  1. Finally! I'm still on a semi-enforced lay-off from simming after moving house (priorities!), but when I set things up again, this is a must buy. My maternal grandfather served in 109 Squadron (hence my username & avatar), so it's wonderful to finally see the B aircraft get some love, with the real word only seemingly interested in building FBVI replicas. AH's livery panel is a little messed up though. They correctly label F fro Freddie as 'HS-F' but label the 105 Sqn plane as 'A-GB' when it should be GB-A, as the dual letters of course refer to the squadron, with the single letter referring to the individual aircraft. If they'd used the starboard side view for the templates, it would have made more sense as all the aircraft would then be 'Sqn-Aircraft'. I hope the bomb bay doors are customizable, because the video shows a B.IV with two circular windows in them. Those are ports for photo reconnaissance (PR.) marques, not the bombers. Plus, there needs to be the option to blackout the bomb-aimer's window. Probably minor points to most people but they irk me!๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Cat calling is rightly frowned upon these days.๐Ÿ˜‰ I was almost prepared to believe it was real for the first couple of seconds (despite the depth of focus issues and unusually high press presence) because it was Fuji Speedway and I wouldn't put the Japanese past doing something like that!๐Ÿ™„
  3. I'd see a doctor about that. ๐Ÿคญ Dry this morning here, followed by drizzle so light that I didn't see it slowly re-dampening the laundry which had been enjoying the light breeze. ๐Ÿ˜’ Properly raining now. At least the dry, chilly and light winds for tomorrow should be more pleasant for picking up my keys...
  4. Thanks. One of my niece's partners was in removals, so he's offered to drive a van for me, so all I have to concern myself with is hiring it and filling it! And watching the weather forecast.๐Ÿคž Not the best time of year to move house, but beggars can't be choosers.
  5. Cheers. Moving home is stressful enough without the addition of extreme weather!
  6. It certainly is! The Central Belt (That's predominantly Glasgow in the west to Edinburgh in the east and up into the southern areas of Fife is taking a right beating. One Ryanair flight from Stansted inexplicably* tried to land in Edinburgh late this morning, despite nothing flying below 30,000 ft around that part of the country. Took one loop around Peebles, another before lining up with Runway 24 and finally did a go around before heading back to Stansted (with Flightradar originally showing it as diverting to Cologne!). From my vantage point, a couple of miles away, it looked like a smooth enough approach (too far to detect wing wobble) but I'm sure it would have been a pretty rough experience for everyone on board. *Probably trying to avoid delay payouts rather than achieving customer satisfaction. Personally, I was supposed to be travelling to pick up the keys to my new property. No transport means it'll be Monday now. Hope it's still there when I arrive!๐Ÿ˜
  7. If we get a Close Encounters of the Third Kind DLC, you might get the crew back, sans aircraft.โ˜บ๏ธ
  8. The last 7 posts have not been about the topic raised. If there's even the most remotest chance of Avsim reconsidering (though I'll eat my virtual hat if that happens๐Ÿ˜‰), diluting the original motive of the thread isn't likely to help the cause. I know it's common for threads to wander off-topic, but in this case... Oh, and in before the seemingly inevitable๐Ÿ”’
  9. Oh dear. Normally I try to at least skim read every post in a thread before responding, but in this case... ๐Ÿ˜ถ I've no intention of sounding smug when I say this, but I'm glad I'm not ready to be installing 2024 for some time yet. Fingers crossed everyone gets up and running soon. And I think the advice not to complicate their initial experiences in the sim by porting 2020 add-ons too soon is all the more pertinent.
  10. We're like almost any family really: a bunch of people with something that binds us together, but which causes the odd squabble. Sometimes we have makeup... err... posts after a disagreement, sometimes we never speak again! There's the odd black sheep in the family (who insists on still using A. N. Other sim๐Ÿ˜‰), but we either tolerate or ignore them (unless they bug us too much๐Ÿคช). But, for the most part, we get along pretty well. I hope that my contributions to the forum have been largely popular, helpful (and humorous where they were intended to be) , and I equally appreciate the positive contributions others have made to make my MSFS experience better. Until such time as I buy 2024, I'll probably be a bit miffed at my family members going on and on about their latest purchase, but I'll keep up with the Jones's in time. ๐Ÿ˜Š Here's to the next next page in the family album. ๐Ÿ“ธ ๐Ÿป๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‰
  11. Well, it wouldn't - they're different sims! ๐Ÿ˜‰ No hurry for me. As I've stated previously, I will have greater demands on my finances and time than buying and using a new sim. So, I'll have the self-enforced luxury of waiting until the initial bedding-in period has occurred, and initial bugs identified and hopefully fixed before using a vanilla 2024. After that, I'll see what I can remove from it (fingers crossed for no more 'Aviators liveries' and a UI that allows for simple removal of unwanted liveries without manual editing and deletion of files๐Ÿคž), followed by gradually installing compatible products. Could take some time, but no rush.
  12. Not doubting the Honey Badger's grit, but they were toying with it as a domestic cat plays with a mouse without killing it. Part of the learning process. It's just that in this case, the leopards probably got a few bites and scratches themselves. Both are mustelids, so in fact they are. Unfortunately, this Honey Badger didn't fare so well in a battle with a Red Bull.๐Ÿ˜‘ Still, wouldn't want to go up against that set of teeth!
  13. No need to be over-sensitive - perhaps you missed the winking smiley. As for the previous thread, it was only on the second page. If we kept reposting things when they left page one, the forum would be a chaotic mess.

They've good reason to be scared: Even Snoop wasn't safe!: I used to be a big fan of LIMU Emu... and Doug, but wondered why they tried to replace them: That's until his darker side was revealed:
  15. Nevermind the floods, what about the pestilence?๐Ÿ˜„
  16. Almost worth it for the sounds alone! ๐Ÿ‘Œ When the alarm test bell was ringing, I almost expected to hear it launch into Pink Floyd's "Time" from Dark Side of the Moon! ๐Ÿ˜
  17. It's so worth noting that the fauna markings don't show the precise location of the particular creatures, just their approximate location, so you may need to fly around the general location to spot them.
  18. Whilst you can't (or shouldn't) delete the base liveries in case of the above reason, you can at least alter the default order of liveries for those aircraft where the aircraft.cfg file is accessible. In those files, the liveries are numbered sequentially from 0 upwards, with 0 being the base livery. You can simply swap the numbers around, so if you most use the third livery (which would have the number 2), change it to 0 to make it appear first in the livery selection list, remembering to change the existing 0 to 2. You can therefore reorder all the liveries for the aircraft in question and the base default files are unaffected. I explained this in more detail in this post: click here.
  19. Yes, the population of Kiribati ballooned in a matter of minutes! ๐Ÿ˜„
  20. Well, they are new details if you haven't seen or heard anything about the new sim before watching that video. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. Nothing wrong with that video IMO. Not every video or interview has to be for the hardcore simmer, and I'm sure "busy" Jรถrg appreciates the occasional opportunity to just quickly chat enthusiastically about the sim. There are so many youtubers who'll go into the minutae of the sim on their channels. This is just an alternative way of promoting what's new and coming up. If anything 'annoys' or amuses me, it's the fact that, whilst I understand the sensitivities of the subject, the FW200 didn't just 'disappear' when the war started, it became a maritime patrol and reconnaissance bomber and transporter, and became a replacement for the Ju52 as word not allowed's personal transport. Frankly, most German developments at the time had pre-planned military use considered. Even the in-sim info makes no mention of its later military use and it's not as though there are no other military connections in the Marketplace (albeit all unarmed). But as for the video, horses for courses.
  22. I'd be waiting for the same. I bought Premium Deluxe after testing the sim with a free trial of Game Pass. In the time since, I've replaced many of the extra airports and aircraft with better add-ons. If they are to be compatible, it will take more to entice me to buy more than a basic version (assuming there will actually be multiple versions). Additionally, I will wait to see what hardware upgrades may be needed or advantageous over my current setup as I may by then be in a position to build or buy a new rig. With all the above in mind, I'm quite happy to wait and see what the feedback is like for the first few weeks and potentially months before making a decision. No rush for me, especially as I have far bigger demands on my finances in the months ahead. To answer the question actually asked, I'm certainly prepared for the potential of disappointment. And I'm far less likely to be disappointed if I bide my time...
