Hi all.I usually boot up the sim, then take the disc out so I don't forget later. Sim works fine.In there any gain to be had by leaving the disc in the drive until you've finished flying?I've had a shot at it, but didn't notice anything earth-shattering.Any thoughts?CheersTim

...of those developers who know how to provide real quality support.The IL2 FB patch has just been released - all 116MB of it!! My understanding is that this has been supplied virtually out of the blue and despite the fact that the first expansion pack is due out 18th February.Now, that's what I call caring customer support :)Is it too much to expect that lessons can be learned from the example of others? I managed to replace the COM2 radio in the FS2004 Maule with a NAVCOM2 radio -- in both 2d panels and the VC panel.I also managed to place a VOR2 gauge into the 2D panels -- but cannot place the gauge ( from the Cessna 182s) into the spare space on the VC panel. I think I might have read somewhere that this can't be done.Any ideas?Thanks Barry

Hello,I am wondering if other people have experienced the same problem as I did, or if I am just having bad luck.I registered on their site (in order to login)last thursday and never received an e-mail to activate my login parameters. I did send an e-mail two days ago and received no answer. I just sent another e-mail and will wait until to-morrow.I tried to re-register yesterday but got something like "e-mail address not valid". Maybe I'm on their black list, but then I do not understand... Greetings all.Recently I made the ill decision to upgrade my sound card to the Audigy 2 ZS series, and I love the performance improvement on my system. My old sound card would constantly crash the entire system in lockups (it was 4 years old - run down no doubt) and thus I upgraded.However I encountered a major issue with this upgrade. After the recent posts about megascenery I got my socal scenery out tonight-and was again blown away. Yes-it takes a good 5-6 minutes to initially load-but after that- wow! Guys, Im not normally a B767 fan, but having fired up these Sunny 767's found in the library, I must say I am extremely (extremely) impressed. Multiple models, highly accurate. I like the posky and other models available, but these are now my default. For the 767 series, I myself will be treating these like the FFX models for the 737 and DC10...simply the "go to" models to fly.its my hope that the repainters here will do more with these models. I know Shane Strong has produced some stuff in air canada livery. I think that folks like Steve Drabek and Hornit and others would do a great job on these suckers as well.Only issue with these is that I'd love to see some model…

Hi, The oceanfx created for fs2002 is not compatible at 100% for fs2004, the extended texture do not blend with the water in fs2004 have limited texture distance that's create blocky texture on higher altitude 30 000 feet and above, these have been made for fs2002, can works on some degress with fs2004 but not like default fs2004 water.You will notice in the screenshots how oceanfx water is limited in a x zone distance that's make square water, and see the default fs2004 water blend all overs the map with no square and no X zone.(I am not talking about the edge coastline square blending on both shot)The 3rd party oceantexture, the water will popup texture when the aircr…

What ever happened to Wilco Publishing's FS9 upgrade of its Airport 2002 Volume 1 series. This product had excellent textures but had missing or incorrect terminal details.I have placed a similar message on their support forum but it was completely ignored, so any help would be greatly appreciated...........Thanks DE

Anyone else come across the "V"-shaped depressions in Tanzania, Africa, almost due west of Dodoma(HTDO)? Location is about S6* 44.61' by E34* 3.46'. Anyone familiar with this area who knows if this is normal? I think its an anomaly and have made a 'fix'. If I thought there was enough interest, I would upload a copy to the Library.

In a month I'm ordering a new PC. I'm currently surviving on a old machine with 600mhz CPU and 128Ram - sad huh!Below are the specs I've been offered by the local shop for the budget I have - but I have another NZ$500/US$250 to spend if necessary (and can justify it to the higher authority). I've been using imagetool that I go here at AVSIM I think and I would like to know if I can use this to remove the MIP MAPS from all my FS planes? There is a funciton to extract them, but it has no effect like the NON-MIP MAPPED default tetures that someone did. Any suggestions?

I posted this on the Reality forum as well, but thought I would post here as well.The problem I am having is with selecting and activation a flight plan form the flight plan catalog. I have the same problem with the trainer as well.Here are my steps:(1) Fire up the Garmin (In the Flight One Piper Meridian, it is on)(2) After initialization, I press FPL. The 00 Flight Plan is displayed.(3) As per the instructions in the Garmin Manual, I click on the small right knob. The Flight Plan Catalog is displayed. So far so good. Hi,This is making me crazy. I fell I want to through my PC out of the window when it happens. I will try to make it simple. I was flying online using Sq box and had ATC on TeamSpeak. Eveything was going normal. Sudennly the PC started slowing down and any comapnd by the mouse or keyboard takes a few minutes beofre the PC responds. For example if I minimize a window, it would take at least 20 seconds to minimize.When this happenes, the CPU usage is 100% but the available physical memory is more than the systmen cache. The PC continues to be slow even if I closed all the FS and other programs. I have to restart in order for it to be back to normal. Please find following my …
