Hi Guys I hope everyone is well. Am looking for some advice. Currently my PC is running Windows 10 1909 home edition and runs my two sims pretty smoothly ( FSX and P3D 4.5). I have now received a notification that Windows 10 2004 version is now available for my machine, I seem to remember reading on the forums that some people had problems with this version though it was some time ago. To be honest right now am scared to update it as really don't want any problems, is it safe to update? Hello, recently Win10 Pro started to act up and would not let me delete files in my very own folders. Never had problems to far. Let me say when I set up Win10 I created an Admin account and a user account, the one I am using (it's just a single-user PC). I have drive C as the system drive (SSD) and D for files and storage (HDD). I would want the user account to have access to the D drive. So after the above problems arised I tried to change the UAC settings for drive D, but I am having problems. Shortly after updating windows 10, P3Dv5 has been starting in a weird windows mode. The right side of my screen is visible approx. 2". The windows bar is visible at the bottom. When I "ALT ENTER", the right side of the screen fills in but P3D is still in windows mode until I "ALT ENTER" again, after the second time, I have full screen. I have to do this all of the time. Hello: I'm running Windows 10 64. When I open up and check on drivers in the device manager, it says I'm running the most current/best drivers for device. However I have Iobit driver booster installed and I keep getting a pop-up to update 3 drivers. Which one do I believe? Windows or drive booster? Thanks!

Well, title is self explaining. Just for curiosity... Me, I use Vivaldi. I was a die-hard Opera user until they started using Chromium, so that's why I'm there.

I am using IObit software--both free and premium, in addition to Windows Defender. I have Advanced SystemCare (free), Smart Game Booster, Defragment tool, IOBit software updater. Recently, I uninstalled McAfee software from my system (I figured that was the only software actively eating up my RAM), but I am still having RAM issues and slow performance. In addition, FSX is still freezing. Is there anyone using IObit software? What are the challenges?

I'm considering going from home to pro. Looks like it is more of a feature unlock compared to a new OS. Has anybody done this upgrade? Obviously my main question is if it creates any weird flight sim issues with permissions/activations. that kind of thing. thanks in advance.

Anyone go the latest build yet I got my update last week and no problems everything working fine

Windows 10 insists on seeing my TQ6 as a yoke. I have a CH Eclipse yoke also which usually calibrates without problems. The screenshot explains this better than words. The problem is that without calibration the throttles have a large dead zone and do not reach maximum power. I use FSUIPC and can see this from the values, not to mention problems during takeoff.... I'd be grateful for any ideas how to address this. Thanks!

Ya know, sometimes MS manages to tick me off. That's hard to do as I have a very calm demeanor. Part 1: My CPU fan died. P3D was crashing, my bluetooth driver started crashing, then outlook started crashing, etc.. The fan alarm function of my (former - wait for it...) Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z390 motherboard was set, but did not work. I had to put the computer up onto the desk and pull the cover to see that the fan wasn't spinning. No problem. I run Windows 10 at a resolution of 3840*2160. That is fine for most programs but one gives me visibility problems and it’s necessary to drop down to 1920*1080 to see it clearly. Is there any way I can run it in a separate window (ideally 1920*1080) so I can see the text clearly? The author is no longer around and in any case has sold the software used to create it. The program’s window is fixed. I’ve looked at Program Compatibility settings but it’s limited to 640*480 and the whole display changes rather than just the application window.

For some reason files I have downloaded and installed for MSFS keep on appearing on my desktop. I delete them them, empty my bin and after that they all pop up back to my desktop (where I have never put them!). Quite annoying. How to stop this? Anyone, please?

hi I hope someone understands this and hopefully able to help,(sorry for the poor explanation) I have just noticed an issue with searching for a zipped file, in certain cases which i will try to explain. if using a windows search and/or looking at folders/drives that contain zipped files I have no issues, and all look like they show up. but when a program is running and is looking for a zipped file no zipped files are shown. so as an example i use the aig oci manager for my ai aircraft and as one of my payware ai aircraft has been updated then oci picked it up It informed me that i had to manually download the new zipped file (which I have done). So I "tried" to make the plunge to Win10. I have Win7 Pro, I got the downloader and it recognized the "pro" version and installed Win10 Pro. Three "other than flightsim" programs were deleted due to incompatibilities, not really and issue. Right out of the gate I had major issues. 1. Launch to black screen issue, documented very well already. 2. My MS Outlook had issues, Firefox was made non working. 3. The all important "Settings" app did not work, everything was greyed out, which makes the system pretty much useless. I went into safe mode and tried fixes. I assume this is a win10 issue but when starting P3D4, P3D5, MSFS, LittleNavmap and possibly other apps I often get two instances as shown in the task manager process list. This can occur even after a hard shutdown. My work around is to monitor Task Manager when starting these apps and delete the duplicate. But is is quite annoying. Does anyone know of a more permanent fix. Thank you. Bruceb

Hello. I‘m having a very annoying problem here ( WIN 10 / Version 2004 ) When using Fs2Crew for the Pmdg 747, the system lowers the volume of the backgrounds sounds ( Engines / Fans / etc ) as long as the F/O is speaking. When the F/O is finished, the volume is reverted to normal. I‘ve tried to set the „Communications“ tab in the WIN 10 sound settings to „do nothing“. As well, I‘ve uninstalled the Realtek Audio driver and reverted to Windows Driver. All no joy at all. I‘m using onboard sound of my MSI Z490 Gaming Carbon Wifi Board and do not know what to do anymore. Any advise is highly appreciated. Best regards, Toto

Hi all, I face a very frustrating and annoying issue. It doesn't happen every time and its not simulator specific. I saw it happen in P3Dv5.1 and in XP11 11.5. At some point in the flight, I noticed it in more than 2 hours flights so far, I see this: the whole simulator freezes every 1 second for around half second. This loop keeps going and there is no cure but to restart my computer and reload a saved flight. I opened the windows process explorer and did not notice something unusual, or at least I couldn't spot it with a glance if it was something there. My question is, has anyone seen this before? And maybe you have any obvious clues to search for? …

Seen a lot of references to this problem, but not really a consensus, and here I am at Windows 10 Pro installed on 10/22/2020, OS Build 19042.630 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0. I'm not going to rant. This is not like any Windows I've ever had to deal with. When I find one day that most of my P3Dv5.1 Addons have paths to OneDrive, this seems like a problem to me. Right now I'm sucking up most of the bandwidth in southern Illinois attempting to put 94 Gb of stuff back where I left it on my own computer. The OneDrive options seems purposely baffling. Can't do anything. Every repair option PC goes to restart. Can't go Safe because Critical Process died. Can't system restore because system sees drive X: and not 😄 Can't reinstall windows because Critical Process Died. Any thoughts?

I needed to go to Carenado to reinstall some planes after a total Windows reinstallation. Edge wouldn't load their site. Too many redirects. Tried several times, same problem. Logged into Carenado on my phone. No problem. Back to Edge. Cleared cookies and such. Same problem. Downloaded Chrome. Logged into Carenado immediately. What's up with MS Edge browser?
