I am new to MS Flight Sim 2002, and I'm loving it! I would like to learn as much as I can about flying. So far I've read the ground school guild book and some of the ATC guild book, and I taken the flight lessons up to VOR navigation. The ground school helped me learn a lot about principals, but now I need to practice. I feel like I'm doing pretty good with slow flight, But I wish I could be more consistent with my landings. Even with no wind conditions, It's hard to be (graceful) each time. I would love to fly an ILS approach but I feel I should at least be able to land gracefully, consistently first. The interactive lessons are great, I just wish there were more of them…

I bought an Athlon XP 2500+ processor, an Abit KD7 motherboard, and a GeForce 4 Ti 4400. The processor is coming up as unknown in BIOS, and I've had to manually increase the clockspeed.I've got her cranked on up to around 1.8 GHz, and as high as 2.0...The 2500+ is supposed to have a clock speed of 1.83, but I'm getting a high voltage warning, by the hardware doctor. The computer will also periodically turn off suddenly. My guess is that I need more power. I called the place that I got the processor from, and they issued an RMA, and will send me a new one, but I have it running up to speed, but with a voltage warning...Do I need a new power supply, or is this CPU just …

All right,Now that I've read all the posts, including the post from Pete himself, let me share my perspective with all of you out there. I'll try to do this as lucidly as possible, so bear with me....May it be said that I have no personal experience with Pete, only the pleasure of using his utilities. I had FS2002 going well until I had a hard drive crash and had to put in a new HD. Everytime I try to load FS2002 it gets to about 22% and says "Setup failed to extract files from d:sound.cab" or it might be another cab file. It talks about low memory, but still happens after I do a cold boot. Am running Athlon XP1600; 256 DDR, 80g Western Digitial and XP Professional. Could anybody PLEASE help with this problem. For some reason, I can't seem to be able to tune nav 2. I know it's probably a quick setting but I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.ThanksDave

I am having a problem with my fuel tanks on any aircraft, payware or freeware.It would seem that they want to draw the fuel out of one of the tanks and one time. Then, of course, I run out of fuel, because it doesn't switch over.Is there a hotkey for this I should be aware of? Dear Sirs,Is there a repaint kit for the Project Airbus A300-600? I've been looking for an A300-600 in Monarch colours and I can't find a good one; they're are none for FS2002. Therefore, even though I'm a poor painter I thought I'd give it ago! Also, if anyone else would paint this livery up, not using ms paint, I'd really appreciated it.Best Regards,Paul

Hello all!Is there any small propeller aircrafts that is controlled by a stick instead of a yoke? Sorry about the dumb question, but i`m quite new to aviation, and want to learn to fly with a sidestick rather than with a yoke. Lago`s F16 and all the nice Airbuses is a good reason.:-)regards

Okay, got one here for everyone, and this has happened over the last several weeks, when FFX came out with there new 737/727, just like everyone else i ran over and downloaded it, thru it into FS2002 so to say, and started to fly, now here is the craxy thing, did the same thing with there MD80 series as well. Start the sim up, go thru the process of getting a flight ready and pic the FFX, before i even finish taxing to the active, FS2002 crashes, no warnings, no nothing, BAM!!! Just drops and thats it, no error messages afterwards or anything, now last night I went to do a flight with one of the FFG 737-800s and the same thing happened again.Question is, has anyone ever …

HiI'm currently using FSBuild 1.3.9 to do my IFR flightplanning. However, although a great program, i find the lack of a graphical map laying out my proposed route a bit limiting, especially when considering alternative routes. I'm aware that version 2.0 is supposed to be released soon but it seems to be continually put back. Can anyone recommend a good IFR flightplanner (freeware or payware) that can output the route to a map aswell as a text file or should i wait for FSBuild version 2.0 ?Thanks Gary

I mainly fly heavy jets in FS2002 and have found great models for all the planes i like, however i haven't really looked for new sounds yet and i am sick of the crappy generic default sounds!Below are the planes i usually fly:747-400777-200/300A330-300 ( using the Project Airbus A320 soundset, so not too bad.)I know there are loads of files in the library, but i was wondering if someone could recommend some good ones for the above planes.I am looking for something that isn't too quiet and whiny, I found some of those sounds almost too artificial and detatched from the visuals. Has anyone tried the Simflyers KEWR (Newark)demo? I did and the aircraft do not position themselves correctly at the gates or runways. I wrote Wolfgang and he gave me a file to put in FS2002 but it did not fix the problem. The AI planes takeoff on the grass not on the runways. The scenery is GREAT and the static and dynamic scenery is too. I'd buy the program if it ever was fixed. Thanks, regards to all, Bob.

Microsoft has a number of FS stations set up in their pavillion at Sun-n'-Fun this week and they are featuring the DC-3, the J-3, and the 747. They all have brief preset flights, and they demonstrate some of the new features. The DC-3 flies into a foggy, rainy cloud bank showcasing some of the new weather generation which is vey impressive. The J-3 flies through some hill and valley terrain which is very well done, and the 747 showcases some water (which I didn't get a close lok at but looked great from the air). Hi all Could anyone tell me what causes the breakup of add on scenery in Fs2002. Its hard to explain what happens and I cant post a screen shot as it so sporadic, its like lightning flashes of colours that flash down to the scenery when you are at or landing at addon airports, it does not do it with FS scenery and it never did it on my system untill I lost my hard drive and had to reload it all on to a new drive. My system is an AMD Athlon xp 2200+ with a geforce gts ultra 64 meg card with the 30-82 drivers and 512 of fast ram, any one any ideas could it be the drivers of the video card any help would be great and many thanks if you can help kind regards to all Mike

Did anyone else see this documentary last night on The Nature of Things with David Suzuki? It was a very interesting analysis and recreation of the suspected contributing factors to the tragedy. It provided some interesting insights into the nature of materials used in the construction of aircraft and the safety issues associated with these materials. There was also a debate on the safety cost analysis used by major carriers.No doubt it will be aired again at some point in the near future and it's definetly worth viewing. Adam

A few people are writing to the Falcon 50 team saying they are losing control of this aircraft at 200 knots. This will be a force feedback problem and we released a patch to fix this quite some time ago.The patch can be found at Avsim library. Regards,Rob Young

Hi all,First of all I just want to say what a gorgeous looking model this is. Couldn't believe how nice this puppy looked when I first loaded her up.Has any once else noticed the flight dynamics seem a little extreme? She handles nice in the air but tends to take off like a rocket. I've heard these planes are powerful but are they this powerful on take off?Please do not consider this a negative comment in anyway as I am flying this beauty all the time.
