One recommendation in the documentation is to try disabling this file by re-naming it:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Autogendefault.xmlThis works really well, with very large increases in frame rates on my system.But what effect will that have on the default scenery?Cheers,N.

I'm still confused about these two modes: last time I tried (months ago, before some re-installs) windowed mode, I had a dramatic increase in FPS. Sure, the window decorations are ugly, but sometimes the additional FPS may be worth it.Someone wrote here that there's no difference between the two modes, the graphics adapter delivers full power in either mode. I read in the past that only full screen mode enables the 3D capabilities of the adapter, so I'm puzzled now...Andreas

Guys, I am getting duplicate listings in the select airports section for Alaska in fs9 with only one choice for starting runways and no parking spots. Scan Afcads shows no duplicates. Anyone know what went wrong? rnails

Posted this over at the UT Forum but since this place gets more traffic, thought I would see if anyone else has come across this.I just noticed that while sitting at Dallas (KDFW) I don't see a single AA aircraft. And isn't this their major hub? I set AI to 100% and I also did a simple re-compile with a new kdfw afcad2 (150 parking spots) to see the results. Still no AA?UT version is pretty much out of the box. I did change a few 737-300 models to some AIA models about 6 months ago and that all seemed to work well. I've downloaded a some freeware scenery today (Kashmir and Nepal areas), which come with instructions that are quite clear - specifically, to backup & replace some fs9 .bgl files in the sceneryasiascenery sub-directory with new .bgl files that update some elevation information needed for the new freeware scenery/airports to work correctly.My question is whether I could simply create a new scenery area (e.g., Addon SceneryKashmir_Nepal_fixscenery), then copy the updated .bgl's to that new directory, and use "Add area" in the fs9. Do you ever find it frustrating to fly to an airport only to find your approach to the runway impeded by tall trees or to (almost?) collide with a VOR or other object actually on the runway? Unfortunately I forgot to check with this Forum about VANS and their Mexican Scenery. It would have prevented a lot of problems.I purchase their scenery last Friday the 6th and to this date and time I have not even gotten an email from them acknowledging the purchse (nearly 50 bucks).Do a search in this forum and learn about them and their lousy customer service.I guess the only thing I can do is to get intouch with my credit card Bank and see if they can do something about it.Any ideas ?BTW this was supposed to be a download purchase so I wonder how long it would take to get the whole scenery (and Mesh). I was wondering if someone could help me please? I bought the Ariane 737-700 VCE today and I have a few questions. First though I would like to say I love the Ariane product I have the 737-900 Vce and find it to be a great addon. My question is that I bought the plane and recieved the receit and confirmation code. When I went to down load the 5 different parts I could not get all of them. I was only able to get the sound, flight man, and the instalation instructions. When I tried to down load the other two it gave me a broken link. I tried several times without any luck. When doing an approach with the Trident 3 in VC I lock the altitude as instructed. (using 2000 feet 9 miles out before Loc intercept)But I never see or get any GS line across the HSI as illustrated in their manual... I have that little trigger switch set vertical and the knob set to GLIDE. I do get to catch the localiser but not the GS. Tried different runways.any ideas?allen

Good day,I have a Problem with the Lonny Payne Panel and the POSKY 763V4. At the Autoland function the Aicraft crash. It does not make the Autoland correctly. If I crashed then the FS want to recover the Flight at my start Airport. But at this moment my FS9 shuts down with an error in the ZSNEWPFD.gau I think.Could me anybody maybe give a tipp first to get autoland working correct(The panel indicates that Autoland 3 is aviable) and to avoid the Shut down of the Recover.Any help is very appreciated.best regardsMatthias Roehling

I'm having a problem viewing the cockpit when I add a downloaded plane to my Aircraft folder. The cockpit view is all black (yes it is in daytime too) and I cannot see any control panel or front view of the windscreen. When I try to look at other views, however, everything else is fine. Even the "W" key works.The instructions for the download just said to place the whole plane folder in the FS9 Aircraft folder. This has also happened to a couple of other downloads.Any ideas?

Tried to install some new scenery into my FS today and when I went to start FS, it told me that I would need to contact the "Admin." of my system to install these files into the sim. What gives? Nothing has changed? How can I go about this? I'm at a loss.

Hey guys....my FS 2k4 has been transforming into a sluggish programme having 5-10 fps or so...It seems like my explorer.exe (non-viral, i suppose) dominates my CPU when I run FS, so I resort to terminate explorer.exe but that doesn't help. looks like the n00b system doesn't know how to allocate memory and CPU priority to FS :(I performed virus scan and spyware/Adware scan, still, that doesn't helpWell I'd like to try deleting fs9.cfg, but where comes this file? i can't find it in my FS9 folder... :(Please help.
