Couple question for airline pilots...
1) It depends but really after checklists/paperwork and debriefs are done, we usually head out pretty quickly. Sometimes we even head out before the pax as we have to get to another aircraft and we're running late (or on go home day when you need to rush out to get to your flight home). Sometime we wait for the pax to be out before heading out (so everyone can leave to either the shuttle to the hotel or get to a new plane, etc.).. 2) I usually clean my side with wipes everytime I take over from another crew. Hope this helps, any question just lmk...

Hotstart CL650 v1.9 available !
It doesnt look like they included weather radar yet, it's a shame because this is one of the best addon, hopefully it will be added soon.

Google Chrome and Avsim
It looks to me like this is a server-side settings issue. I am forced to use the Edge browser to visit the AVSIM forums, I hope they can look into this and fix it as it is annoying switching from one browser to another just to visit one site.

Google Chrome and Avsim
same problem here. I cleared my cookies and after one successful request to the forums, I get the same 404 error again on the next click. What happened? AVSIM is the only site doing this. Is it a server setting that was changed to reduce headers size (I understand it could be related to security)

Kung Fu Robot.
I just listened to a podcast where Elon Musk was talking about building robots and the impact of AI. He was basically saying any work related to computers will be gone and replaced by AI (and let's not forget self driving cars and so on). I am towards the end of my career, but I do worry about the kind of future the younger generations will be faced with. I was in IT before being an airline pilot and worked on cloud/automation (Infra/Software as a service, etc.), it made a lot of jobs obsolete, but created other jobs. I dont know if this will be the case with AI. Elon was basically saying that in a perfect world, nobody would have to work and that there would be some sort of unversal income, I just dont see this happening. We already saw Airbus push for single pilot operations, granted it is for extended minimum crew operations (only one pilot in the flightdeck ion cruise, and the other "resting", but this is how it starts, more jobs to be lost. We are living in a very uncertain world nowadays....

737 Max | Aspen (Kase) Runway 33 | Dangerous Approach
indeed 🙂

737 Max | Aspen (Kase) Runway 33 | Dangerous Approach
That is correct. Been stuck a few times there because we exceeded limitations and had to explain the pax that even though they could see all the corporate traffic departs, we couldnt... lol Another interesting facts is when on the approach, you see departing traffic coming straight at you, but you know they will make a right turn eventually (I did get a bit nervous my first time landing there).

Pimax Crystal Light issue
Hi all, I am having a strange issue with XP12 in VR (other sims are not having this issue). There is some sort of invisible box in the left screen of the headset that seems to be rendering enhanced graphics (is that foveated? sorry I am not too aware of the latest and greatest). But this makes it impossible for me to fly XP in VR. I dont have openXR install and go via SteamVR/OpenPimax. Googling seems to indicate I would have to edit some files in steamVR (or OpenXR) to disable foveated but before I start spending too much time on this I wanted to see if anyone here knew what I was talking about and had some sort of fix to this? The latest XP looks awesome and I cant wait to fly it in VR. Thank you in advance!

Any CRJ-700 pilots? Approach/Landing help requested
Agree with the responses above (I am CL65 rated), full flaps and a 2.5 degrees nose up should do the trick. The flight model has been improved and it flies much better than previous version. It's too bad no one is doing a 200 version, many differences (Flight model, less automation, etc.) than the 550/700/900 (I must admit the 200 is a dog in the summer and you wont find anyone loving that bird lol)

Airliners VR Performance in MSFS 2024?
I run both Ini350 and Fenix and have no issues whatsoever with both products in VR. I am running with pretty high settings as I run a 5090 (also running Say Intentions Traffic). I dont think you will have any issues with a 4090. FSL is also running ok but there are some design issues in VR (Tablet is too small and some of the clickspots are a bit difficult). I say go for it, a 4090 is definitely powerful enough to run airliners in VR. Enjoy!

Is the FSS E-190/95 worth it in MSFS 2024?
I don't believe this addon is worth it in its current state. It's been out for quite some time (I am not a developer so I can't speak about what it takes to get LNAV/VNAV coded) and as others stated LNAV is not great and VNAV is nowhere to be found, and the product has been out for quite some time. On the positive side, the cockpit and textures are good, even in VR. I also like the sounds (the rattling effect on Take off is spot on) They still have a long way to go, EFB needs work, no ATSU (simbrief integration is implemented) but they are not close to anything like FSL/FNX/PMDG, etc. I've jumpseated on that beast quite often to know its quirks, and I hope they can reproduce how sometimes the Autothrottle needs to be overriden by the PF.... It's got potential, but they are taking way too much time to get it right (IMO)

Ini A350 1.0.9 is OUT. Huge update.
yes same here, awful performance in both fs20 & fs24. I think they need to widen their beta testers pool with a various range of hardware (I have a 7950X3D 16 core/64GB RAM and a RTX5090 and it is unusable in VR). 1.0.8 ran ok on my rig

Are things looking up weather radar wise?
Hi Jim, Was this using live weather? I havent been able to get any returns on the CRJ (I'm CL65 TR). I've ready somewhere that the radar only works with weather presets, was it the case in your screenshot? Thx!

Aerosoft CRJ V2 released
+1, also is anyone having issues with their weather radar? It seems to only paint returns when there is a TS around.

737 lands with direct tailwind???
I wouldnt think so. My airline has a strict 10kts tailwind limitation, anything over that, no can do. Perhaps the tower reported a different wind condition and the crew elected to land on that runway. I dont think these guys would put their job on the line busting SOPs 🙂 5200' is right around the limit for a 737 (not a 900)
