PMDG 777

Let me just say, wow. This is by far the best jetliner in the market. (duh) I love to hand fly, I do it all the time with the NGX and have gotten a little too used to it. I made my first flight thinking: "I've flown the NGX so many times! This landing will be a walk in the park..." And well.... my first landing was terrible. Floating and bouncing, defying all logic that I was used to in the NGX. Nailed a teeth-rattling -400 fpm... silky smooth!! After feeling rather frustrated at the "bad first impression" of the handling of the beast, It took me about 4-5 practice landings at KMIA's rnw 09 to finally realize just how EASY this plane is to make smooth landi…

Hi all, Was just reading through a couple of things and looking at the PMDG facebook page. I noticed on the FMC in a picture the AIRAC cycle was 1309. I bought 1308 for the NGX recently, so worst comes to the worst I can just use that cycle for the T7. But I was wondering, does anyone know if 1309 will be the cycle they use for the 777? I personally think it would be a little harsh to use the rather old cycle default in the NGX for the T7 Thanks

Guys - Pretty weird bug here Plane flies well and works ok but I cannot see an y knobs, handles, cpckpit phone etc, also, no menu bar on the FSX, it disappeared. Any advice?

My friend is flying the 777 right now. He noticed something strange. Basically, It's like there's an invisible 'Pole" coming down from the planes belly, that's "scratching" and invisible "wet floor", that's is creating a vapor trail, similar to the ones the gear struts does when rolling on a wet runway. His only add-on is Opus Weather Engine and Rex for textures. Best Regards.

I'm really enjoying the new 777 and have the NGX and just have a question. I was doing a flight from LAX to SFO and after takeoff the first waypoint is a vector and then you make a turn to the next waypoint which is 32 nm away. In the NGX when I get within 3 nm of the next waypoint after a vector and I can switch back to LNAV and continue as before but in the 777 it never switches to the next waypoint even when I get to 0 nm away it just stays on the vector. I looked in the tutorial but it doesn't cover this so I thought I'd post this here.

My PDFs have the draft watermark still on them. Was that intentional or will they be updated to remove that? Thanks!

Hello Captains: I have a slight problem and am not sure what I do wrong: I'm doing my third flight now and this time, as well as during the first flight, the yellow "CAUTION" light (on the button that also has the red "WARNING" light) lights on and can't be put off. There is no indication anywhere what could have caused the caution warning (and why it can't be put off). Anyone encountered this already and has an idea? The light, by the way, came up during / shortly after engine start (both times). Kind regards,

Hi All Ive got my 777, Set it for COLD & DARK panel load state... Turned my battery on, but the ground power lights dont illuminate..any idea how im supposed to set it so that Ground power is available when i cant use my FMC, because its cold and dark... Any advice would be great....i.e the PMDG 747 has an menu option that allows me to specify that ground power is available. Thanks All Luke

Firstly, thank you very much for the 777. It's a wonderful plane and I look forward to the learning curve! I've encountered a problem with my EZCA and the 777. When I select 'Aircraft' to create outside views this is all I see: I've tried the HighMemFix in the CFG as well as restarting the EZCA program before starting FSX, during, and after FSX and after loading the CFG. I loaded another aircraft and the 'Aircraft' viewing option worked like normal. Any Suggestions? Thanks so much! sorry. repost from server error. please delete this post.

As we are in "Release Week" I just wanted an indication of price, I know its listed for 165.000.000..000 .... but a real price for the 777, so I know how much hard earned to set aside for this fantastic product. I have a quick question regarding AS2012 settings as it relates to time compression (this feature singlehandedly saved my marriage btw ;-) I'm currently flying from KJFK to EDDL and time compression slows down quite frequently, even on straight line flight when AS2012 updates the upper winds apparently. I usually load the same flightplan in AS2012 and was just wondering if any of the testers has any recommendations to make this as smooth as possible. Can anyone give me an idea how much memory FSX is using with the 777 loaded? PMDG minimum requirements state that the 777 might run on a 32 bit OS but it isn't supported. So basically 32 bit users buy at their own risk. I'm trying to get an idea of what memory usage actually is to see whether it might be worth a shot running it under XP-32. Migrating to Win 7 64 bit from XP would be a major headache, apart from the additional cost of the new OS. Given PMDG's refund policy (or lack of one) I don't want to buy the 777 and then find it won't load on my system. If anyone has managed to get the 777 running using 32 bit windows I'd be interested to hear how well it runs. …

has any one had more bad luck than me. got home from work, decided to check the forum for news and I was blown away when y saw that it was now available. Out of curiosity, are there supposed to be moving vehicles and such during the ground operations? I see the timer clicking, doors opening but that's about it. Any ideas?

I never liked the VC - the view is stuck in one place and looking around is a miserable experience - looking up at the upper panel you need to twist your head 90 degrees to look at the switches and knobs. Maybe it's me and I may not be doing something right, but I seriously miss the 2D panel view right now. I don't have any of the fancy trackIR or similar device. Is there a key combination to move the view point like we see in the videos? I looked around the documentation, found references to popup but these are just big squares appearing on the screen. Ok, I have been awake now for the last 72 hours straight waiting for PMDG to release the 777 and I haven't left the computer except to go to the bathroom and sometimes to play Battlefield 3. I can't take it anymore. I am dizzy and my vision is starting to get blurry and also I have to go to school tomorrow. Most of the people that play Battlefield are so retarded they can't even start a Flight Simulator plane, much less fly it and land. I also am starting to itch all over and I don't know why.
