So..... Bit of a stir in my area as a supermarket chain named C-Town just opened a store. The chain is primarily known as a New York retailer specializing in ethnic products, so transplanted New Yorkers have been/were/are especially intrigued at gaining access to more eclectic selection of items. Our wall mounted home heating thermostat went blank. No battery power and therefore no digital display of temperatures and no heat from the air grills. But the thermostat's two AA size batteries were still testing strong voltage. Which means the batteries have lost contact with the terminals. Folded a square of aluminum foil into a few layers thick and cut with scissors to match the size of the thermostat terminals. Dropped the batteries back in the slot and placed the folded foil on top, and closed the hatch door. Now there was less room for the batteries and so they fit more snug. Hey everyone! I’ve recently started taking my flight simming more seriously and I'm trying to learn the "proper" way to fly. But man, the amount of formulas is crazy. Wind correction, top of descent, fuel burn, true airspeed... my desk is covered in notes. For those of you who fly high-fidelity stuff (A320, 737 or even GA), do you actually sit there and calculate everything manually? Or do you just rely on the FMC and some "rules of thumb"? I want to keep it realistic, but I feel more like a math student than a pilot right now. What are the essential formulas that you actually use in every flight, and what can I leave for the "nerds"? Thanks!

in 2020 running 2 monitors you go to experimental and add your new window on thw second monitor. then your choices are lateral,vertical,and roll to change the views on the second monitor and as you change them you can see the changes as you do them . but in 2024 that second monitor does not come back for viewing as you change the options , so you have to guess at changes over and over to get a perfect view on the second monitor

To me, its always been expensive....... I kind of even want to thank Nvidia for bringing my once almost yearly graphics card upgrades to a screeching halt with their prices from heck.....

For me, this was very interesting as I wondered about the difference between this technique/technology and photogrammetry, and wondered about its possible applicability for flight-simming......

I was given a demonstration of BeyondATC by a friend yesterday. He was using MSFS2020. With its ability to include SIDs and STARs in its instructions it was very impressive. The voices too were a big improvement over those in Radar Contact v4 but that's probably down to changes in technology in 20 years. So it was very disappointing when I went on the BeyondATC website and found out it's not compatible with P3D. ProATC is. SayIntentions is. Pilot2ATC is. FSHud is.
