I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me.I have a PIV 1.8 system with a Ti4200 card and 512MB of RAM running Windows XP.Here's my question...When running FS2002 and taking a look at the Task Manager, it says that FS2002 is using almost 20MB "Mem Usage" and nearly 150MB of "VM Size". Is this normal? There are no other programs running (except the other standard services in the 'Processes" List). If the actual RAM is available, why wouldn't FS2002 be using it instead of virtual memory? I'm confused.Any and all help on this would be GREATLY apprecaited. Thanks very much!

The Fsim community needs to uncover who this person is. The only thing I know about him/her is that he/she is associated with the Convairs and "I think" did the FDEs for the Convairs. Now the flight dynamics of these aircraft are so good that he/she must have some deep inner understanding of Fsim flight dynamics that nobody else has. We need to uncover who he/she is and FORCE him/her to write us FDEs for all our other a/c. Barry

I have recently been reading the various threads regarding freeware vs. payware, in particular the discussions regarding FSUIPC.Certain sentiments expressed in these threads shock me. The almost viscous sense of entitlement by so many willing to contribute so little is staggering.Regardless of which side of the argument we may be on, this subject is a cancer that is tainting the community. It is a plague on both our houses.

Hi,I'm going to San Diego next month and flying out of KABE. First leg is to Dulles on a Jetstream 4100, then on to the heavy iron (Airbus 320 to San Diego). I've never flown on this plane in real life. How is it for comfort, safety, and overall enjoyable flight experience. I'm curious. Any real 4100 pilots out there. I'd love to have a GMAX version with all the eye candy for MSFS. Thanks, Stan

I've no doubt that this is the wrong forum for this post but this is the only home I know, and I need quick advice. Give me 5, moderators! I just went to reboot to fly my new MD902 and I got a DOS prompt saying:"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM"What is this file? An INI file? I've no way of checking as I'm shut out - this message is being typed on my Win98SE computer which, inevitably, has a different file structure. Aaargggh. What's more, I bought a bundled computer so I have no disks for Windows. Makes ya sick, dunnit? If anyone feels inclined to wing me the file (pleeeeeze, grovel grovel) then …

Hi,I have read conflicting reports on the functionality of clickable VC's in FS2004.I was under the impression that ANY VC (prehaps I should say Dynamic VC) that is present in FS2002 would transfer over to FS2004 AND be clickable. Is this correct, or not, could someone please tell us once and for all. Thanks in advanceDan.

Okay, all is well untill I start the engines then this odd beeping sound starts. It doesn't happen with any other FS plane, and happens using both IAE, or CFM varients. This beep reminds me of the sound from a default FS panel, after entering a freq into the NAV1/2. It usually lasts for about 5 seconds, and has 5-20 second intermissions for lack of a better word.Again, and help is always appreciated. Thank you :)Cory Klimko

Does anyone know if there's any repaints of the FFX 737-300 and -400 in KLM's old colours, or if there's a 737-400 in BA's old Landor livery?Cheers.

How do I extract specific data about how a person has performed a task such as landing. As part of a research project I need to measure exactly how a person has performed in attempting to fly the optimal glideslope/heading. I am looking for measures like: Root mean square error, the distance a person was off the optimal glideslope, deviation from touch town point, time to complete the task, time spent within a certain distance from optimal glideslope, and how often a deviation from an area around optimal glideslope occurred. Is it possible to strip this data off of Microsoft FS2002 or FS2000 (or other versions of MSFS) so that it can be statistically analyzed? Thank you.

How current is the AFD data in FS2004? Do they have new airports such as Inchon in Korea and numerous runway number changes since FS2002 was out? There were also a number of missing navaids.

I just read that airbuses need to step-climb to reach their flight altitude. I'm doing a flight where my altitude is fl350 but if I try to ascend straight to that my plane loses too much airspeed over fl300 and just crashes. So how do you do a step-climb where I can burn some fuel off before I ascend higheR?NOTE: I'm flying the posky a330-300 with 24000 gal of fuel

I was wondering if there was any way to keep the camera in one place after you have it set. I want a wing view of a specific aircraft and everytime i increase power the plane moves, but not the camera? Can you keep the camera moving with the aircraft, or is this not possible?
