  2. This is a new one for me.I note that my "J" key will not work in FS when I'm typing in an airport identifier in the flight plan screen. I don't use this key for any commands in FS, this is just as part of a word I'm trying to type in. As you can see, it works fine elsewhere (Notepad, the AVSIM forum, etc.)- just not in FS. The only change I've made is to install the Flight 1 C172 and C177 planes, and attempted to install the Morrabbin (sp?) approach adventure- which I later un-installed as I couldn't get it to work. That's since the last time I know it worked (I often use "KBJC" as my airport, as it's where I fly out of).Thanks- is there a file that I could check in F…

Hi, Anybody used this utility? I like the idea, but it bounces a lot. I think it uses the "yaw" feature, since the plane does tend to "drop" whenever you toggle between it and regular mode. I bought it a while back (FS2002 ver.), but it always makes the plane bounce while pushbacking. I tried pressing the "Y" key for yaw mode, and it does stop the bouncing, but I think it is not supposed to work that (it would be very sad if so). Can anybody help me on this one? Thanks in advance, regards,Max

hi guys, i thought i would pass along this info. for those who may not know. this setting may not be available in all BIOS's. (i strongly suggest visiting the following site before doing this because it could cause some problems if your video card does not support this option). go here... www.rojakpot.com click on "Adrians BIOS Optimization 7.5" go to the System Bus category and click on "Video Memory Cache Mode" for full details and warnings regarding this setting. i have an Asus P4T533-C with the "Award bios". (this is where it's found in mine, yours may be different) select the "advanded" tab, highlight "chip configuration", select (this is what you're looking for) "…

Hello!I use FSMaintenance for nearly all my flights. However, I have a slight problem. Whenever flying above FL180, I obviously set the altimeter to the standard 29.92. 18000 is also set as the transition altitude in the FSMaintenance black box settings. However, it still bugs me about having 'incorrect altimeter setting' and deducts major points from my pilot rating. How can I correct this??? Keep in mind I am using real weather with FSMETEO and also have FS Flight Keeper running in the background. Thanks for help,Marchttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Today I went to Best Buy and found a new Logitech stick. It's the Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick. It's absolutely great for MSFS. It has a twist stick (rudder) and 10....that's right...10 PROGRAMMABLE buttons. It has a small receiver which plugs into a USB port AFTER you install the software. It feels great and works CORDLESSLY up to 20 feet or so. It even comes with 3 AA batteries good for 50 hours of flying. The stick is super "contemporary" looking and feels awesome and extremely accurate. I'm putting away my MSFF2 stick for awhile and enjoying the lack of clutter, and smoothness of this new technology. If you don't like it....Best Buy has a pretty good return policy. I…

I occasionally goof up and fly into a building or even another aircraft. When this happens, my plane just hangs in the air for a few seconds before the filght resets.I seem to recall that there is an "explode" command which can be inserted somewhere to create a more realistic demise. Can anyone tell how to do this and what the name of the file to edit is?Thanks :)

Greetings!I enjoy flying the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Flight One) Avro Lancaster, but she's a bit "ticklish", especially on the elevator. What files should I change, and how, in order to make her behave a bit more sluggishly? What I mean is something like the behavior of Tom Gibson's newly upgraded Californian classic DC6B, now that one FEELS and STEERS like a four-engined lumbering monster! Is this something I can do myself?Be well!Jaap Verduijn.

  23. Hi, i've recently installed DirectX 9a (only because i thought it might improve my frame rates) and have not yet been able to use FS2002!!!:-fumeMy frame rates have dropped down below 7fps (i used to get 15-24) AND i get some flickering on the screen. I thought a problem might have been my video drivers, so i downloaded the latest driver from NVIDIA V43.45 which apparently supports my GeForce2 MX. Once installed (and removed old drivers) i tried MSFS02 again. This time not only were my frame rates low (this time 4fps), and screen flickered; Meigs field and my little Cessna were surrounded by HUGE triangles and squares and funny lines all over the place. I cant fly like th…

On the new gmax Commander, there is a Load Manager utility that has in it the ability to count the hours from the Hobbs Meter and account for required maintenance. It seems that for no reason, the counter gets reset on my system at random.I have tried flying the plane and then saving my position. Sometimes I go to the load manager and the hours are accounted for. Then I go back in Flight Sim and fly some more or maybe change to another airplane. After I fly somewhere else with a different plane, I go back to the load manager before switching to the Commander and the hours may or may not be reset. Is there something special I must do to make it keep an accurate count of…

Reloaded FS, then installed FSUIPC, as usual. Upon start-up of FS, I get a "3rd party software incompatability error" - citing traffic.dll as the culprit. FS fails to load - back to desktop. I searched my drive, found (2) traffic.dll files - one in the windows/systems/32 folder, the other is in the program files/MS Games/FS2002/modules folder. If I (temporarily) rename the traffic.dll in the FS2002 folder - FS loads up. If I rename the other traffic.dll, same error pops up.Have been using FSUIPC 2.96 without problem. Not sure why this error popping up on the reinstall of FS.Any advice ?Thanks.
