Hi all, I'm being driven mad by trying to establish on a localiser using vor/loc button. the airport in question is LIEA in Sardinia-Italy, using ILS runway 20. I have set 204 for course, 110.15 Loc freq I am at the correct intercept altitude of 3000' (I'm sure that's what the chart is telling me), but the button won't light up. I can get the Glide path, {specifically) not glide slope (G/P is displayed not G/S) and I am unable to autoland. I tried flying the approach with and without VoxATC (and with vox vectoring me and full ils approach) to no avail. I'm using the PMDG 737 800 and have had a similar problem at Aberdeen (if I remember) but everywhere else is fin…

I have a couple of quick questions related to the Steam Edition version of FSX... 1. Is it possible to get rid of the on-screen messages - brakes, exits, zoom level etc (In FS9 there is an edited language.dll that kills these messages) 2. Is it possible to install AES in the Steam Edition? So far I've had no success 3. Where is the FSX.cfg file located? Thanks Ian

Hello guys .. I have some problem with AP while i'm flying. I use altitude hold,heading and speed hold but 5 minutes after take off throttle increases itself to full but speed hold is on 250. How can i fix this ?

I am contemplating buying fs passengers for the ambience of cabin announcments and passenger sounds. I am also contemplating buying MCE. Are the same features in MCE that are in FS Passengers? I don't care about the company fuel, food prices..etc. Please advise. I am going to get the MCE ultimate if I choose to get that one and then get either RC4 or VoxATC. What would be the best combination? I am wanting to be able to talk to ATC through my MIC. I know VoxATC does but I hear great things about RC4 and I am not sure if I can talk to ATC that way too. I know it says no voice integration but with MCE would it work?

If I buy MCE is it worth getting FS2crew?

Hi, I am wondering how you guys keep track of software updates. I have missed many important updates for the Lionheart Quest Kodiak, REX Overdrive & Essentials, Aerosoft A320/A321, Ezdok and much more. Most of the time I don't even know that there is an update. I keep a list of addons and would frequently google ______ update from the time I realised that there was an update for REX that came out 6 months ago. Most of the time I would google the updates but most of them just don't show up such as the Lionheart Quest Kodiak and the Aerosoft A320/A321. Hi, would like to know if you can have fsx loaded on a SSD, let's say in drive C and the same fsx in drive f, as a back up and as an alternative game for testing, etc. One shouldn't interfere with the other? ! thanks john

Hi guys, im new here. I wanted to learn a bit more abaut flying. I know how to put a cessna in the air, fly a pattern, landing etc but i dont know anything abaut navigation VOR/DME/ADF or meteorology/reading a metar/types of clouds. My goal is to fly more realistic. I mostly fly low and slow, but using the gps. I want to throw away it out of my plane Is the MS learning center good enough? Are there web sites you 'd recommend that are more "up to date"? Witch is the best way? Thanks in advance

Hello, I want to buy a small propeller aircraft but not sure which one. I've a lot of experience in jet aircraft like 737 but never have flown any small aircraft seriously, so I missed in my virtual flying career that what in pilot actually starts with, namely a small aircraft. ...and the click-spots are visible but don't work in both the Real Air Lancair & Real Air Duke. Worked the last time I tried it. Only change here has been me updating ASN to the latest. It's not a matter of having the eye-point too far aft; when I use the FSX view menu to open the 530, all I see is an empty picture frame (the Garmin/RXP bezel but with a see-through screen) and the buttons are dead (appear clickable, but they don't). I suspect it's related to the ASN update and the weirdness that's been reported with exe.xml, but my copy appears to be intact. Here's the scenario: I'm coming to the approach phase of my flight (commercial airline flight) and, low and behold, ATC assigns a different landing runway than what I originally entered in the FMC along with the STAR I entered. My question is: Are there freeware or payware apps that I can instantaneously access that will show me just the specific STARs available for the specific assigned runway. Most apps out there gives you a long list of STARs and it takes time to sort them to see which will take you to the assigned runway. Unless I "pause" the sim, I would already be within final before I figure out what STAR to use. Would appreciate suggestions please. By the wa…

After scanning my system, it looks like I have hundreds of duplicate AFCAD files, resulting from a mix of Ultimate Terrain (most current version of every region installed), MyTraffic 6, and various add on airports from FSDT, Imaginesim, FlyTampa, and others. While I have these files layered correctly in the scenery.cfg, with MyTraffic at the lowest priority, then Ultimate Terrain, then add on airports, does having these files cause a conflict? I've read that even with proper priority, it's necessary to disable all but the file in use at the highest priority. Is that the case?

One of the other threads mentioned the sound packs from Skysong Sound works. In looking at the site I noticed a pack for a Cessna 152 Aerobat. I'm aware of a couple of freeware versions, but is there a commerical release of the 152 Aerobat for FSX? Thanks,

Since I have reinstalled fsx, addon planes and sceneries some ext lights on planes and some airport lights have a square box around them. I am using Steeves dx10. Is there a simple fix for this? thanks Paul

Hey folks, in anticipation of the upcoming MU-2 from Flysimware, I was watching several MU-2 vids. One I came across was a landing and takeoff at MPTX(Porte de Paix) Haiti. I wanted to fly there in the MU-2 when it's released. The field is there in FSX, doesn't really resemble too much of the actual area. Tried using ADE to edit the default. Screwed things up. Got trees in the middle of the runway, etc. Reading the ADE manual, maybe get it figured out OK. At any rate, does anyone know of any scenery available that represents the MTPX airport and area. Hi all. I purchased the steam edition around a month ago. When i bought it, I did a complete Windows/FSX:SE reinstall as to get a completely virgin system. Everything seems to be ok except for 2 very annoying issues. 1: Once I press "Fly Now," it gets stuck loading at 6% for 2-3 minutes before continuing on and completely loading 2: I am getting very heavy lag when panning about the vc or in spot. When flying, it will pause to load new scenery. The lag will last for about 5 seconds, and then everything is smooth. Obviously, this is a scenery glitch somewhere. I have deactivated all addon scenery with no change. I have tried different bufferpools settings as well…

Hi All, I wanted to learn a bit more about crosswind landings, flying the default A321 and B737. I flew an approach with the AP on and the aircraft was pointed into the wind, the wind being a direct crosswind but only 8 knots. The problem is the wind cut out at about 1,000 feet above MSL. Tried to fix this by pushing Realism sliders to max which kept the wind going, but when I de-crabbed and landed the plane pulled into the wind a lot, ruining the landing! I know about weathercocking / weathervaning, but how could an 70 ton airliner flying at 150 knots (groundspeed) be pushed around by a light wind? The pulling into the wind only happens on the ground. My pmdg fmc will not let me select any STAR at OMDW airport, every one I select gives me an error in the fmc. anyone else get this

Hi, I have a lot of naval MAIW traffic and I have the USS Nimitz. Is it possible to modify my f18 squadrons to land, park and takeoff of these carriers or the default acceleration fsx carriers? If so, can someone explain to me in detail? I would like to have carrier battle groups along with ai naval traffic on them. How can I put AFCADS on carriers? I use AIfp3 and since carrirsin fsx are not counted as airports, I can't make it part of the flightplan for my AI naval traffic. So is this possible?Thanks.

After installed the LHC LearJet 24B, it looks like it erroneously created some folders in the wrong place. From my P3D root (Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2) I know have: terrain.3\Deserts\9892wtg8\November\PanelSounds with several sound files: LHC Sound Effects Master List.txt LHC_X2.gau LJ24B_Flaps.wav LJ24B_Flaps2.wave SND1.wav ... and many more .WAV files. I'm assuming these are from LHC given their names. So I guess my question is this really the intended location for these sound files? If not, what location should they reside in? Cheers, Rob.
