  1. That mod is an utter game changer. I can't believe it's free, or that it isn't in the base game to start with. Completely transforms night flying. I wish the moon wasn't so bright also. You can make out fields and stuff while flying at midnight which is pretty crazy.
  2. Strange. I would say it's my internet, as I've moved temporarily, but the PG is absolutely fine and I'm getting 150mbps down. I'll take a look at the server suggestion, thank you.
  3. Hi all I am on fast, fiber internet, a 5090, running in 4K. I run MSFS locked at 30FPS with 3X Frame Gen, and not the dynamic settings, but custom, most things on high. I am struggling with absolutely dreadful terrain and have been for about a week now. I have used the latest beta, and the current build of MSFS 2024. / My photogrammetry streams in well. I don't get stuttering. My LOD is fixed at 200 which has always served me pretty well. However my terrain, especially in the near distance looks like utter mush and has been all week. Are others getting this? Increasing LOD to 300, no improvement. The areas covered by PG look crisp, sharp, and load in pretty quickly.
  4. Before I moved to the other competitor I found FShud to be a really solid performer. A bit on rails, but I didn't have half the issues that I had with BATC.
  5. Who is "they"? I fly with SayIntentions and despite the high cost, I never, ever get flown into a mountain.
  6. Is there any reason why photogrammetry should cause my rig to stutter on some days and not on others? Even getting GPU usage warnings. Flying Paris to Copenhagen. Smooth take off, stutter fest coming into Copenhagen, but fine once I turned it off. Have never had problems with it previously
  7. I've had heavy stutters and VRAM warnings at custom EIDW with PG on today, where I wouldn't normally get that.
  8. An absolute no. Surely if you want to see AI aircraft you enable AI traffic. If you don't want them moving then most providers provide separate sliders for ground traffic and aerial traffic. Else they just get in the way.
  9. But if we're still dealing with throttled terrain resolution based on MSFS's streaming capabilities through the cloud, is there really going to be much difference? I guess the aircraft and airports may look better.
  10. I feel the blurry mush of terrain distant mountains even at high LOD and 4K more disconcerting than the overall sharpness. The terrain resolution has clearly really been nerfed.
  11. You have to use the shambles default ATC, which is why I don't touch career mode.
  12. I say go for it. It's a complete gamechanger, with the caveat that it's not perfect at distance. I'm flying over central Asia at the moment and it's not covered in every dirt track being lit up like a christmas tree. Just lit up areas for towns and the odd freeway. It looks totally authentic. With AB's presets on Atmos I don't even notice anything disappearing in the distance. What I don't like is how night time isn't dark enough though. I can see all the snow and the contours of the mountains, even at midnight. That's nothing to do with your mod though. A great mod. hope it gets more traction. it's completely transforming my night flying. You're not even charging for it, and it's completely transformative.
  13. Yeah, really important this. Such a great mod. I'm amazed it's not getting raved about more.
  14. Yeah AB is the goated champion. Anything that stops us having to actually use the Atmos interface is a good thing. Save them, set them to autoload, and forget. There is always a tradeoff when you start tinkering with Atmos, and AB is the closest to real. I always like a bit more haze.
  15. Which are these? I'm on FSLTL and they are borked too. It's ridiculous, flying into a tricky procedure into an incredibly detailed airport, having flown through incredible clouds and lighting, high res detailed rendition of the world, and the AI traffic are floating about.
  16. It's pretty much the only thing that's missing for me. My heart sank when I saw my floaty AI traffic in the beta and knew that nothing could be done. Pretty much perfectly content with the rest of the sim.
  17. Yep I've tried Atmos and just can't get along with it. Ended up flying in what looked like the atmosphere of Venus in order to cull the distant lights. I've got the superb DLOD extender that is updated already, running a LOD of 400. Well I still get some very distant highways showing at cruise altitude, but I guess I'll have to make that tradeoff for it looking better all round. Let's hope Asobo can implement something that culls all the way to the horizon. Wonderful mod.
  18. For anyone looking to use this wonderful add on in MSFS 2024 SU5, using Rex Atmos, particle scattering needs to be on 0.15. That gives you haze at about the moment that the lights stop getting culled. It looks good during the day (but obviously a bit more hazy, but not too much), and at night you don't get the popout effect. I have an Atmos preset under "Langeveldt" for this. It looks wonderful, now I'm going to go and fly. Properly good atmospherics in the day, and no more glowing rural areas. @kiwikat @John-Allen
  19. Yeah i've just fired it up again with the AB Atmos presets. It's really close to perfection this, but a bit of a buzzkill when on snapping to a window view you get some lit streets disappear out in the distance suddenly. Very close. So nice not to have glowing bright rural areas at night. If they could push whatever is culling the street lights out another 25% that would be perfect. (or all the way to the horizon at about FL390). At the moment you start noticing it about FL250 and upwards. I'd be happy to test more extensively if you need me to @kiwikat, but it seems like we are up against a brick wall with the sim even on SU5 beta.
  20. You read my mind. I've just tried that. I really really dislike Rex Atmos as a product, it's UI. Problem is then you are making it hazy during the day too. I did try bringing haze in and even in the cruise I could see lights pop out as they got closer. Not sure it's a long term solution. Let me know if you find a preset that looks good.
  21. @kiwikat I gave this a go tonight quickly over central Spain. My first thoughts are, really encouraging. However I still find the limitations of the sim a bit immersion breaking. At cruise altitude I would get far away freeways lit up that would disappear as I got closer. For me it's a bit immersion breaking to see that. I know it's a limitation with the sim, not with your add-on. It looked absolutely amazing around the aircraft. I really hope this limitation can be tackled somehow. (This was in SU5. I know it's a lot better than in SU4) I dropped you a vote for mod of the month on flightsim.to, as I feel it's such a massive benefit to have properly dark scenes at night. It looked really good. Just wish we could have the effect all the way to the horizon.
  22. The only time I've seen issues with stuttering has been due to poor third party airport scenery. The biggest culprit being KDFW. Hung for about 10 seconds while everything loaded in on short finals. Otherwise I get solid and smooth 30FPS 3x upscaled.
  23. Hi all Have never ever seen this before, but suddenly I can't get to the holding point without all gauges turning red and the message "WASM crash" on the 2024 PMDG 737. Have updated the aircraft. Not sure where to go from here. TIA!
  24. Yep, I lock in at 30FPS and then 3X multiply. If it misses a beat it's because of a poorly optimised airport or photogrammetry loading in. Otherwise absolute butter.
