If you delete unwanted liveries, how do YOU update aircraft?

Featured Replies

Yeah, now it is recognized but doesn't seem to override anything. Maybe because it's an encrypted config in the case of the A310?

So... no ideas regarding this topic? I'm a bit picky about having liveries and/or aircraft i don't use in the simulator and would really like to get rid of those...  😛

Just reinstalled my C310R to get the update and immediately went in and removed the liveries I don't want again. Took about 90 seconds. Why is this seen as being complicated? If there is another update I will just do the same.

The A310's aircraft.cfg is encrypted. Not that simple, eh?

My method which I described on page 1 is working very good.

No need to do anything after any update, is it MSFS updates or from e.g. PMDG

And you have the advantage that with Addon Linker you can enable and disable addons as you like.

And if you arange your main wanted livery in alphabetical order as first (e.g. 00-PMDG Lufthansa), you do have a very clean main aircraft selection page where you do not have to click and search any more

Then you can't do it. SImple.

I'm new to MSFS so forgive my ignorance. I have a bunch of Kodiak liveries I don't need. Do I do this through the content manager?

No you have to do it manually. With the Kodiak it is a lot of work! You would need to go into the Airplanes folder delete the liveries you don't want (making sure that the ones you want to keep don't call on any files from those you want to delete) and then edit and renumber the entries in the aircraft.cfg. With the Kodiak I have got it down to one livery per variant. I don't know what possessed them to offer so many.

Again, there seems to be a way to override the [FLTSIM.X] entries, and that's what i'm after. It doesn't seem to work in some cases though.

If i were to give up that easy in my position at work...

Think you just answered your own question.😉 It's time consuming, especially if you have a lot of aircraft to update.

With the Kodiak, yes. Usually, not so much.
