the engine sounds. I've tried playing them in winamp and they all come across brilliantly, but soon as I try them in FS, rubbish! It's not just this set of sounds either, it's most if not all of them. Other wierd thing is it seems to be only the sounds associated with the 2d front view - if that makes any sense at all. Hey simmers, Has anyone flying the Fokker 100/70 encountered a heading hold difficulty where after the heading hold is initiated, the aircraft starts a momentary right turn of about 10 degrees? If so, what could be causing this and does anyone have a fix?Thanks!Ed Jenkins

I am sure this has been covered any times but I can't seem to find it anywhere, What exactly is the difference/advantage of buying FS2K2 Proffesional edition over the Standard edition other than the 4 additional A/C. When I use alt-tab to say set up weather maker, when I alt-tab back to FS whatever screen was there previous has now become permanent. That is to say the sim is still running, planes still flying but I've got a frozen picture of the last view I was using before alt-tabbing out. Only solution seems to be to shutdown FS and restart it - a right royal pain. Makes using external programs next to impossible, coz you can't go out to them, tweak a setting or two and return to the sim. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?Duke
