Hi, as a new member I'm please to be with you. I have only been been using FSX for about 3 months, but am well and truely hooked.I am looking for advice on how to improve my setup to get the best I can, performance/graphics wise, from FSX.My Computer has Gigagyte P45 board, Intel E6650 @ 2.33GHz CPU, NVIDIA GeForce8800 GT Graphics and 4GB of RAM.FSX and Saitek Yoke Bundle are currently installed on C drive, If I were to put them into a separate exclusive partition, would that help?Or if I do need to upgrade to obtain better, which componants should I be looking to replace?Sonny

Is Delta such a great company to work for? I have never flown with them, but their morale seems HUGE!!!Would love to hear of anyone who has flown with Delta, either as employee or passenger. Or been to this museum.....Would love to know what was done with this 767 in operations. Did employees use it for free flights? Or?http://www.deltamuseum.org/M_Aircraft_B-767.htmDaniel

Hi!I've seen some pictures of exhibits at some air museums, and I've noticed that most of the aircraft that are displayed outside have coverings on their canopies and windows. The coverings are not there for indoor aircraft. Are they there to protect the instruments inside from decay? Or is it there for airframe preservation? Or is it just to keep the cockpit cool (which would be defeating the purpose because no one is in the cockpit)? To clarify, here are some pictures (LONG URL, PICTURES NOT MINE). The coverings are blue, but on some pictures I've seen the covers are blackF-94C (51-3560), museum unknown:http://www.flickr.com/photos/23269353@N00/4857423599/in/photostream/…

I found this truly amazing video on Youtube of a now elderly World War II veteran who flew B-17 bombing missions in Europe taking his last flight on a B-17. The good and bad memories flooded his head and brought him to tears as soon as he saw the plane. What a truly touching and powerful video this is! Thanks for your service Marvin Skubickhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKBNw4kfwNM

I have a question relating to real world aviation. It is a stupid question, but it has been bugging me ever since. I've arrived in Sao Paulo in an Airbus A340-300 from TAP, and before landing, i heard two big THUDs. Well, the sound is comparable as to what you hear when you are inside a car, speeding on a highway and you pass over a small ondulation on the road. For example, when they are replacing the asphalt, and the difference between the new one and the old one, usually will have a few inches of a bump. Or when you go over a bridge, and there is a small space between the bridge and the main road. I have been mulling about this for a while, since I never heard it happe…

I am not huge on etiquette, but in the forums it is bugging me that 'posters' with usually unspecified questions that are open ended are posting Titles with lower caps. I want to know if we can stop this and what do others think of this. I know I am controversial, but I think this needs addressing as I am not entirely sure of those who post with lower caps. Posts that don't have the first letter in caps should be deleted. What do you think? If it is good for the gander it is good for the goose.Daniel

Hi everyone! I'm new here and wanted to say "Hello" and ask a beginner type question.I'm a private pilot, so I've had actual VFR flight training. I've flown sims VFR off and on over that last few years. But now I'd like to get a bit more serious about my sim flying. I'm thinking about learning IFR, and participating in some groups or more structured simulation environments. And, I'd like to make some sim flying friends along the way. So, if any of you have suggestions on how I should get started I'd sure like to hear them.I've been away from sim flying for a few years. I used to fly Il Sturmovik and an earlier version of Flight Simulator. Now I have X-Plane 9 on m…

THIS IS NOT ONLY AN EXTREMELY UNUSUAL POST, BUT ALSO A PLEADING REQUEST...( I sought and obtained AVSIM permission before posing)My wife and I are great animal lovers and spend all our spare time rescuing and fostering animals. During the course of our work, we received a web link that has changed my life! Please read this post through before clicking on the link below this post. I'll keep this very brief and to the point... The link shows some of the most disturbing video feed I have ever seen in my life and, believe me, having seen covert active service several times, I've seen many things one should not. There is a also a petition there to sign, which is why I want to …

Does anyone know if RAF Chivenor still has working runway lights? Pooley's and AFE state that it has Approach and Runway lighting, but a forum post elsewhere suggested that only the runway lights are left. If so, does it still have threshold lighting? Runway end lighting? The UK2000 version in VFR Airfields Volume 1 doesn't have any lighting at all, so I am confused as to exactly which is correct!

Hey all, am trying to get my parking as accurate as possible and am looking for help with gate assignments for Malpensa. Wikipedia tells what terminals each airline goes to and the official website has some gates but not all. Im especially interested in EI, I know they are seasonal flights to MXP and have scoured photos on both Airliners and Jetphotos websites as well as countless trip reports to no avail. Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Mark

I have ordered the 777-300ER video from Viking. Has anyone else done business with them? Their videos in widescreen look better than Justplanes as they have only 1 so far in widescreen. Also Reunion looks fun!Daniel

For all those Flight Simulator pilots, I mean computer button pushers, out there using the flight automation system. You may complain that Microsoft Flight Simulator doesn't always do things right, but I have proof that it's more real than you think per the following link to National Public Radio. www.npr.org/2011/02/17/133814621/investigation-scrutinizes-safety-of-flight-automation

Hello flight simmers! As a new owner of the Android Froyo powered Tablet I want to make as much of the device as possible. So far I managed to install Adobe Reader X to read the approach plates, but it lacks of index, bookmarks and annotations, so flight plan still have to be on paper. Do You use any other good PDF readers? I does not to have to be a freeware. I will gladly pay if the software will be good enough. It is a sad story, that there are almost no apps for Droid, only FSWidgets moving map which I want to give a try.How about Flight Computers? I have found plenty, the price varies from 1 to 18 bucks. Which would You recommend? Is there anything other serious simmer …

Hi GuysIf anyone can recommend a good email client I'd be grateful. Troble is, it MUST be able to work with POP3, IMAP and Hotamil.I'm currently using MS Live Mail for Win7x64. It does all those things but is INCREDIBLY SLOW! It drives me to distraction. Can only assume it's 'bloated' to be so poor.I've tried a few but they seem to do only one or two email types, not all three. Thanks
