Can you go into more depth as to what your poll is for?

These pop up often on Avsim and for the most part I’m not sure what these polls accomplish or serve?

I clicked mostly in GA aircraft.  Even with my recent airliner purchase I'd still prefer GA.  It just can't be beat.  You can literally fly into any remote airstrip or any large airport, and everythin

95% GA for me.  I will mix in the occasional business jet or occasional military jet, but that's pretty rare.  A twin prop is about as big and complex as I get.  I haven't touched an airliner since th

Not sure why helos, vintage, and concept are separated out from the others, but that’s what I picked though I’d opt for GA and helos/vintage if I could.

Note: General Aviation defines the type of flight it is, not the type of aircraft. Example: PMDG’s Boeing Business Jet version of the 737 is GA - just like a corporate livery on the Fenix A320 is too.

Likewise flying a Cape Air Cessna 402 (or in the sim, something like a 404 due to lack of model) would be an airliner.

It is great that the sim caters to such variety, though I think most here would advocate for jet airliners 24/7 if they could.

You need a 5th poll option, “All and Any” … I like diversity and don’t restrict myself to any category of aircraft.

GA is a pretty broad category... you don't fly any of these:  Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft (Textron/Cessna), Diamond, Daher, Embraer (even the Lineage could be flown as private GA), Gulfstream, Learjet?  One could even fly a BBJ or ACJ as GA 🙂

Of course I do, but that's not what I meant.

I fly a wide range of aircraft, including GA, warbirds, military jets or transports, helicopters etc.... There's not really a category that I fly more than the others (although my flights in the Cessna C-152 do tend to take longer 😄 ). At least, my reply would be more like "I fly mostly VFR, and occasionally IFR", no matter the aircraft type.

That being said, liners are indeed the ones with the least amount of flight time in my hangar. I rarely have the time for a long IFR flight, and when I do, I tend to use more interesting aircraft like military transports, smaller jets or the BS Starship, etc... I did a few flights with the default 747 and the FBW A320, but the 787's (default and Horizon) have never left the parking yet...

They are just fun.

Gives you a chance to see what others are doing and up to.

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

As a private pilot, I can't ever seem to get much satisfaction from flying GA aircraft. The jetliners fascinate me, and I've always been a sucker for flying passenger jets.

And yet , the survey shows 50/50 GA and airliners 😉

OnAir, on the harder (middle) difficulty. You have to really set aside money for maintenance and invest in making your workshops cheaper. Also stay on top of debt to asset ratio too - almost all my planes were leased which meant limited financing options to deal with anything that comes up.

For me it is the Fenix, Ifly737max, PMDG737/800.   It is hard enough to keep all the procedures for all of the aircraft in my mind.   I can't imagine adding complex GA.   What makes for me is realism!  MSFS24 is giving me that.

Great program, but hard to master indeed. I used it for half a year or so, but realized that it was too real for me. I only stayed afloat by sticking with one small airplane and one region. After a while, I wanted to do something else.
