Hi All - Since DX-10 is so much different than DX-9 tweaks. I was wondering about the "core parking" tweak for Window 7 64 bit. Is this something that would be of any benefit? Running under DX-10, I noticed last evening that GPU-z show about 35-48% GPU utilization of my Nvidia 580GTX card. Seems even with an overclocked CPU to 5.0Ghz, so I may still be CPU bound. I am running Ultimate Traffic 2 and noticed the frames drop a bit and a stutter/pause when it injects traffic. That is what got me thinking about the core parking as a solution?. Anyone else using this tweak with DX-10? Thanks, Daniel

I wanted GTX 770 but it's too big for my medium size tower and too heavy for my 600W psu. So after a little search i purchased this little gem from Asus! GTX 760 Mini! It's a small but powerful card! More details here. The price was 250 € with 23% VAT and delivery costs. I made a flight last night from LGIR to LGTS with Airbus Extended and here my first impressions: 1) With 4x AA setting in the Fixer, shimmering almost gone! There is only an acceptable shimmering level from water and from aircraft's panel but now is readable! (Airbus is not as detailed as PMDG 737) 2) A completely different water! The REX4 water now has ...waves! Now i can "feel" way bett…

Hi Guys New DX10 convert here! I have been going through all of my add ons and seeing how they look in DX10 to check for any compatability issues, and one I've come across is the freeware Burgas airport. Do any of you guys use this airport, or have you seen a similar issue at other airports? Is it just a case of this addon not being DX10 compliant, or is this a more general issue that's just manifesting at this location for some reason? Many thanks

After repeated experimentation, I think I have found a work-around for the runway approach lights being out.. at least for Anchorage PANC (Note: have not tried this trick with other Aersosoft airport seneries). 1. Make sure the lightfield.bgl for PANC is in the aerosoft airport scenery folder. If it is not then copy it there from Steve's pre-built lightfield files for PANC. 2. Start FSX and allow the SIM to recognize the copied lightfield file and exit. 3.) Start FSX again, go to scenery options and make sure clear scenery cache is ticked, then click 'OK' to clear the scenery cache 4. Start flight in Anchorage (PANC) and then exit. Don't close FSX but then…

AlacrityPC has been posted about in several areas. This program is really nice in allowing FSXX to get ALL the resources available for your particular computer setup. It does this by shutting down unwanted background programs of all kinds, before launching FSXX and then it can be set to turn them back on when you exit. This allows your PC to devote all available resources to FSXX giving you a performance boost to some degree depending on your setup. It also shuts down whatever you want that might access information online giving you the "stutters" while you are trying to enjoy a nice flight. So in efforts to use this program myself I found it a little daunting …

Hi, I have tried to sift through all the info on this to get my best results but I'm hoping some experts on here can guide me. My specs are below I7 dual core 2.9ghz 8Gb ram nividia 640 Le 2Gb I have all scenery sliders max, Most aircraft extras turned off and traffic set at only 10% on most, and my only tweak is HIGHNEMFIX=1 I have bought steve fx fixer and applied it. I have just bought ftx glibal and vector and love the visuals.I'm getting 60fps in the air and 20-30 on the ground at manchester or heathrow depending on the aircraft. My question is what else can I do to boist performance abit? I'm using razer game booster so fps limiters aren't …

For me, what it has done is fix a broken DX9 FSX. I can now enjoy: Better graphics! Smother performance! Stability! I’d like to add that now I can run FSX with unlimited frames with no lags, stutters, or blurry scenery. That‘s more value than I expected. I have more to say about what it has fixed, but I’ll let you share what it has done for you. Here’s to the fixer! Jose

Hi all, It started again. My FSX tweaking... I did switch to DX10 some months ago and I absolutely want to stay with it. But somehow, I did still find not the sweet spot of settings and FSX.cfg tuning for my rig. While I desperately try to stick to the rule of adding as little as possible to my FSX.cfg, I continue to test several things when reading them in one of the FS forums. Yesterday, as an example: increase the FFTF value. While FSX has 0.33 as standard, I usually run my sim with 0.12, resulting in increased FPS. However, I realized that if I increase the LOD_RADIUS to 8.5 (which is basically the only acceptable value if using Switzerland Professional X...), it …

Hi Guys I'm a new convert to DX10 and so far am very impressed with the improvement over DX9. However the settings I had for a more natural (less cartoony) look in DX9 in SFX are awful in DX10, so I have gone back to FSX default for now until I find some better settings. Would anyone care to share their setup for SFX and DX10? Many thanks

Hello: I am sure this can't be helped but I have noticed with DX10 that some high level clouds display dark gray (almost translucent) squares while some ground HD payware textures load (I.E. some airport payware sceneries). Is there a way to mitigate this?? I have played around with swap wait time out (currently set to 3) and fiber fraction (currently at .12) Tried buffer-pools both on and off. Tried changing resolution of the REX4 upper clouds to 2048, 1024 and 512.... Note: I have NO issues with the lower level clouds and they maintain their depiction.. Also note: That the upper level clouds go back to their stunning appearance after the payware textures…

I have recently made the switch to DX10. I love it for smoothness, FPS, overall scenery and visual quality. I have tried all the suggested VSync/tearing fixes, 1/2 refresh rate, Standard VSync, etc, etc. Nothing works for me. I have an idea it may be because I am running a digital (20" ASUS) and a vga (24" Samsung) monitor on my GTX780. I am running the vga as my primary monitor in FSX and the digital as the secondary monitor for gauges. However, the 780 is always going to see the digital as the #1 and the vga as #2. That's the way the 780 connections work and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it. In one of the other threads RivaTuner and D3DOverride was br…

Most of my freeware airports work great in dx10 mode, but TFFG (Grand Case) by Valladier Jean Louis has flickering runways, runway markngsi and numbers. It's a nice airport that completes my St. Marteen Island. Does anyone know how to convert textures or bgls to eradicate these flashing, flickering runway and parking area. I've contacted the dev, but never heard from him. Thanks. Jose

I could never run it in DX9 because I couldn't do the 2.x high water (which apparently seems to not be required under DX10). Well, while trying to tweak my dinosaur yet again when OrbX NorCal came out and I purchased it, I found I can run bp=0 under DX10. The only time my GTX560Ti gets over 80% gpu usage is if there's some good weather going on. BufferPools=0 hasn't fixed my issue with high density textures from Orbx randomly being blurry with the PMDG NGX, and now with even default aircraft in the new region, but a few tweaks like reducing LOD radius back to 4.5 when using default aircraft helped fix that and it's only when over dense urban/city areas. I don't think …

Hi Guys I've been reading loads of DX10 topics but am still unsure about compatibility with payware airports. I've never tried DX10 but before I go through all the steps in the guide and purchasing the 'fixer' I'd like to ensure that the majority of my payware scenery is going to be useable as I only fly between my payware airports. I have most UK2000 airports, FTX Global and Australia and England/Ireland, about 15 Aerosoft airports, FlyTampa airports etc. Thanks in advance, I'm getting more confused about DX10 the more I read, but I feel I'm missing out by not trying it!

I have my system (4.4GHz i5, GTX660 with 2GB) set up according to the How to Guide except I turned on triple buffering with NVidia Inspector because I happened to find it solves a minor tearing problem I had in the VC when quickly moving my view when usingTrackIR5. Prior to using triple buffering trying different usepools values didn't seem to help. I haven't noticed any problems using triple buffering to this point, but I don't understand enough about it to really know what might be some of the uninteneded consequences of using triple buffering? Any thoughts appreciated. Thx, Al

Ok, so I know there is a lot of info about DX10 out there but it's a bit like information overload so please excuse me starting another topic. I have a couple of specific questions: 1) I understand that DX10 can increase frame rates and also improve elements of graphics within FSX, is this fair? 2) I have a lot of payware scenery, Orbx areas, FTX Global, UK2000 airports, Aerosoft airports, FlyTampa airports...is compatability an issue? 3) Are Sweet FX and DX10 compatible? 4) Is "using DX10" simply a case of checking "Enable DX10 preview" ? Thanks all and apologies for the probably stupid questions!

I Have recently had to reinstall Windows 7 HP 64 bit and FSX Delux with Acceleration. I installed FSX on a dedicated hard drive (J:)Flight Simulator, which is 1.34TB. I have also installed all the ORBX-FTX scenery, REX, Airports, Aircraft, SteveFXDX10 Scenery Fixer ect. The one problem I have now is with trying to install a program (FDC Live Cockpit) that requires FSUIPC, which I have installed, (version 4.9.2.9) When FDC completes the install a message comes up "Your FSX installation is not suitable for this version of FSUIPC. You may need to installan update from Microsoft. No changes have been made by this program." May this be caused by the way I have name…

Approach lights seem to be INOP during the day on both Anchorage and Fairbanks. During the evening or night, the approach lights work fine as well as the runway lights. Is there a work-around for this?? Note: FS Dream Team, LatinVFR and FlightBeam payware airports approach lights work fine during the day with the DX10 fixer.

I just recently converted my FSX over to DX10 after being severely disappointed with P3D 2.1. Using Steve's fixer and dx10 tool kit to enable vc shadows in most aircraft (Hopefully the NGX soon), sweetfx, and the advice from this forum has given FSX a new life. Thank u for everyone's efforts it is much appreciated.
