LPV not activated (resolved)
Hi Frank, Hmm - not really - if you're looking for immersion - KPOU is ORBX Freeware updated and while I did my flight training there - I don't recall having ever eaten... KMSV - is default - and I find it difficult to use default airports... It’s my personal exception to the rule as that’s where I base my plane... Place with the BEST food in the area - Nu Cavu - at the Wallkill Airport AKA Kobelt (N45) - but the default representation is pretty poor... Not my PIX @ Kobelt: Waterbury-Oxford (KOXC) might be a good dining representation - also improved by ORBX Freeware - 121 - a real sit down restaurant and probably worthy of the simulated AvGas... Not my PIX @ Oxford: Hope this helps... Regards, Scott

LPV not activated (resolved)
Hi... They're official US FAA plates so they just dropped the country identifier of "K"... It's listed on both the top right and bottom right of the plate - next to the airport name... In this case: "MSV" = "KMSV" "POU" = "KPOU" Hope that helps... Both are close to my home and I fly them regularly in sim and RW... Regards, Scott

SunSkyJet KPHL ?
Hi Pablo, Nice to see you still here... Quick question - have you got all the bridges working with P3D on your setup ??? I've subsequently chatted with Shez and I believe Ian has other commitments - so he turned over the whole Detroit project to Shez... Ian did the bulk of the modeling... I would think if someone manages to fix the bridges and send the files to Shez - it might make KPHL fully compatible with P3D available to everyone... Anyway - just a thought... KPHL is still a work of art... Regards, Scott

About to buy the 35A
Hi Folks, Well - had my first flight and I must say I'm impressed... As mentioned - the textures could be a bit better (really doesn't detract from the experience) and the paint schemes chosen are really not to my taste... I can only fly the very plain looking one with the blue stripe without saying yuck (again - just my taste - not a reflection on their quality)... Any good repaints out there ? Other than that - the package seems extremely well done... The FDE makes it a hoot to fly with a great sound package that literally thunders down the runway on your takeoff roll... Big difference from my only other bizjet package - the Carenado C525A and 100 knots or so faster... The systems seems to have some real depth - looks like I have some learning to do... I anticipate spending a substantial time in this new bird... Hah - it takes off and climbs like a ballistic missile compared to the Citation... Anyone know how to map the NWS button ? Regards, Scott

the FTX (ORBX) website has been off-line, all morning....
Hi Folks, LOL - had a bit of a chuckle - all this right after an ORBX announcement about relieving the previous admin who had been with them for years because they were moving forward and needed "world class support" to support their ever growing company... They're not using "CGI Federal" - LOL - are they ? Regards, Scott

Austin Meyer (creator of X-Plane) updates us on his patent troll problem
Hi Folks, To bring a real world aviation spin on this - a few years back there is a company called "FlightPrep" that after years of being denied a patent - finally managed to get an ultra vague patent approved... It was something as vague as putting a course line on a chart on a website... Once awarded - they began a systematic approach to sue just about every flight planning site out there... Sadly - they started with the smallest ones - you know - the hobbyist who toiled for years to make something of use for the community and provide it for free - as a labor of love... NavMonster was one of it's first victims - when faced with a lawsuit for something that generates no revenue - how can you fight it... The aviation community responded angrily against FlightPrep - but - for all our attempts - letters - posts - boycotts - I don't think it really had an impact... I know they went after AOPA and Garmin - which didn't settle and mentioned being ready to fight - but I don't think they went to court... I'm not sure what the final resolution was - as it just kind of died away... New flight planning sites have popped up and I haven't heard mention of any further threats... FlightPrep is still out there and has a web presence... Regards, Scott
