I hope some one can help me. I reinstalled FS2002 and I am getting bad sound when I am in the 2d panel view. In all other views the sound is great, just bad in the 2d panel wiew. I have checked all the tricks and tips and all other forums, but have not found any help. I am using XP and a creative live sound card. The sound is great outside FS and all other games and programs sound great. Just this one sound issue. Thanks for any help. It is driving me crazy. I have tried about everything I can to help, new sound drivers and ajusting just about everything in the sim and out. ray

I'm posting this in hopes that someone else will avoid the agony of a two hour complete reinstall of FS9 and ALL of your add ons after you have experienced a sudden drop in Frame Rates.I have an Asus Intel 3.2 Ghz MB with GeForce FX 5900 video card which feeds two 19 inch analog monitors operating with nVidia's driver 66.93 Dx9.0c in DualView mode. I have my frame rates locked at 20 and run SquawkBox, FSNav, and AS2004 WX generator on the second right hand monitor with the cockpit and "windscreen"/scenery view windows on the left. Anyone else experience this? Alt-tab to windows and then when I want to go back to FS 2004 it has hanged. No issues in game. Never used to have this problem before so no idea what happened.

I can't seem to start the stock 737-400from a cold, dark cockpit other than Cntl+E.I would prefer manually starting the engines but cannotfind a battery switch to activate the panel. If there is such a switch, could someone tell me whereto find it? If there's a key combination (other thanCntl+E) to start the electronics, what is it? Thanks in advance, Doug Mann

Hi GuysI reformatted my pc and took the oppertunity to clean up my FS9 and try out the new patch...I know I know - dumb idea. Everything was working fine, acceptable blurries, nice frames, no stutter and now... OUCH!!!Blurries are back with a vengance, the frames drop and increase erratically and now I have some dreaded stutters. Ok lets start where I reloaded XP. Clean install after format and then loaded Service Pack 2. No problem there. Then loaded the latest nForce platform drivers from Nvidia for the board. No problem there. Hi guys,usually being pretty much a payware guy my around the world trip made me search for a lot of freeware files lately.I stumbled over a freeware scenery of Cairns Australia which left me stunned. Not only is it payware quality, but excellent payware quality!! Frankly you rarely get this quality in payware. It was made by Daryl Fisher (thx a hundred times Daryl) and comes with its own landclass, mesh, AFCAD and even AITraffic.I am really astounded how much time and expertise some guys put in these files. I've found that at what appear to be random times (can be during a long or short flight) I begin to get "stutters" especially when changing views. It just starts to get worse and worse as time goes on. I blamed it on all kinds of things from Squawkbox (where I first saw it happening) to Autogen, etc.. none of those things appear to directly cause it.I HAVE found a solution for it, although I have no idea why this works.Whenever I'm getting stutters I go to the display settings, hardware tab, and uncheck or check (depends upon whether it's already checked or not) the "Render to Texture" box. Wonder if anyone is able to run Super Flight Planner with Windows 98?

I have been thinking about cockpit noises recently, and one of the biggest omissions I feel is the thump thump thump of the nose gear hitting the runway centres.How would it be possible to impliment this noise into FS?, obviously it would be a little more difficult than just adding a sound as the frequency of the thump increases with speed.Would certainly be something I am interested in....CheersDan.

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew how to make the retractable landing light on the FFX 737 and MD-80 set back a little further because last time I flew on any of those planes I was sitting right behind the wing andf I could see the landing lights on the 737 all the way to 10 degrees of flaps and for the MD-80 I could see them the whole time whne they were extended....i'm guessing under the tailhook cfg settings but I adjusted some things but nothing happened. I've checked in here for the last few days to see if anyone had purchased the FSCharter Commander, but I haven't seen anyone offer an opinion yet. Well, I have one now because I purchased it this evening. I certainly am no expert on FS add-ons, but I do own most business jet and GA add ons out there, mostly FSD and Eaglesoft products. So I think that I have a good idea about what quality is in FS design. Having said that, I suggest that you don't buy this addon. With many progrmas supporting speech rec. now, I'm one of those hoping it will be in FS200x (whenever).Strangely alot of people don't really seem to want it- I can't understand this. Imagine SPEAKING to ATC, and getting responses instead of pushing buttons. Way, Way better. Anyway, I think one of the misconceptions is that speech rec = robotic voices. That's completely wrong. The two are totally seperate components. The MS Speech SDK allows us to talk to our computers, and the text-to-speech SDK is to allow the computer to speak to us. What does this mean? It started happening recently out of the blue (but of course! this is FS!) The error looks "generic", but strangely the sound works fine when I click OK to close the window. It pops up with my Boeing panels by Luis Pereira. The panels and sound work fine although the TCAS freezes and I cannot figure out why. I don't know if any of this is related. I have noticed alot of aircraft, such as lears and boeings, etc etc, that have landing lights that flash. The lights are nice, and look good in my opinion. They simply just flash when turned on. Left flashes then dims out as the Right comes on, then the same with the left.Is their a way that this can be simulated in FS? I think it would be great if it could.

Hello,I just recently had to completely uninstall my FS9 package, but am now having problems reinstalling the FS9.1 patch.When I attempt to execute the update file the program tells me (uncorrectly) that the simulator is version FS9.1 and thereafter aborts the installation. Is there an ID-file or something which wasn't cleaned out during the uninstall process that tells the installer my version is 9.1?Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get the FS9.1 patch to install?Thanks,Mr. Inge JohannessenNorway

Just replicated a flight I undertook for real this weekend from Mauritius to UK. Interestingly, all the desert in north Africa and Libya is green in FS9. Nothing like the real world which is various shades of red/orange/yellow. Strangely, the FS9 desert in USA in Arizona is more like the ral thing and is various shades of brown. Does anyone know of any testures to make deserts more realistic and especially, to get rid of the green in North Africa?KFD

I just installed the OV-10(new in the file library yesterday) along with the addon file for missing gauges into FS9.It is a superb model and looks ,sounds and flies well. Only problem I have is that the GPS doesn't work .Clicking on the GPS button does absolutely nothing . Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?MTIADave

Does anyone have the missing gauges for the panel in the OV10VMO1.zip file here at Avsim? It is an OV-10 MCAS VMO-1 plane. I e-mailed the author as stated in the readme but the mail came back undeliverable. I'd sure like to get the missing gauges. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I have followed the PDF manual exactly and failed to get the starting switches to trip. I have to use CNTL-E, and I don't like doing that!!! Any hints?? .... PS - I load the plane via the FS9 default Cessna after I shut down the Cessna's engines.Randy Jura, KPDX

Mr Cantu-I am thoroughly enjoying your 727-200 model. It has to be the best model out there, payware or sim, and it works perfectly with the DF panel (soon to be released).
