A little offtopic here but could you please share your Nvidia filter settings ? Thanks Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive

The terrain textures should be defined on it. I am a bit skeptical about performance too though. I am not sure if it changes anything (or if performance decrease could be due to AI traffic). Does high LOD mode perform any better, worse than standard? "I am a bit skeptical about performance too though" I have never had a drop in performance and I have been using Google Map Enhancement for years now without any problems. It's super light!

I don't use it for my flights, I prefer the more natural default rendering. However, I reduce the brightness (-15) of the ground thanks to the Google map improvement options. With Nvidia filter it is impossible to find the right settings that give satisfaction in all scenarios and it depends on what you want to see and the settings of your screen monitor.

Is it the same just with better resolution? 2. How is performance compared to default? 3. Can this mod mess up my installation? 1. Map Enhancement tool will allow you to select higher resolution than default. 2. I haven't noticed a difference. 3. No. All the app is doing is redirecting your request for textures to a different server. The only thing you must do is press the STOP button before you exit the app. This resets your PC back to the MSFS servers next time you use MSFS, if you don't use the Map Enhancement Tool. May 30, 20242 yr I tried this map enhancement thing today for the first time, it works well and the scenery looks much better than before, but it works good with light GA airplanes not with the liners because starting from about 12k/15k and above we can see tiles forming at distance. May be necessary raising the LOD? Anyway, no visible impact on GPU and CPU, but the app working in background occupies about 1Gb RAM with 10% CPU peaks. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

May 30, 20242 yr It does indeed look much crisper. Cool. Makes you wonder why they don’t use more high-res imagery by default. It‘s the same data source after all. i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2
May 30, 20242 yr ARCGis is the best of all providers IMO but I only fly in the USA and Canada and don't use PG. Bing tiles are purple / brown in the American west where the coloration of ARCGis tiles have realistic color. Also, I believe it has the least load of them all. sp Edited May 30, 20242 yr by Sky_Pilot071

Every now and then I see threads like this filled with praise, I try it again, and terrain is constantly being drawn in the distance. Even with high TLOD IIRC. But of course I can't help it trying it for another time 😂 Downloaded latest from github, installed. It should be started before MSFS, right? Anything I should change in settings or does it just work out of the box? EDIT: I see that @filou has provided detailed instructions. Tested with the new Bing maps and now seeing proper grey roads - that alone is worth it for me. Definitely noticing more detail running the high LOD although not a massive jump - perhaps since I'm using it in VR with the Quest 3. Might see a bigger improvement when I get my hands on the Crystal Light. Did a low and slow flight round the Isle of Man and it looked great and no more bright green and purple tiles around that location! Was flying between 500-3000 ft. Will repeat the same flight again this evening with default to compare as I took some mental notes about a couple of locations and the detail I was seeing. Also recommend Filou's tip of lowering the brightness -15 as out of the box, it did look too bright. All in all, it's a noticeable step up in visuals for GA flying and I'm hoping Asobo have plans to use this newer imagery in MSFS 2024 and ideally with the High LOD as an option. May 31, 20242 yr Hmm, still getting tiles loading which is very distracting. Has happened with every version of the mod that I've tried over the years. I was using ArcGIS, high LOD, cache 5, TLOD (AutoFPS) 975. FL280. Any remedy for this? 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
