Took off in stormy weather this morning from the Maldives (MALE - VRMM) in a British Air 747 and flew above the stuff to 35,000 ft on the way to Thiruvananthapuram (VOTV). Great fun flight because of the weather, turbulence, lightning, and thunder. Really special because it was in a part of the world that I'll probably never get to visit. I Hit the ILS (RW 32) perfectly in extremely limited visibility. Nice little airport there. Decided to stay awhile. Hi Folks, I'm going to un-install FSX and re-install it again onto my pc but just wanted to ask few questions. 1) My pc is networked so will I need to un-install ASN & and both SimConnect Clients & FSX SP2 SDK and the install them again so FSX will connect correctly when using FSUIPC & WideFS? 2) Which is which out of the Client pc & Server pc as I'm never sure? 3) I've got my VAS usage numbers displayed on top left of FSX but can't remember how to get that to show up the numbers again once I've installed everything? 4) I read about installing any add on scenery into Country Folders so you only have active the necessary countries your f…

I have read over the extreme amounts of forums talking about the different types of biz jets are out there. I am between the Citation II from Carenado, Eaglesoft Citation X and Carenado H850XP. I have owned quite a few Carenado aircraft and the visuals are impecable. I am not sure about flight dynamics though with the turbo jets. Can anybody give some input on these aircraft that own them to give me an idea of which one to buy? Thank you.

So I've had this itch for a nice 744, and seeing as PMDG has V2 coming out "soon", is it worth the wait or is the iFly offering up to par? I love the in depth systems that PMDG provide, and have been known to spend a lot of time just exploring the cockpit without ever actually taking off. I am interested in everyone else's opinions.

Please excuse my ignorance. Been installing the new mesh. Have Europe installed no problem. Thought I would try NA (Canada) Downloaded the two parts to it. Unzipped Part 1 and installed into Addon Scenery no problem. But when I try to unzip Part 2, 7-zip tells me it cannot unzip to an archive. How do I add Part 2. Thanks! Bob Palmer

Anybody notice that if you take too much time to cut the engines, the GSX marshaller does the macarena dance while the macarena tune plays in the background? I'm thinking it's an easter egg by FSDT or else I'm having hallucinatory flashbacks to the 90's.

I have installed Flight1 Super 80 pro. It shows up in my programs and control panel. I checked sim objects in FSX but it is not showing up when I go to select my aircraft. It was there a few days ago but I have recently added about 8 different planes. Is there a possibility that isn't showing up because I have too many planes? I have no idea what happened. Help please

I have everything working great in FSX-SE, all of my usual scenery, aircraft and utility addons are in place and the sim looks fantastic. Memory handling is excellent, etc. The only problem is that I am experiencing longish pauses (1 to 3 seconds). This usually happens on takeoff, and when turning. I have done complete defrags of the hard drives, let FSX-SE rebuild the fsx.cfg, rebuilt the shaders, tried unlimited frames, limited frames, reducing sliders, etc. but nothing seems to fix the problem. Anyone else seeing this issue and if so have you been able to fix it?

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this - I noticed this when I tried to set up a SID from within Aivlasoft EFB: I fly regularly out of KFLL, and also subscribe to Navigraph FMS data. I also use PFPX as my flight planner and ASN for my weather. Planned a flight last night from KFLL to KJFK, and was assigned runway 10L for departure. Set up the entire route, and then imported it into EFB. When I went to set up my departure from KFLL, I got this error message in the Data Provider: WARNING! After completing the flight plan and choosing a gate to start (for ex gate 10 at yssy) it'll spawn me at a random spot at Sydney airport (or any other airport for that matter). I have no idea why it's doing that? When I go to change gates, my current gate comes up as "unknown". I'm using fscommander and simroutes.

I recently purchased cd's UTX Canada & UTX USA for fsx,,UTX Canada upgraded fine,but when I try to use the patch button for USA from 1.20b to 4.1, I get a message to reboot as windows is preventing the upgrade?have disabled securities & windows fire wall,& logged as administrator rebooted but Patch prep button wont activate,,my system is win 7 64 bit & apart from the upgrades both setup tools are working fine ,can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? The "compatibility" threads are so full of irrelevant comments and also pretty dated (pre-SP2) so please forgive these newbie questions but I truly have spent a lot of time searching for answers.. It seems there are four options for Addon AI 1. WoAI. Sadly, almost all FS9 files and although they seem to work fine, I keep getting various conflicts such as no VFR (GA) traffic, having to turn off aircraft shadows etc. I also suspect I'm getting some performance hits at busy hubs as well. Is there a reasonably easy fix? 2, My Traffic 6. I'm reluctant to get this as I've seen so many installation complaints. Also some of the models look pretty basic. Comments? 3. UT X. I a…

Hello guys! I have a 2 Saitek Throttle Quadrants, and I am using separate levers for each engine. However, I have noticed some problems with calibrating them. Which basicly means that when I will align the levers perfectly next to each other, there is a significant N1 difference between them. Tipcally 3 - 5%, and sometimes more. In the end I have to hold one lever little bit backwards in order to get a symethrical thrust. This is really annoying especially during taxi, where I have to compensate it with my pedals. When I am busy during taxi. Let's say... looking into the maps... it's annoying. And it's even worse when landing with PMDG 737. Even those few perc…

I know about changing widescreen from FALSE to TRUE. I have also moved the LOD from 4.5 to 5.5. Those would be personal preference tweaks. But what about HIGHMEMFIX? is that needed for FSX-SE? The sim already runs beautifully on my system, but us sim pilots are tweakers, so what else could, or should be done? Any advice would be amazing.

Has anyone tried either the Captain Sim or Milviz 737-200 in FSX-SE? If both work okay, does anyone have any feedback on one which might be better and why? Thanks Ian

Every time I launch FSX:SE (latest build) a window shows up saying "First time setup ... installing new SimConnect Libraries". I did run all three in the SDK but this windows shows up every time FSX is started. Is it always ... first time? How can I get rid of this window? Thanks

Hey I downloaded the Demo of the OpusFSX, and I've installed based on the procedures on the GettingStartedSinglePC Pdf. After that, I run FSX, and then Opus, but nothing happens, no change of weather, I don't even get any information on the Opus, so It doesn't seem at all that it is connected. Then I hit spy button, and it says that SIM is connected, but under that it says: SIM Air Folder = Unknown I have the FSX installed on Disk D:\, and tried the Opus installed on disk D:\ and C:\, and didn't work anyway. So I really don't know what do to more, I think, unfortunately, I'll quit trying to use OpusFSX :/ Thank you

I'm having a major problem with FSX changing the settings in my Standard.XML file in the Controls sub-folder. I change a setting using the FSX edit contols/buttons screen to accomadate EZDOK. I delete the key assignments for A and S and Shift A and Shift S for example and FSX replaces the original values the next time I start FSX. This is just 1 example. It does the same for other keys and oystick assignement I've changed to acomodate FS2CREW for example. I do use FUSIPC to get aroudn some of these issues but some of the assignments are not listed in FUSIOC such as Autofeather on/off which I need to assign to a key to start FS2CREW. Might anyone know why this is happ…

Does anyone know (and how) if it is possible to permanently mount the gps onto the VC dashboard like the Orbx Vicra Airtourer (I have seen pictures with a GPS 296 on it's VC dashboard). I know how to add it as a pop up panel, however I would like it on the VC permanently (if possible). Many thanks for any help. John

Does anyone here know how to undock a panel, and leave it docked as well? What I want, is to have the PFD and ND of the NGX in the virtual cockpit on my main big monitors, but also have them duplicated on a second monitor, so that I can see the displays within the VC on the big monitors when I'm in pilots-eye view, but when I'm hand flying and have changed the VC view, for example to do something on the overhead, I want them on the second monitor to glance at. I am guessing I can duplicate the entries in panel.cfg, giving them a different ident, so that when I open them from the menu the main panel stays docked, but I'm not 100% sure as I've never tried before. …

Hi guys, I have just owned a new computer to increase my expérience about fsx and the PMDG 773 ^_^ I find a tutorial or a guy which have the same config as mine to optimize my FPS as possible.I have this configuration: - I7 4790k 3,6GHz - Gtx 970 4Gb - 8Gb of DDR3 I want to use all of the following addons at the same time: - PMDG 777-300ER - Active Sky Next (for the weather) - REX (only for the clouds) - PrecipiteFX - EDzok - Sceneries - VAFS (not an addon but a track flight for my virtual airline) What fsx.cfg can i create or change to run properly all this beautiful addons ? I'm SUPER stoked about this one. I'm looking forward to this more than anything. Been checking the CLS website daily. It was supposed to be released Summer 2014. It's delayed, but, a few weeks ago they said they're doing final testing. I'm guessing it's going to be released any day now. I still fly the old CLS DC-10 in FS9 regularly. Pretty good external model with ancient graphics in the VC, but I just love this beautiful older lady. It handles beautifully for a "lite" model. Now that it's coming to FSX in HD, I just can't wait. Together with the TSS sound pack, I think this one is going to rock real hard! Who's getting this add on?
