My question is simple:When MS came out, the highest CPU was under 3.0 and the graphics card was Ti4600.I'm all for tweaks but there has to be a point when we say, the software code is now crumand its time for MS to create a product that can be 100% maxmized given current but most importantly FUTURE technology (3.2, 3.4, 5.0 Ghz along with 6800 Video Cards etc.).Tim

I want to upgrade my terrain textures and see that I have many, many choices. I already have Justin Tyme's FsGenesis North America mesh installed. Any suggestions based on your experiences?Tnanks,Mark

I personally like to use USA roads for just the major roads, use traffic at high density, low road reflection and mercury vapor for the lighting type.I find in this way, I can still use freeways and highways as major landmarks, but it doesn't cause all the rural roads in my area to stick out like a sore thumb.Overall, though this is a great product, the best part about it, is it adds an immeasurable amount of detail to your area, regardless of where in the US you live. Well I finally broke down. Went to FSGenesis and bought up the store, well not really but 5 or 6 of the terrain add-ons and the US National Landclass. And of course the data for the carribean!!I don't know why but out of all the addons I buy I am especially excited by this purchase. Sorry for the redundancy, I'm sure, but I've had no problems w/ my acft until I tried to load the Posky 757-300 w/ a 3rd party panel, and 3rd party sounds w/ a result of "FSUIPC Acess Error...etc. etc." and a crash to Desktop. The good thing here is that XP is so kind as to ask me if I'd like to restart Fs9. The nerve. Anyway.. If somebody'd be so kind as to point me in the right direction, that would be superb. Guys,recently I installed UK Photorealistc Sceneries in FS9, and you know what: I didn't like them in FS9 as it was with FS2002. I realized then I got addicted to FS9 autogen.Also I ordered 2 USA Megascenery issues, and what can I expect? The same waste lands on the final or take off?FS9 Autogen has its own problems covered here (I got rid of the default.xml like many) but it finally isnpired me. I won't buy any textures/sceneries anymore if they don't live with FS Autogen (even if they are enhanced by highres meshes).OR: there is only one alternative which I can gladly accept are sceneries like LAGO'S Venice and Florence that blend together land textures and 3D objects. …

I haven't really used VCs very much and most I have tried have had some kind of deficiency. Not a complaint -- just an observation. BUT -- this new Antonov-14 (VC only) a/c has opened my eyes to the possibilities of the VC. Every switch is accessable - although a bit of magnification is neccesary at times.Barry

What's the best or most optimal way to find out the airports that are within, say 300nm, from a particular airport? Is there a tool, or web site, or something similar that would ease this search? If I could ask a computer, the question would be something like, Computer tell me how many "regional" airports are withing "300" nm from "KGSO"What's between quotes is just a sample. Dave Vega

Are both the FS9 default roads and the USA Roads visable or can the FS9 default roads be "turned off"? If FS9 roads can not be turned off, are the distracting?

I have been using FS9 for several months and in that time have manually reinstalled it (when Drive Image messes up!) with all my addons (no mean task), for one reason or another (usually related to Windows XP, not FS), three or four times. I have just done so again but now I get a message on start up that some gauges cannot be loaded - FS9 has always loaded and used them before with no problem, so they are certainly compatible. These include ATC-WHM.gau, which I had used as the basis of a little clickable panel I had created for all my aircraft panels, showing the numbers 0-9 and allowing me to respond to ATC by clicking whatever number, instead of reaching over to the …

Hi y'all,Debut post!I was running a non-precision GPS approach excercise in a Beech Baron from Computer Pilot magazine (May '04 issue), and I ran into a disparity between where my activated GPS approach flight plan wanted me to fly and the direction ATC wanted me to fly.This was at KPDX (Portland) after leaving the holding pattern. ATC had confirmed that I was planning on doing the GPS approach to 28L. But, while they were turning me one way, the GPS on autopilot was trying to steer me straight towards the Final Approach Fix. I'm getting an error when trying to download realtime weather saying "bad internet connection, check settings and configuration" or the like. This error message occurs instantaneously after selecting download real weather. There is no pause like it was pinging the site and checking connections.I also cannot download realtime weather for either AS2004 or FS Meteo, so the problem is probably the same. Active Sky give "unstable internet connection" error, and FSMeto gives "selected file not found" error. I've reinstalled all those programs, FS9, and deleted the FS9.cfg file and rebuilt it. I am really enjoying this complex panel. However I have one problem with the autopilot. If I start up the a/c with "ready to taxi" selected, I can do anything I want with the a/p. However, if I start up with the "cold dark cockpit" selected and then manually start up the aircaft, I cannot get the a/p to do anything. Can't even enter altitudes, headings, etc -- it is as though the gauge isn't working after I startup.Any ideas?Thanks Barry

I hate to badmouth payware, as usually it's my fault (firewall won't allow download, etc.). However, after ordering the VansAir B717 on Thursday 6/17, and with still no download link supplied (today is 6/19), and no response to repeated posts on their "forum" and an e-mail to their support, I'm wondering if I'll ever get the product I paid for. There appears to be multiple users having this issue on their forum, don't know if they are also here or not. I wouldn't mind waiting if I at least got some acknowledgment. Hi everyone,Does USA Roads increase the amount of time it takes for FS9 to load? This is what I don't like about Megascenery - you have to wait 5 minutes in some cases for all of the textures to load. Does USA Roads have this problem? Thanks.
