Hi, You know this issue i still have with undocking panels in DX10 i have found that the CPU jumps in load from 35 to 75% all the time and when i anylyze it in FSX.EXE:4636 Properties i can see the above is present twice and jumbs from 0.19% CPU to 2X24.90% . Everytime it goes up there my fps drops and after a while (5-30 seconds) it goes back to normal and then repetaing the pattern. So what does this process do when undocking panels ? I know this is really tech stuff but it only effects my fps in DX10 when undocking panels and make it useless undocking panels :-) Thanks Michael Moe

I'm really happy with DX10 with Steve's fixer. DX10 is way smoother than DX9, especially when using TrackIR. About the only issue remaining for me is that when viewing Orbx airports (Blue Pacific NW) from a distance, there are a bunch of flashing white lights visible at the airport. It looks like a bunch of camera flash bulbs going off. I've tried various AA settings without much improvement. Is this one of those unfixable DX10 things, or is there a way to avoid the flashing lights? Thanks FSX Gold Intel 3770k @4.3 GHZ Nvidia GTX 670

I am posting this message here as I am a DX10 convert. Any help will be appreciated. After adjustments to my Radeon HD 5850 GPU in Catalyst Control Center/ AMD Overdrive, I am receiving the attached messages. They pop up after about half hour after starting FSX/Acceleration. I really want to avoid a reinstall as it was running beautifully and I have a zillion addons. It was activated and has been in constant use for a few months since the last reinstall. The problem now is it doesn't give me the option to activate. I have the original DVD's and product key's on hand. The main problem seems to be the ERROR CODE: 4-8007054f message. Windows 7 HP 64 bit First message. "Th…

I just installed ASN and noticed some horrible flashing which turned out to be the starting and stopping of precipitation (snow in this case). Over at HiFi forums they recommended the fix posted below. I have applied it and it did work but I want to make sure I did not undo anything from the Fixer. Can anyone confirm? ------------------------------------------------------- Fixing FSX Cloulds Pop\Flashing In and Out of scenes Go to this folder, FSX\ShadersHLSL\misc a file called SwarmCloud.fx. Make a backup copy open with notepad Change value below TRUE to FALSE bool NewMaterialUsage = FALSE; Go to C:\documents & settings\<your username>\Loca…

Just a quick question if someone could tell me if there is a new version of Steve's DX10 Fixer avaliable? I'm running the fixer and find it fantastic but I've read somewhere that there is a new version out or build no. something like that, also that it's avaliable at the FSS (but unable to find it) Thanks in advance. Cheers Rod.

Im using the DX10 fixer and REX cloud textures, plus the ASN weather engine. On a number of occasions when clouds are hanging low in mountain areas, I get flickering between clouds and mountains. I assume this is some kind of shader issue? Any known way to fix this?

I have made some testflights (my PC info updated) in DX9 and with the commercial DX10 fixer. I can see that in DX10 there are always a little lower fps. I wonder why because with my old Phenom II X4 + GTX650 the opposite were the case. I saw a significant increase in fps.

Hi everyone, it's the new guy around here...... I recently started to have problem with scenery in FSX after downloading updated drivers for my video card, no progressivetaxi, no runway edge lines, buildings disappeared and strange triangles and lines appeared especially when flying at night. After reading some of the posts on here, I figured that perhaps DX10 was the culprit. I purchased and downloaded the DX 10 scenery fixer and it works great, buildings are back, I have runway edge lines, centre lines and I can now find my way around the airport as progressive taxi is back, but when flying at night the triangles and black lines seem to be still appearing, albeit not as…

I have purchased the DX10 fixer. Unfortunately I experience a lot of minor flaws. I see flickering runway taxi lines the solid line goes into minor lines. At ORBX 3W5 airport. Still some shimmering textures Most I find the AA unsatisfactory (see pic below). I use 16xCSAA. I have read that this should be setup in a optimal way. But what can I do ? I have installed the fixer enabled DX10 and raised AA. Apart from that I earlier setup Nvidia Inspector ackording to Nick's FSX Bible (well apart from using higher AA).

The DX10 fixer! Undoubtedly!!! I have been using it for almost 1 month now, and all I can say is that this turned FSX into a completely different simulator for me. Yes I bought the professional version of P3Dv2, monthly subscription, and see a good and promissing future in that platform, but I am not using it right now, while I wait for their first service update. I am also a satisfied X-plane 10 user, very glad with the latest releases for that sim, and looking forward for further updates, and... I know FSX will not get updated anymore, but.... truth is, it's in FSX "DX10 fixed" that I can really find the most rewarding simming experience. ORBX's …

Many thanks to Steve for the latest version (28) which has finally removed the jagged edges from the shadows in my airliner of choice. A very welcome addition to an excellent aircraft model. Regards, Nick

I just tried DX10 without Steves DX10 fixer. From a test flight in the Realair Lancair Legacy at Seattle I noticed that fps was a bit lower compared to DX9 and the amount of stuttering was the same as before. That rises a question about what conclusion can be drawn from this ? In my old Phenom II X4 with GTS250 system I saw a significant increase in fps and better smoothness when I used the free DX10 fixer. Is things different when I use a Haswell 4760K with a GTX770 , i.e only expect improved performance with slower system ? Or is the fixer going to change performance in DX10 compared to just enabling DX10 in FSX ? Important things for me in deciding if I'm going to bu…

I'm having this bug I can reproduce when bloom is enabled in DX10. I'm using DX10fixer, but it was happening before. Whenever I cross cloud altitude, I get these fast flashing black squares in the sky. As soon as I am above the clouds, the effect disappears. I've seen this happening on the last two full re-installations of FSX Acceleration. I'm using REX clouds (changing cloud res doesn't matter). This bug completely disappears as soon as I disable bloom in FSX display settings. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

Goodday gents, Since a couple of weeks my poor FSX suffers from really bad stuttering that i have never seen before. That is, with DX10 only ! I have been using DX10 with great satisfaction ever since Steve's DX10 fix came about (the freeware version). Didn't give me not only much nicer views but also a huge difference in fps and smoothness compared to DX9. Never been happier with my FSX performance. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like this mysterious stutter doesn't have anything to do with my FSX settings but possibly rather with my system although i see it only with FSX, not with other, graphically demanding, sims that i play, like Railworks (TS2014) or Eur…

Okay guys, I hope I'm in the right forum, but I think I have narrowed the problem down to being a DX10 issue. I recently bought the OpenCockpits CDU v3 for use with my PMDG 737NGX. To get this device working I have to drag a docked window with the NGX CDU screen over to the OC CDU (which acts as a second monitor). Everytime I try this when running in DX10 mode I get a CTD, while in DX9 mode everything seems to work. The CDU is connected tot an Intel HD Graphics 3000 via a VGA cable. My main monitor is a 24 inch Dell connected to my Nvidia Geforce GTX 660. I'd rather run FSX in DX10 as it is way more stable (on my system) than it was in DX9 mode, also it seems t…

Hello! Recently I made a fresh install of all OS and FSX and I'm thinking about test DX10...but a couple of questions... What are the better settings in NI for use with it? How about the DX10 fixer? It's hard to use? Are the airports compatible? Is FPS same as DX9? It is worth to use it? Thanks Enviado desde mi iPhone 5S con Tapatalk

I vaguely remember reading something about this somewhere previously but despite searching AVSIM and GOOGLE am yet to find a fix. Do any of you know of one? I have DX10 with Steve's Fixer and have FTX Global and UTX Europe (with UTX lighting enabled for extra lights coverage). I've noticed that from certain angles in VC or spot view, strings of road lighting disappears then comes back when I slightly change my viewing angle. This is anywhere between 1000-6000 ft, Regards Adam

Hi, I have purchased and installed the commercial DX10 fixer and am now flying with DX10 enabled. It seems that the build up of scenery is limited to a certain radius surrounding my aircraft. Outsite that radius i will only get big grey squares on the ground. Have i forgotten something in the settings of the fixer or do i need to delete a folder with shaders perhaps? Can anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot? Thanks,Antoine
