hi,i was curious if theres anyway to get the default atc to direct you (and ai traffic) to land and depart following published procedures, does anyone make files that do that? i know it can be done in online multiplayer, but i'm not quite up to that challenge i thinkthanks

Does anyone know if there has been an update scenery file(s) for KSAN to put the tower in the proper place? Or, at least on the correct side of the runway?Thanks!!!

Just a little curiosity here, as I am in the middle of a super-long flight, from Rio de Janeiro SBGL to Papeete NTAA, on a Varig MD-11 (IFDG/ALain Capt cockpit). The total flight time (takeoff-touchdown) is something like 14 hours and 45 minutes. I think this and a Chicago-Hong Kong that I did on a United 747-400 once are the longest flights I did "real time" in FS.PS: Whay I mean by "real time" is not that you sit in front of the computer screen for the entire duration of the flight, but simply that you do not increase the speed of simulation in FS.What are you ultra long flights?

Avsim friends - could you help me out please? :)Two issues regarding the excellent iFDG A320:____________________________________________________________________________Im having two problems slowing down & making a good descent.(a) On arrival at the top-of-descent (TOD) I find that I have to descend at 3500-4000FPM to arrive at the approach point at the correct altitude. I *know* this is excessive, but if I use a normal descent rate of 1500-2000FPM it takes a looooong time to get down and I will overshoot the airport. Hi all, sorry to bother you with this little thing but its really annoying me!the airport 0S9 has runways 9/27 but actually they follow 8/26 - can anyone confirm that this is true?also i tried changing the runway to 8/26 in afcad and the ATC uses the new numbers and the runways themselves have the new numbering system, but in the airport selection box it says the same for start location (9/27)any help would be greatly appreciated :)James

Hi everyone. I was wondering if it was possible to programmatically control an AI aircraft?I want to create a series of training profiles to demonstrate various TCAS scenarios. This would involve me saving a scenario with the airplane in the proper configuration, weather conditions, altitude, etc... After I do that, i'd also like to have AI airplane invade my airspace and have my TCAS come alive to specific parameters. Right now, the only way I can think of to make the TCAS do anything is to chase other airplanes around. Greetings all,I have been using the GF-MCP (GoFlight Autopilot) for some time now and while I find it to be an excellent addition to my flightsimming pleasure I have an annoying glitch on almost every flight.At a random point during the flight one set of numbers (eg, the altitude, or CRS, or Heading) will suddenly jump into very large figures (like it is some sort of spike) with the corresponding effect on the plane. Also tonight all the numbers and lit pushbuttons froze but I was still able to turn the knobs to have the corresponding effect on the plane, ie turned the heading knob and it turned but numbers did not change.I am using the latest version of the software from…

I'm starting to include AI military aircraft into my TTools and AFCAD work.Aside from Aardvark's DC-9C-9 and 757 types repainted into militarycolors, anyone aware of other types available as AI?Searches only reveal a few, and their AI compatibility is suspect.I'm looking for C-130s (Is Mike Stone's AI compatible?), KC-135s (Ditto Mike Stone), C-141s, C-5sI'm using Kovacevik's F-16 AI too. Megascenery recommends the following tweak to FS9.cfg: TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=1 [WAS 1242456]Can anyone explain to me what this represents? To change from 124256 to 1 seems like a huge difference. Why should this be necessary?Greg

ATC always seems to give the altimeter setting for QNH which gives altitude above sea level. Is there any way in FS9 to get QFE from ATC for a specific airport to get the height above that airport?

i wonder if anyone has any ideas on modifying the default atc, which vectors you in too soon, with no regard for published procedure. it seems to me as though the code would be simple, a series of if/thens i know code is never simple, but it doesnt seem all that difficult. something i'd be willing to try if anyone knows where to point me. maybe it can be developed for specific airports or something.while i appreciate that the default atc is good to learn with, i also would like to be able to fly the same routes, while under atc, as the last real flight i took. anyone else think this is possible or a good idea?

Hi,Ok, I am a little confused about FSscene textures, and the way in which they work.I notice that there are a number of packs for various regions in the world, and under each of those there are 4 packs for each season.Do you just install one pack at once, e.g. europe winter, and these textures show all round the world, and at any season, or do all the packs "co-exisist" with each other?CheersDan.

Hi all! I have a question or 2. Why are the edges on my aircraft and scenery jagged? And how can I fix this? I am getting great frame rates. I have them locked at 20. If I go to unlimited, the FPS are 50+. My system is this.... 2.4 P-4, 1 gig of RAM, Geforce 5500 256mb video card (current divers from Nvidia). The jagged edges are driving me crazy......The sim should LOOK a lot better than this. Thanks for any help.....Don:-cool

Where can I read about flying ILS in the Learjet? I do not even know on which gauge to look in this A/C. Nothing happens when I turn Nav1 on and off - but I can hear the correct Morse code of the transmitter. ILS works fine for me in other planes but not in the Learjet. Is there a handbook or something, that I can read?Roland

HiI have just landed at Athens airport and I have noticed (Shift W) that FS2004 was monitoring 35 yes 35!!! aircraft some parked ,some flying, some approaching and others taking off. Amazing !!! how this program monitors all these planes.Stelios

I read the thread on Lennart's textures.The problem was discussed how to keep their use limited to EuropeI managed to have them in Europe only in FS2K2. I had a landclass file for Europe in a scenery folder, and a complete set of FS textures together with Lennart's in the texture folder. I put them in a Scenery folder called EuropeLC+Texture and enabled it in the scenery settings. I used Burkhard Renk's LC fr this. This was how it worked. Would this still be possible in FS9?Problem is now Burkhard's LC comes in one large file for the whole world. Any way to split it up? Or can one make such a thing as a dummy lc file?Alex

Please forgive me contacting if there is a forum for FS Real Time, I am not sure if I am barking up the wrong tree. Suffice to say I am going nuts trying to uninstall FS Real Time. I made the error of trying to install the latest version without uninstalling the older version first (I will learn my lesson). I have looked everywhere to try and find Joshua Robertson's email I get an error message saying 'unable to load intialization file'...then 'FS Real Time must first be Uninstalled'. However when I try to uninstall it I get the same error message 'unable to load intialization file'Can some please help me resolve this?
