PC12 FSX | P3D

  1. Started by Poncho,

I have both of these and have now done a couple back to back flight comparisons, and found the Flight 1 to be the better of the two for several reasons. Now I should state I have about a dozen Carenado aircraft in my hanger and have always liked them. I find them easy to operate and fly with good FPS. I'm not a RW pilot and I don't know these aircraft well enough to pick apart the little details in the Sim aircraft. I just like to get in and fly. In my opinion the Carenado looks better as you would expect. However that being said the F1 certainly is not ugly, and I have no problems with it's graphics. I can't compare how they stack up systems wise because I simpl…

There is a weather radar gauge in the library, rolasnradar-v09.zip, how can I use this over the current weather radar gauge that does not do a good job?

  3. I have seen a number of comments here regarding the lack of repaints for the PC12, so in response I uploaded three fictional repaints for the PC12 this morning, and just verified that they are now active and available in the Avsim library in the FSX Miscellaneous library section. I have a couple others that I am still working on, and if people seem to like the current ones, I'll go ahead and post them as well once complete.

Cheers

Is there a better way to get a better view of the overhead electrical panel than the tilted sideways view I can manage with the POV hat? A rather important panel.

What will we do with you... Just realised that the default white paint template actually has the two paint dds files slightly mismatched in colour. The hues and brightness must have been accidentally adjusted in cpcd_ext1 when they made the blank paint version as it doesn't affect their default paints. Might see if they're willing to send a corrected white paint version.

  11. Started by Bert Pieke,

The EHSI heading is affected by gyro drift in the sim.. If you have Gyro Drift set to off in the Realism settings, this should not affect you.. However if it still occurs, you can add a line to an Update section to check for drift, and reset the Gyro (same as pushing the "D" key). For example in the EHSIVC xml file, there is an Update section near the top. Add the highlighted line: <Update> <Script> (A:PLANE HEADING DEGREES GYRO, radians) (A:PLANE HEADING DEGREES MAGNETIC, radians) != if{ (>K:HEADING_GYRO_SET) } (L:EHSIInit) 0 == if{ Alternately, you could replace GYRO by MAGNETIC further down…

I noticed that it tends to nose down really far but still remain level. I added lift scaler 0.5 pitch scaler 1,0 drag scaler 10.0 to the flap.0 section I think I made it better, but not sure, it seems a little flatter. does anyone else have any adjustments? anyone else noticing this. I have sp1 and Bert's after sp1 patches

  13. If you guys want to use the grey incr/decr slider on your Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS to control your Condition Lever (the slider that is basically just to the right of the throttles), set the following: In FSUIPC (Registered Version), go to Axis Assignment tab, and move the grey friction slider so it is active On the left side, click the "Send to FS as normal axis" option, and in the top drop down box select "Mixture Set" Now go to the Joystick Calibration tab and go to "Page 2 of 11: Prop, mixture and brakes" Under mixture, click set For the lowest setting, set your lever to about -6500 then click Set, for your upper setting, choose about 6450 on the lever then click…

  14. Hi, I'm frustrated by this, I haven't completed a flight in FS in a long, long time. First because of FSX and OOM crashes, now FSX-SE because I bought the PC-12 yesterday, thought I was good to go, but right as I hit 12,000ft on my short hop from Muskegon to Green Bay, all hell broke loose, and I tried to cancel all of the alarms, and lights, and stick shakers, but was unable to. I'm not sure what would cause this, I'm hoping someone out there knows what I could do to ensure this doesn't happen. Thanks!! Additional info, engine temps were good, speed was good, everything was situation normal at the time.

  15. Hi All Dear PC-12 Experts, Yes, a newbie to the PC-12 but definitely not new to real world and FS aviation (forty years of experience…hard to believe). Yesterday, I purchased the PC-12 and I really admired the handling qualities and graphics of this product. At the same time I immediately recognised the annoying bugs with the autopilot, altitude alerter and on top of all, the completely incorrect turboprop behaviour of the engines. I accept that it is not a real level 4 sim, but still do not understand the developers attitude, since a little more effort and it could be an outstanding product. I did the usual thing and went through this forum and recognised that so…

  17. Started by CaptKornDog,

I've been tinkering with the PC-12 sounds the past few days, inserting some of my own recordings from the actual aircraft, to make the Carenado feeling a bit more realistic. I increased the volume a bit on the fuel pumps to see/listen to their behavior some before inserting my own sound. Perhaps it's just my system, but for some reason, with the pumps in the "ON" position, it sounds like the pumps only operate for 2 or 3 seconds, then shut off for 2 or 3 seconds, then turn back on. The actual aircraft, they should be continuous for as long as they are "ON", not a strange oscillation like I'm hearing in my sim. Does anyone else have the same issue? I know the default …

  18. Started by Bert Pieke,

If you have my gauge mods installed, and you lose your primary instruments when crossing a time zone boundary, contact me, and I'll send you a fix. If you do not have my mods installed, this does not apply. The underlying problem is that Carenado uses "local time" as a reference for the timers in the airplane, which runs into problems when FSX resets local time.. ie when crossing a time zone boundary. Unfortunately, my attempted fix does not work, so the existing workaround is actually better. If you are comfortable editing xml files, you can open the Gauge_Update.xml file in the GaugePC12 folder, search for "disable" and edit as follows: Remove <!…

  19. First a brief rant - there are times when I get very tired of tweaking and troubleshooting FSX, FSX SE, P3D, and associated scenery, aircraft, utilities and so on. Sometimes I just want to fly! On to my question. I can't seem to change heading and/or course with the mouse wheel one degree at a time. Both heading and/or course will increment by up to 10 degrees at a time. Am I doing something wrong? Dave

  20. Started by andresico,

Hi all I dont get along to well with this plane. Its very pretty etc, but one thing in its flying characteristics is annoying me a lot and so I dont fly it anymore. Since I´m not in the mood for another throw away payware addon, I hope that I´m doing something wrong and that someone here can help me on the right track. This plane goes up up up. With more than 170knots I cant trim it level. I end up with the elevater trim at max down trim and with more than 170kias it goes up. It makes it annoying to handfly. And decents are very tirering when handflying. Is anyone else having this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is there an optional patch out there? …

  21. Started by woodhick,

This is really stupid to ask, but I assume the prop pitch is managed by computer in the RW aircraft? Looked everywhere for pitch control, couldn't find a familiar lever anywhere. The airplane flies fine without my doing any pitch adjustments, but I feel like I'm leaving something out.

  22. Howdy Folks! This past weekend I have been tinkering under the hood of the PC-12 and managed to tweak a few settings in relation to the Engine Indication System, ITT performance, Fuel Performance, and Electrical Indication. Here is a list of the changes: Engine Indication System: - Corrected the Fuel Quantity Display to display fuel weight to Pounds. Previously the quantity was displayed in Liters. - Corrected the Fuel Used Display to display fuel used in Pounds. Previously it was displayed in Liters. ITT Performance: - Adjusted the .air file ITT and EGT settings to match a more realistic behavior. ITT temps will drop off slowly, will respond the power set…

Got the GTN 750 fitted in the PC12 VC ok. However, when I load up the PC12 in the cold & dark state (using the Carenado menu) after engine start up I turn on the avionics switches and the GTN 750 turns on but is not displayed in the VC? I can left click the bezel to get the pop-up view ok but it does not display in the VC. If I select the Ready for Taxi option in the Carenado menu the GTN 750 is displayed in the VC but I prefer cold & dark start ups. Anybody else experience this? Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!

Hi Guys, Anyone having a Training Manual (preferably PDF) on the PC-12? I like to go into details of every aircraft in sim and of course in RW flying. It would be an awesome reading. Looking forward to your reply, Tamas
