I'm looking for some programmers to help me develop some working demos of the NetPipes SDK, in VB and C. I've been reading the discussions regarding FSUIPC, and I got inspired to see if I could get NetPipes to work. If successful, I intend to release them as freeware. I found the example provided in the SDK needlessly complex, and I simply couldn't get it working. (More on that below). So I trimmed it down to something really simple, but am having some problems. My trimmed down demo runs as follows : (see attachments) - create the pipe - tell FS to start recording - capture the data for awhile (no interpreting yet) - tell FS to stop recordingThe problem I am having is …

Well I got my new system in yesterday and I am really surprised what a difference it makes!!! Here is the specs, it is a dell dim 4550 with a P4 2.53 ghz cpu, 512 ddr-sdram, 9700 pro video. I have everything on and all sliders maxed. with the df 737 at o'hare i get 25 fps locked all views(i am sure it is more but i locked it at 25) with the meljet 777(it has the pss panel and sounds) it still lock in at 25. The FL1 Meridian is the only one that drops the frames, which can lock in at 19 in all views. For me I will do some more tweaking with the card settings and Fs settings but coming from a P3 833 mhz it is a huge performance increase along with the smoothness and the way…

Hi guys!I don't know if anyone can help me, but I was wondering if there was a way to add more realistic wing lights to the fantastic Meljet 777. At the moment, when using ActiveCamera for a dusk/night wingview, you get an unrealistic big white "blob" light at the end of the wing. Any ideas ??Thanks in advance :-wave Jonny

A friend of mine purchased a brand new copy of FS2002Pro & cannot get it to install. The 1st & 2nd disc load fine, but disc 3 loads until it reaches 53%, & then the install freezes, right at a file named honalulu.cab. His OS is WindowsME if this helps. Incidently, I tried loading on my machine and it worked fine. (WindowsXP). If anyone else has had this problem please clue me in on what's wrong. :-hmmm

I am experiencing lock ups when using FS2002. This can occur after only a few minutes of use. After reading the forums I thought it might be a heat issue so I checked all of the fans in the computer and they are working ok.I then removed the side from my computer and blew cool air into the case but this did not solve the problem.I have completely formatted the computer and reinstalled windows but this has not helped. I then tried a replacement graphics card but no luck there.A short time ago, I did replace my memory stick because the old one gave up. The new one seems ok.System Spec- AMD Athlon 1.33, Windows 98 (1st ed), 256mb PC2100 DDR Ram, GeForce 3 Ti200, DirectX 8, As…

HiI still have it and it came with a great manual. Since it has a lot of useful info, I wanted to share it. I have a word document with a list of all the flights from the Career mode part. If anyone interested in that or other page, drop me a note.Regards

I have started to get an error when creating a new flight sayingFS2K2 was trying to open a non existing file FS2002Scenergy-j(I`ve put the nearest I can get to the actual file name specified)When I click on Ok I get another message telling me the file doesn`t exist and then loads the location I selected. On "default" airports it seems to load ok but on 3rd party airports it doesn`t always load correctly.I have uninstalled and re-installed FS2002 twice but I still get the error - my question is - can someone advise me how to delete the command thats asking for this non-exosting fileMany thanksGeorge

Hi guys,I'm hoping to convince you to re-enable the thread preview lines that have been turned off on the new system. While I realize some don't like them, I'm finding the new forum hard to visit because its taking too long to figure out what some threads are about, thus having to visit many more than I would normally have the time to. Unfortunately, I'm on dial-up while away on business as is often the case, so its become a burden the past couple days. Here are some examples of threads on the first page that I'm talking about:"Just don't know how???""Help""Video Cards...""What about VATSIM?"And thats just on the first page. Absolutely no disrespect to the authors of th…

I'm a newbie here but I've been flying in MSFS for a while. Please correct me if I'm wrong: Milton Shupe's Dash 7 is really great, but it can be stopped after landing in under two plane lengths. That requires autospoilers, prop reversers, standing on the breaks, full flaps to ensure you land at under 80 knts. It's impressive, but it seems a little bit unrealistic. The specs say it requires 380m of runway to land, but it only seems to need about 100m. Is the performance unrealistic or are the specs overstated? http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...acrp&DLID=22864

Project Magenta is getting very close to a great product with its upcoming GA IFR panel. Already I am seeing the need to expand my home cockpit with a few LCD monitors and an LCD projector. The next step, though, needs to be a separate program which could potentially display the actual FS gauges and animate them, and allow you to click and drag the gauges to customize your own setup and plane preferences. I finally installed Wideview specifically for this purpose but was disappointed to find out it doesn't support panels anymore. I would think the use of panels would be its strength (I use TrackIR so multiple monitors for the 3D view just don't add much for me, and the qu…

I thought I would ask this here in a more general forum for a broader response. I want to design scenery for my own use in FS2K2. Embedded macros, multiple elevations, roads, etc. Freeware or not is unimportant. I just want something that will do the job. I am a computer programmer by trade so the learning curve does not bother me ..... as I said, I just want the best product for designing my own part of the world! What are your suggestions?Dave

Silly question, FSI is a freeware online magazine that is a brand new freeware source for the community. Just curious why Avsim is the only site that has deleted an FSI post and not posted their news.Just curious not meaning to start anything. :-wave---Banners? A short note to report that after having gone to DX9a from DX8.1, that I am getting top performance from my 16 FPS limited FS2002. I was concerned with using DX9a at first after having seen (what I thought was) a slower rotational speed of the test cube spin. But, funny as this is, that aside, my FPS pretty much now stay at 15.8.I have no 'reasons' to offer as to why my FPS performance DID increase and maintain.I maintain and groom my files all the time, so that discounts that the mere 'new' install of the DX files prompted the performance boost. There is the big hullabaloo about whether ANY new version of DX beyond what the program originally called for would show any pe…

I have changed a couple of items on this wonderful package. First, I fixed the issue with the yoke appearing when switching to the landing panel if yoke is "on" the main panel when changing views. Second, I adjusted the views (height) for both panels without the forward main panel's view settings effecting the landing panel's view. The main panel sat to high compared to the horizon but adjusting it lower on the horizon meant that the landing panel would be to low on the horizon, but I have worked this out through the replacement switchover (hidden gauges for switching panels) gauges. There will be an official update version 1.1 out soon so hopefully you will see these fix…
