I've noticed that FSC 9 and FSX both will give you wildly inefficient flight plans, for instance from my home airport to Dallas, it had it's lowest waypoint down by New Orleans, which is a few hundred miles out of the way, when I put the same flight plan into PFPX it made more or less as efficient as it could be. My question is, why are both FSX and FSC so weird in their flight plan creations?

I installed a MAI 890 to FSX Gold. The problem is that when I select it only the pilot and windshield appear.

Good afternoon, I'm in the process of changing everything over to FSX. I'm trying to install the Project Airbus A319, A319 and A320 as instructed by Project Airbus. I have all the model updates but have a problem with the strobes and nav lights, they do not appear at all? Just bought this, love it so far but 1 issue. When switching between VC to Airplane to World cameras, the textures get annoying lost and have to reload. This is obviously due to World camera being way away from the other 2 views. Is there a way to disable World cameras so they don't appear when cycling with S key?

Hi Folks, I've been trying to tweak my FSX recent to try and minimize the blurry distant ground textures. I have just updated my graphics drivers, to the latest from nvidia and that helped with the anti-aliasing but not the ground textures. Ok, so I've finally figured out mostly everything except the flaps do not go down when I hit the flaps lever what do I press to unlock them?

Anyone using FSXfollow by Position Games? I have been having trouble getting connected to their website so I can run my iPad app when I am flying. Their forum is no longer being used. I am wondering whether they went out of business. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks for your help! Airbus

Hey All, Will I've decided to go with Prepar3d and with a mobile unit. So I've decided to sell my Mid-Tower FSX with all the works to my neighbor for his 16 old son. I've got a lot of software and upgrades on it, so the other day I was trying to show him how to the lessons in FSX. But I could not get the FSX to show the VR cockpit. I was wondering if it is because I have Steve's DX10 Fixer installed? I haven't tried disabling it, will try tonight, but wanted to know if anybody has had this issue? Thanks, realkewl

One of the reasons I hardly ever fly FSX is that for some reason (how was this an improvement on FS9??) my second monitor is always black when FSX in in full screen view on my main screen. I sometimes use FS-Simitizer, which looks like you are full screen, but it is clear you are still in windowed mode, as scenery in spot view is not drawn at exactly the same rate as you pan in spot view (or so it appears), creating a 'billowing/rippling effect'. I guess you'll all know what I mean... Is there some way to stop this, so that scenery is drawn as solidly and accurately in window mode as I am used to in FS9? My PC is reasonably high-end, with an i7-4790K (4 GHz), a GTX-9…

Hi guys, I've got FSX on my windows 7 pc and used "Dirlinker" to move files to another drive to free up space on my C drive. I'm trying(over the phone) to help someone to do the same but this time he is using FSX-SE on windows 10, but it doesn't seem to be compatable with Windows 10. For all you Windows 10 people out there, have you any experience or ideas on how to move the files to free up space on Windows 10? Cheers.

Hello I've been using flight sims for as long as I can remember, but since gaining my PPL a few years ago one thing I've stopped doing in FSX is using either the default or third party conventionally controlled aircraft (i.e, any aircraft other than the FBW Airbus). Manually controlling these aircraft is absolutely terrible - due to the lack of control loading it is extremely difficult to get a sense of the control inputs required. Trimming for example is usually just a case of releasing the controls then trimming until you have the attitude you want. For pitch, I often do end up just flying it with the trim wheel. Good evening, I have recently starting changing over to FSX and have come across a problem. I have TDS 787 in FS9 and changed the contact points to lower the gear compression on the main landing gear which worked fine. In FSX for some reason this doesn't work and I'm not sure why? No matter what the value I change it to, the gear height remains the same and it doesn't compress like it did in FS9? I've tried the TDS support page on Facebook but not really got anywhere so far. Hello All, I'm having issues setting the MTOP for take-off. I'm not sure when to press it; I've been pressing it as part of my before take off checks and it shows up and indicates 100% in blue but then seems to reset after a few seconds to 90%. Then I'll try and set it again after I'm rolling with throttles already full forward and it seems to stay there but it's quite awkward taking my hand off the joystick to get to the mouse to look down to push the button to look back up and half off the small rwy... I'm doing some short gravel fields in northern Quebec (3,500ft long by maybe 100 ft wide) and need the 100%. FSX, Pilot edition. Thanks!

I've read and I've watched, but the videos I've seen don't really go into detail about what you do to get the q400 on the ground, and the posts I've seen seem conflicting on if there is some sort of auto land for the plane? Is it a basic ILS system? I can't seem to figure it out.

Hello. Can anybody explain to me when do you use strobe-steady lights in Boeing 737-800 PMDG NGX and what is the difference between putting the switch in the middle or pushing it completely? Hello guys i am having a bigh problem with my fsx. Always when i am flying, after 30m or 1 hour of flight i go outside of the plane and some parts of the aircraft are white and then i go back to the cockpit and the cockpit is also white, furthermore the simulator becomes slower and the outside scenery become like withouth good graphics. Some people told me to add the HIGHMENFIX 1 in the graphics section from the FSX cfg and i already did it but it keeps happening the same. Please i need help because i always have to close the simulator and reopen it again and that's really unconfortable.

Two weather engines, both get good reviews. Active Sky Next seems to edge REX4 by a small margin. BUT REX textures are often used with ASN as being a bit better. AND REX has their Weather Architect and Soft Clouds and their new WX Advantage Weather addon. I assume the REX Weather Architect and Soft Clouds and the WX Advantage Weather will not work with ASN, or am I wrong? What is the advantage of REX4 over ASN? Not looking for contravery, just a bit of guidance. Thx

Having visited Mt Everest a couple of times (and it not being very likely I'll get there again, any time soon at least!) I love to fly around that part of Nepal/India/China in FS9 or FSX. I have the Aerosoft Lukla scenery - and the area around Mt Everest looks good - but it's hard to find a (realistic) aircraft or helicopter that will cope up there. I suppose decreased power with reduced air pressure at altitude is modelled in both FS9 and FSX? Inasmuch as before I even get to Everest base camp I have sunk to the ground, exhausted (the helicopter has, I mean!) . There's never enough power. I know (of course) that it is much harder to fly in that thin air, but the heli…

Hi, I am new here and just a simpilot. Well, I think the probem occured after I had bought an add-on: Ground Service X. A little later I received a message from Couatl offering an uppdate that I accepted. After a while FSX began to stutter and finally freezed. When I checked the .cfg file I discovered 2 new lines: SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693500672, And once more the same but without the number 10. I have found a folder called SHADER 10 in "user\ appdate\ local\ MS\FSX". I have read earlier that these files can cause serious problems so I deleted it, and voilà! everything went back to normal. Only thing is that it is written back into the .cfg file. I wonder now if it i…

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere (if it has been I apologise!). I anticipate and hope it will blow the Aerosoft A320 out of the water, though of course there isn't the variety of the rest of the family as of yet. I am standing by to purchase. That plus the B744 from PMDG should get me properly back into FS, if the damn thing stops crashing that is LOL. Well, somehow two of my default FSX airports got corrupted. FACT and KSEA. Seems all the buildings are gone in both sceneries. Is there a way to fix this WITHOUT reinstalling FSX? I have over $1000 of add-ons and dont want to have to reinstall all of them. Thanx! -Rick

Hello I've been trying to use the captain sim 767 aircraft but due to the cabin there is a huge loss of frame rates. This is expected but I know that there is a way to remove the cabin from the aircraft using ace but i don't know how? I've tried just clicking it to the setting but it doesn't save that information. So if anyone can explain how to do it or why it is not working then please help. Thanks

So just installed a thrid screen to get a resol of 5040x1050. I have another two monitors to drag in flying gauges and panels. When clicking up the 2d mainpanel not only the 2dpanel will be nowhere to be found but i will get a constant flickr in the cursor between arrow and the sandclock. Followed this thread: http://www.simforums.com/forums/triple-monitor-2d-cockpit-problem_topic43932.html But the lines they describe are not exactly the same as in the panel.cfg file of wilco aircraft. Any ideas??
