MSFS 2024 - EGLL: Two overlapping scenery

Featured Replies

Hello,

In the MSFS 2024 community, I placed the EGLL scenery from Iniscene V 3.1.4.

When I land, the runway displays two center lines. So, apparently, the EGLL scenery from Iniscene is overlapping the MSFS 2024 Premium scenery. Furthermore, during the final approach, I experience significant stuttering+++.

NB: In MSFS 2020, EGLL Iniscene excludes the scenery by default.

Are you experiencing this problem? If so, what is the solution?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your answers and advice.

@andym001, I have the MSFS 2020 iniscene version. For the Inibuilds 2024 version, I would have to add £21.99; that's a bit excessive.

@GSalden, No. I don't know how to do it.

In your Content Library you search for EGLL and deactivate the default one.

If you have the 2020 version, there is an upgrade price. Code at checkout is EGLL-UG

I put a link in my previous post on how to disable default content.

@andym001 Thanks for both pieces of information: resetting EGLL and disabling airports.

However, I'm going to have some work to do because I have about a hundred airports 🥵

Regarding scene priority, it's a shame MSFS 2024 doesn't work like MSFS 2020.

Pour la scène EGLL 2024, dois-je également désactiver EGLL de MSFS ?

Yeah, it's quite obvious that if I put a scenery addon in the community folder, I want to use it instead of the default.

Another stupid regression.

If you use Add-On Linker you can have it scan for duplicate sceneries so that you know which ones to deactivate

I agree it should be easier, but there is a free tool that can do this for your automagic

https://flightsim.to/file/85365/airport-override-checker-for-msfs-2024

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I've been using that and it's been very helpful.  It did find one or two that I had forgotten to disable.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Another stupid regression.

Because "hand crafted" airports are also addons, most addon airports that have a "hand crafted" version in the
simulator require that the "hand crafted" version is first disabled.

Airports that do not have a "hand crafted" version, do not require the default version to be disabled
and indeed cannot be disabled, but it is required that the addon developer has excluded default buildings.

In that respect, it is just as it has always been, two addons in the same airport have always caused problems.
It is difficult to see how it could be otherwise.

Arguably, it is neither stupid, nor a regression.

Why then it doesn't happen that you have multiple overlapping buildings in the same place when you put ORBX Dubai, London, etc. in the community folder? These cities are full of "handcrafted" buildings and landmarks.

I reiterate: If I put something in the community folder, it is obvious that I want to use it.

The sim should disable what's at its coordinates by default, handcrafted or not.

It's obvious, it's an operating principle present in Xplane XX and in MSFS 2020: the community is read first and in this the first scene read excludes the reading of the other identical scenes
