  1. After uninstalling gaming services and xbox app in windows/settings/apps, I rebooted and reinstalled the xbox app. I also added the xbox app to startup apps and everything started and ran fine this morning, so this may have resolved the issue for anyone who still has it. If that didn't work, I was considering re-enabling hibernate on my system until the problem was solved (I have just installed a much bigger C drive to my system so have the storage to be able to do this now).
  2. I hope not as I use the Nvidia App for my DLAA, DLSS, framegen and dynamic framegen settings. Sadly after resolving yesterday by following the instructions above, the issue came back again after booting up this morning, causing me to have to repeat the process. I really hope I'm not going to have to do this every day.
  3. Thanks everyone. I think I uninstalled gaming services and the xbox app in windows settings/apps. Even though my xbox app was up to date, this seems to have worked. Sadly, I removed all my recent scenery addons and tried a rrepair to msfs2024 before this and that has caused a few more headaches for me. Glad to get things up and running again though.
  4. Same problem here, but how do you uninstall gaming services?
  5. As nobody else is repirting issues and MS servers are reporting no issues, I would suspect that it is a problem with your own internet connection. Other than that, a configuration issue with your computer maybe.
  6. ASOBO said early on that 32 gb was sufficient for MSFS2024 and you only needed morer if you ran a lot of high RAM usage stuff (e.g. video editing software) in the background.
  7. Certainly addon scenery can affect performance particularly where you have several airports close together. Your system is good enough to use most of them though. All of the ones you mention are quite heavy on VRAM usage, but your 4090 should have plenty for that. I hit my 16 gb VRAM limit on a few if I don't turn my settings down a little. TLOD, OLPD and texture quality being the most limiting. Samscene new York v2 is particularly hard hitting for me, though v1 was never an issue. I have found Samscene stuff especially hard hitting, particularly the newer more recently updated ones compared to the earlier versions. Generally the worst for me is third party freeware photo scenery. The larger cities, of course being the worst - some of the designers sem to optimise them better than others though. Limiting framerates, using autoFPS (or similar) and/or just turning the main liiting settings down a little is usually the best solution if you want to use some of the above.
  8. One thing to note about FSLTL trafic is that you can fly with it at one airport and it stutters, then fly at the same airport tomorrow and it doesn't. Now whilst this could be down to MS servers or your ISP, it's worth remembering that at different times of the day, there will be more air traffic movements than others which means that FSLTL is working harder to create and render them.
  9. A couple of possible solutions: 1. Lower your FSLTL traffic settings 2. Reduce the texture size of the FSLTL aircraft (which is a bit of a ballache and I have no idea why FSLTL will not offer us the option to download 2k rather than 4k textures)
  10. ATC that actually works (although 2020 wasn't brilliant, it did actually work for VFR).
  11. I've noticed this happen at one or two airports and have no idea why. It always seemed to happen at Laguardia for some reason, though it recently seems to have stopped (maybe a deveoper update at some point?)
  12. As a RW pilot, I can categorically state that the PAPI lights in MSFS are definitely not as bright or visible as they are in the real world. Maybe there could be something in the graphics settings that would make them more visible, but I am yet to find it.
  13. Sorry Bob, my mistake. Should have looked more closely at the number and date. Thanks for posting the correct link.
  14. FYI, though I am not in the beta myself: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-5-beta-1-7-10-0-release-notes-march-9-2026/760006
  15. Either slow MS servers or your ISP is giving you slower speeds during peak hours of useage I suspect.
  16. One of my biggest irritations is that a landmark so well known as Lands End is represented as ugly generic buildings and that neither ASOBO or any other developer (Payware or freeware) has ever recreated something that I would guess would be fairly simple and straightforward. Superspud has done Newquay, Culdrose, Lands End Airport and the Scillys pretty well and there are a few other airport addons for Bodmin, Roche Barton and I believe Truro.. I think there is also a payware Lands End Airport and I believe UK2000 did Newquay. So that does liven up Cornwall a little.
  17. I've downloaded the new DLSS files, know what settings to use in the Nvidia app but unsure what settings to use in MSFS2024. Can someone confirm? Also, I tried preset B and found it very blurrry/unclear compared to preset K. Presets L & M seem to cause performance and use more VRAM - Is preset B absolutely necessary? I use DLAA rather than DLSS. Will this also work with DLAA?
  18. The latest dlls files still seem to be 310.5.3. Should there not be new ones 3.10.6?
  19. There is a freeware for Bath (By Mark Taylor) which is very good (Roughly where you start the approach to EGGD). It's quite old but works perfectly. I've been using it for a long time. There is also another for Lyon (ByThalixte) which I also use. There are also a few freeware adons for Manchester by Skell which are worth having and of course Samscene3D if you don't mind paying a small amount (Not photogrammetry, but they do help).
  20. Turkey and Greece would be nice. The images and DEM in these areas are awful. South Korea might be interesting too. There are many other parts of the world that would also be nice, but MS can't seem to get the data (e.g. Africa, Russia and China).
  21. Looks interesting - I don't know much about this or how it works, but here is a link you may find interesting and perhaps those with a little more knowledge and understanding may like to comment on:
  22. Interiors are a wast of resources for me as well, but my bigest bugbear is the size of some of the files, which are absolutely enormous. I do like the designers who allow us to disable the interiors but it would be nice if we could delete all of the related textures as well. Another is the developers who take your money for an airport but don't update them when needed leaving you with an airport you are maybe unable to use properly (e.g after a world update).
  23. It will but if you have disabled any handcrafted airports because you are using adons instead, I think you have to go through and disable them again.
  24. I think there have been server issues on and off today. First thing this morning I kept getting a waiting for authentication message and this evening, MSFS was reporting that it could not connect to the X Box app. This morning performance was a bit flaky and this evening pretty stuttery. During the middle of the day, everything was running quite smootly without any issues. I've been flying in the same areas with the same settings and addons all day.
  25. Same thing happened to me this morning. Tried to start MSFS2024 3 times and each time got this message. A quick reboot seems to have resolved. I also suspect a server glitch Bert.
