PMDG 777

  1. Started by Daniel choen,

Hey, recently I stepped from the normal fsx camera, with the mouse and hat switch on the joystick to TrackIR, now i am able to zoom in, more realistically (zoom 0.80) and i can move my head i a circle motion without touching the keyboard or the hat switch. i must say it can feel that you see very little with zoom 0.80 sometimes, but i wondered, and the question is for the Beta Team: what zoom do find the best with the 777? I know it's personal taste though. I want to save some time by relying on the beta team, prepare the opus camera for a quick ride. so every opinion or comment about that is much appreciated! thanks, cheers.

  3. Hey All, Been a bystander for a while now on the AVSIM forums, my username here predates my time at WSJ...and FlightBlogger...and even graduating from college. In fact, I think my account was created when the 777-200LR was still in flight testing. A lot of you have seen my article on the PMDG 777 development and my interview with Robert Randazzo ( http://on.wsj.com/1acQWQ6 ), but wanted to share something here that I thought would be interesting while you wait for the 777 to come out. As part of the global aerospace beat for WSJ, I get to cover Boeing and a lot of other companies that make airplanes big and small. I've been up and down Boeing's Everett, Washington…

  5. Okay, so everyone has been prattling along taking SWAGs at the big surprise. Well, here is AVSIM's big surprise... 48 hours after release, AVSIM will open up a screen shot contest. But this will be a screen shot contest with a difference. You will be allowed one screen shot of the new B777 that MUST be accompanied by a narrative. The narrative must be a "story" about the screen shot. Don't be cut and dry, be poetic, a story teller, imagination at full blast. Multiple entries will be discarded. The contest will last 10 days from release. We will set up a special forum for the contest, which we'll announce shortly after the 777 is on the market. The winner will be s…

In one of Frooglesim latest videos, he copied a table of wind data from Activesky 2012 and through creating a text document, could import the wind data straight into the FMC. My question is, I am using OpusFSX right now, is there any way to generate a table like the one in the video? Thanks

Hi, The Wall Street Journal article seem to make a strong inference that the 777 will be released on Labor Day (Monday, August 2) here in the USA. Can anyone at PMDG confirm this please? Thank you! Signed, Gregory J. Hollen (PMDG Superfan)

Hi PMDG team, wondering if you have the accurate options for Air Canada? If not is anyone here on the forum that would have that?

Guys, PMDG just updated their Facebook with two new pictures; one of them shows a 777 pushing the NGX off the runway!!! I'm taking this to mean that the 777 release is imminent, i mean maybe within hours. A bunch of people have said that when you see PMDG post pictures with hidden meanings then they are telling you in so many words that something is underway. See for yourselves : https://www.facebook.com/pmdgsimulations For reals I think this is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Signed, Gregory J. Hollen (PMDG Superfan)

Hello folks, my question is adressed to all the Beta tester that put the T7 to the proof. Now to my proper question: The NGX runs on my little bit slow PC pretty well, indeed. I´ve an Intel i5 750 4 cores that runs at 2,6GHz, Zotac GTX 560 2GB GDDR5, 1TB hard drive and 6GB RAM. I almost tweaked FSX to it´s best. The result is that I achieve with the NGX at one of many Mega Airports like Frankfurt or Dusseldorf and so about 20FPS when the mouse courser is in FSX and about 23-40 FPS when the courser is out of FSX. However, it´s doing well but it´s most likely not the best.. Anyway, I read a article published at AoA where the upcoming T7 is said to be …

  25. Started by cyberpilot,

As we all know there are all manner of audio call-outs on the flight decks of big jets such as 80 knots, V1, rotate etc on take-off, height call-outs on landing, GPWS call-outs etc, but why aren't there audio call-outs for airspeed on final approach? Surely this would make life a lot easier and safer for pilots, especially on a visual approach when they could keep their eyes mostly outside the cockpit without constant reference to the airspeed indicator. Given that one of the factors in the Air Asiana B777 undershoot at San Francisco was an apparent failure by the crew to properly monitor their airspeed it would appear that an audio call-out for airspeed is a no-brainer…
