  1. I confirm OpenXR Toolkit works 100% fine with MSFS2024. It's just "not supported" in a sense that it won't receive any new updates from its author, that's all. But the current version works just fine. If the CTRL+TAB (enter/exit VR mode) causes a crash, I would simply suspect one of these two: 1- the OpenXR runtime installation (NOT the toolkit) and related setup (i.e. to get rid of SteamVR and such) 2- the video drivers, eventually.
  2. I'm using a simple (simplest?) wireless mouse from "Logicool" with just two buttons and a scroolwheel, and I don't have issue. Sometimes, I do face the cursor not reacting, jumping around, lagging etc.... but that's only when the mouse is getting too far from its blutooth dongle while the mouse battery is getting low. Once I replace/recharge the battery, all comes back to normal.
  3. I'm in the same case, I do not have MSFS2020 on my computer anymore, and some kind of technical issues can get really irritating to me. That's why I prefer to wait for the actual MSFS2024 version, just to be on the safe side... 🙂
  4. Yes and no. The thing is, if he posts screenshots that looks absolutely fine to us, then we can be sure the problem lies in his screen color/contrast/light settings. If however his screenshots look terrible also to us, then we know the problem is not linked to his screen settings but more his sim graphic settings, or NVidia settings, or any postprocessing tools (reShade) etc... if any.
  5. I think that before recommending to adjust brightness/contrast/saturation etc... we should first see what the sim looks like on the OP computer to see if there is actually a problem or not. I have seen many times simmers say that the sim was over bright with washed out textures, while they were actually flying with an incorrect view point deep back of a very dark cockpit with tiny windows and zoomed out view. I have yet to see a standard monitor or TV with very bad settings to the point that an image would be so bad to look at. If the sim looks bad, then movies and everything else would look bad as well, and the problem would have been noticed (and solved) much sooner...
  6. I'm not really sure there are still so many P3D users, really. It might have been true a few years ago but nowadays I think the total number is way smaller. The thing is, you have to consider what kind of simmer would still be using P3D today, beside the actual professional usage. We're talking mostly of IFR dedicated pilots, who use very advanced aircraft that are not yet available in other sims. For example the FSL Concorde ( 😄 ) or the PMDG 747. These people have no choice but keep with P3D, and this precise category of people is the one that is most likely to know about and participate the the Navigraph survey. Beside these high-level IFR flights afficionados, the simmers that are more into other kind of flights (VFR, bush, seaplane etc...) have already departed to other sims.
  7. It's not very clear but at least the creator of the helicopter wrote this, over at the FS forum: Now, he didn't write what these "loyalty benefits" meant. Is it a price reduction or something else ? No idea yet. And it's important to mention that the MSFS2020 will not work correctly in MSFS2024, so if you don't have MSFS2020 installed anymore and use only MSFS2024, you should refrain from buying this helicopter for now, until the real MSFS2024 version is released 🙂
  8. Sorry, I don't have a Pimax headset, but isn't there some internal menus in the headset with settings that let you adjust things like IPD ?
  9. Isn't joinFS allowing shared cockpit in MSFS ?
  10. but then again... Right. No elitism at all.
  11. You're free to dislike the features, but judging the whole sim based on the things that you don't even use doesn't make sense. It's like, XP12 has everything you need, but some day they decide to add some new ADDITIONAL feature that you don't need, and you decide to come back to P3D because XP12 has lost focus. It simply doesn't make sense at all. I would get that you stop liking the sim because some features have been modified to alter or interfere with your simulator experience, ok. But that's not the case here. I wouldn't mind if the ultralight aircraft is realistic. Actually, flying realistically through a fantasy land is quite recreational from time to time. And optional, too... The radar tilt is coming in the next update, due in a few weeks (currently in beta tests). Because yes, contrary to what you wrote here, the development is still focused on the simulator aspects, such as avionics 🙂 You spawn exactly where you choose to spawn, from the UI, you are not "randomly thrown all over the place". I do agree that the promised scenery gateway, which is one of the greatest features in XPlane, is still missing from MSFS, and that's a very valid pain point. By "avatar" I was referring to the avatar mode like in P3D, that let's you walk outside of the aircraft. But an "Avatar" expansion would be fun, so why not. This won't remove any of the realistic addons/features of the sim anyways 🙂
  12. Good for you. Of course they do, just like a very big part of the PC community. It's just you who hates it mindlessly. For sure.
  13. I have some good news: if you don't want to see the Dune aircraft in your hangar, you can simply disable it. I for one was very happy to see a free Huey reaching my hangar. Truth is, you're complaining about some of us getting more/additional/optional things than what you just wanted or needed, as if it were hurting your religious belief or something like that. It doesn't make any sense. It has no impact on you, it doesn't decrease your simulator experience, and you're free to ignore it. Lol, "I don't use MSFS because there's some free stuff and features than I can't tolerate". What an open mind...
  14. I get that you didn't feel comfortable with it, but your description above makes it sound much worse than what it actually is. The collaborations have absolutely no impact whatsoever on your flightsim user experience. Don't make it sound like it's a mandatory thing that we have to go through like an additional task or something. It's not. You're completely free to ignore it. At maximum, you'll see one more FREE aircraft in your hangar. How painful is that, eh ? 😄 The UI has its flaws, but saying things like "freeflight is like an afterthough".... yep there's a main menu and freeflight is one of the choices. What an absolute torture... 😄
  15. Each collaboration with a movie brought some elements in the sim, mostly a new free aircraft and new missions and related sceneries to go with it. For Stranger things, we got a Huey and missions over sceneries that recreated some scenes from the serie. While the environment is purely fantasy, the flight model is still realistic so it brings some real fun and challenge to fly these missions. For Dune, it's kind of the same principle excepted that the aircraft is purely fantasy. You had some missions localed in some deserts looking like the movie. For Jurassic Parc however, it's a completely separate and payware addon, not free like the other two. The concept however is closer to Stranger things extension: you get a new scenery that recreates the island with the park from the movie. The park is populated with dinos here and there, and you just fly over them with any realistic aircraft you want. You can also land where you want and explore on foot with the avatar mode (same as in P3D, by the way) to take a closer look at these dinos moving around. In VR it's actually quite a thrill !
  16. Sorry for the dumb question, but once this live traffic data is not available in FSTL, what will be left ? Will there still be some "regular" AI traffic for liners and GA based on FSTL models, or nothing at all ?
  17. The actual immersion is going to be crazy. As you saw, the ground details are nowhere near DCS, same goes for the sky/weather depictions, but the overall realism is going to be on a completely different level. I think the word "overwhelming" might be adequate here. Concerning the planes, Falcon is all about the F-16 and it's variants. You can however control some other planes, but their avionics are mostly based on the F-16 avionics with appropriate tweaks. Should be satisfactory nevertheless, but on that point DCS is more advanced. I haven't touched Falcon4 is quite a while. I had the original edition with the box, played it a lot back in the early 2000's when the first community-made patches appeared. I haven't tried BMS yet but they have recently added VR so I'm very tempted 🙂
  18. Falcon BMS is one of the only sims with a dynamic campaign engine, that drives the conflict on the whole map at once. You're not the only guy there having a mission. The AI is driving all the other aircraft which have missions too, both on allies and ennemies sides... and also on ground. Destroying a bridge has an effect on the supply chain, the state of the field is kept from a mission to another and evolves without you. Also the available missions will depend on how the situation on the field evolves. You're flying through a real war, so to say. Not through pre-defined missions where you know precisely how many and where ennemies will appear once you're done it two or three times. As far as I remember, Falcon 4 and EF2000 were the only flightsims with a dynamic campaign, and there are still considered the best ones ever made so far.
  19. The thing is, I'm enjoying VR since 2018 or 2019, something like that. Haven't come back ever to 2D since that. So I know how to enjoy VR. The limitation was ok in the beginning, but after all these years, it's becoming annoying. And in some case, it's starting to be a real handicap: close formation flying, aerial refuelling, even helicopter flying in some cases... The lack of peripheral vision is becoming an issue I am less and less able to ignore.
  20. Unfortunately, many people believe it's ok to post pictures in PNG format 😞
  21. Could it be that you MSFS window position went bad and like out of the screen ? Try clicking on the taskbar, and select one of the choices like "cascade windows" or "set windows side by side"... not sure about the exact titles in English, sorry...
  22. I'd take the C172, but only if it comes with tundra/bush and float versions (and without glass cockpit of course). The Aerostar, I couldn't care less. I'm not surprised by the absence of warbirds. A2A doesn't care about these anymore.
  23. I see what you are trying to imply here, but please don't think that everybody here doesn't know a thing about VR (the actual word is not allowed on the forum ??? lol...). The way VR works by the principle of stereoscopic images, IPD etc... are all very clear to many people here 🙂
  24. So just to clarify, I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm saying that the claimed "enhancements" are actually downgrades. I don't think that's how VR is implemented... IPD is implemented in two places: your headset and in the sim. If one of them doesn't match your actual IPD, you simply get an incorrect vision of the 3D world. You don't get a better or worse one, you get either a correct or an incorrect one. Of course everybody is free to enjoy a warped vision of reality. I'm just a bit hesitant to call this "boost" or "enhancement".
  25. I don't really understand how this would work... I mean, in VR the perception of depth is just created thanks to the IPD. The FOV is physically determined by the headset specs. If one of these are set to a wrong value, your whole perception is flawed and does not match real world anymore, right ? So then, what's the trick here ?
