Is there a hack that allows one to use another plane during the lessons? I doubt that it would work during the actual lessons, but at least during the free flight ones it should.

hi all, i have been looking for a british airways re-paint for the default 747. i couldnt find one and so i downloaded the opensky package, but then i got to thinking, does it fly well? i mean its not as if im used to the default 747 but i would like as realistic handling as possible for obvious reasons. has anyone any experience with this? cheers for the help,James

Hi AllJust a thought, how many people here just fly FS9 straight from the box. In other words no add ons, no extra planes, no extra meshes, etc The reason I ask this is because I have no addons at all, well apart from FS NAvigator which I don't use all that much anyway. I find my flying experiences really good, I haven't even reinstalled my VFR UK photo scenery yet.Ok I've done a couple of tweaks, and added new Nvidia drivers just for fps performance but to be honest I can't really see any difference. Ok so I beefed up my PC after Xmas and new ram and a chip. The point of all this is this, is there not a slim chance that all the add ons etc actually make FS9 worse or bett…

For some reason I have noticed on a few planes, there seem to be excessive wind affects in FS2004. This happens on the default Kingair 350, and an addon SAAB. The strange thing is that when I am moving (on the ground or in the air), the plane veers toward the source direction of the wind, not away from it. The problem doesn't, however seem to happen on a larger plane, say the MD-80, or B737. I am using FSUIPC (non-registered) as my only addon software. It happens prior to launching Squawkbox. This happens with just a small bit of cross wind, say 8kts, and the plane veers so hard, it is difficult to keep it on the runway. If I remove all wind, the plane taxis straig…

Hi,Any help on this appreciated:I first noticed a problem flying the default 737 over the Alps on an IFR flight to Nice. I get to a certain point and then FS2004 crashes to a black screen and I need to restart the program. Going back to a previous save, I retry and the same thing happens, again and again, at basically the same geographical position. The final time, desperate, I decide to slew through it, and it works - no crash.Having used FS2004 since October last year without a problem, I now get this problem all the time! Does any one know how much fuel the DC10 -30 uses the 1 st hour and how much every hour after? the 727-100 uses 12,000 pounds the 1st hour and 9,000 pounds every hour after the 767-300 on a 3 hour flight is close to aound 53,760 ponds.I have like the pmdy 737-700 capt sim 727 -pic 767 which are all real real good products but my 1.3 just don't cut it so i'm using some freeware to let up on frame rates till i get a 3plus gig and i'd like to know about this fuel thing----Thanks Louis cva2488 ml2488

so..........I decide to download a couple of planes last night, I'm always a bit worried about installing them but hey you have to learn.Anyway I downloaded a Concorde model and eacerly unzipped the file and what did I have but atd60 or something. A very nice plane but not what was advertised on the box. I also downloaded a Jamaica Aiways Dash very cool paint job but no damn sounds.I hate doing downloads, my advice is just stick with the default planes.Wycliffe

I notice that when I pull up to the gates at ATL in the default 737 or 747 (I have not tried others), it is far too high for the aircraft. Is there a fix for this, or do any of you have a solution?Thanks in advance!Robb

Has anyone noticed that the 737-300 has too much power? On take off using auto throttle that after take off I'm up to 250 before I can engage the autopilot and retract the flaps. Is there away to lower the power or does anyone have an .air file that fixes this?John

I see from the other thread that plenty of users are more than happy with Matt's charts, so there must be something wrong with my systems.If I try to view in my usual viewer, Irfanview, it reports that it cannot allocate memory. If I try to view within a normal IE window, I can watch parts of the chart being processed, built up and displayed, but on completion the window goes blank. Hi,I have refrained from getting the XP service pack due to hearing horror storys of poor frame rates etc, but have got the critical security updates.Now these new drivers say you need Service pack 1, do I need to finally get this service pack, or has anyone tried it without?.CheersDan.

Everytime I go to start FS2004, an error message pops up stating-"Your computer has run out of available memory. Flight Simulator will now exit. You may not have enough free space on your hard drive". I have done a disk cleanup to free up space and I still get the same message. Does anybody have any ideas on how to correct this problem. Hello.I using fs2004 with CH virtual pilot and pro pedals (game port), yesterday I bought CH flight sim yoke (USB) and pro pedals (USB), and I have little problem:When I sturtup the simulator, all OK I got the normal frame rate that I used to... but after 30min of flight (spicial with VATSIM) the FPS drop by 50% and eerytime I push the rudder or brakes the PFS drop by 75%!!! and back to 50% drop.I tried to fix tish bug with the solution of autogen bug... but this is not the problem, also I tried to bun a ney USB2 ports and nothing...maybe USB increas the normal memory leak of this simulator?I use:P4 2G 512K RAMGforce 2 grafic cardWINXPThanks alotTomer

I just downloaded the original ffx738fj.zip (FS2002) for the FFX 737-800 and the Delta livery (FS2004)for the FFX 737-800 and installed them.I have had the Dreamfleet/FFX merge with the recommended download for some time and wanted to add the Delta option. I also like to use the Dreamfleet Loadit feature, so convert all the 737's to the applicable 737-400 config and airfiles as applicable. All I am really interested in for the added liveries are the textures anyway. Thus far, I have never really noticed any jaggie problems, but this installation showed them extensively. HiI have mentioned this problem before, but it is worse. I have installed an Asus 9800XT G/card mainly to improve performance with FS2004. After running for around 15 minutes it freezes then crashes. Every time I reboot I get this error message:-'Computer restarted after an unexpected shutdown, Microfoft Windows detected a possible device failure.The driver for the display was unable to complete a drawing operation. Please check with the device manufacturer for a driver update.The display driver for RADEON 9800XT seams to be responsible for the system instability.'Does anyone have the answer to resolve my problem? I'm pretty new to FS9 so if this is a stupid question, please bare with me. I have FSGenesis 38m mesh and landclass and I see there are some sectionals available for download. This looks great, but it raises a question: To what extent can you use one of these charts and find they match the terrain? Do towns, rivers, mountains and hills that the map shows match what you would see in FS9? How useful are they for navigation?Any help appreciated.

Well I finally got a copy of FS2004 and after a couple of IFR flights, I can see that ATC interaction has improved significantly over FS2002. Being able to request altitude changes and alternate approaches certainly makes an IFR flight more realistic. However ...I still find that MS ATC will start vectoring you between 80 and 120 miles out ... very unrealistic in my experience (particularly in the northeast). Most often it's pilot nav to IAF or a STAR and vectors when you're 15-20 miles out.Is there any way to configure FS2004 to reduce the distance from the field that ATC will begin vectoring?Thanks!

Fellow pilots, I,m in the process of purchasing the PMDG 737NG which I understand to be the ultimate 737NG!(I believe thats a given)! But my question is concerning the 767 line! QUESTION= Which 767(any model)is more realistic, IFDG,s or Poskys? No question IMO they are both first rate reproductions, but the thing I notice is that the IFDG fuselage is "rounder" while the Posky fuselage is more "oval"! Thats quite noticeable! Which is CORRECT? Also what about flight dynamics,gear,etc.??? Please do not consider PIC,s 767 which is (as you all know) not compatible with FS9 until PICV2 is released! Hello all,Has anyone else noticed that there is a hill right next to the terminal building at KGFK? I live up here and wonder how the terrain got like that on default MS scenery (it's so flat up here :), but is there a way to fix it? I've heard of a flattening tool somewhere, anybody else?
