Hey, I recently purchased the Carenado PA46T. I really love it! But, as I start to use the checklists, I've discovered that I don't know where to find certain items on the checklist, in the cockpit. I cant find the: Door Pins Emergency Gear Knob ELT Cabin Altitude selector Cabin Altitube Rate Control Cabin Pressurization Control Oxygen Pressure gage Oxygen Masks Fuel Firewall Shut Off Lever Power Control Lever (is this known as throttle too?) Battery Select #1 (not the switch, the checklist says to check =24 VDC) Fuelx-fer Pumps L%R Emergencyx-fer Pump Header Tank Manual Override switch What is the difference between alternator and Generator. Where …

OK, on to the Starting Engines checklist of the Carenado Piper Malibu. This list seems to be more in line with the actual a/c simulation but there are a few items in it that I did not managed to find: Fuel Firewal Shut Off Lever. Fuel Xfer Pumps L&R Manual Override Switch Fuel Boost Pumps #1 & #2

The first in my series of posts about the checklists in hopes of filling in all the gaps that Carenado left off. First of all I don't really see what is the point of putting a checklist with items that are either inoperable or just not applicable to the simulation. I also noticed that some hotspot switches have a function different from what the panel label (in the VC) actually says. So, for the list, those items with [X] I got covered, those with [?] I am unsure where to find them and those with [ ] are those that I believe do not apply to the simulated aircraft. Please correct me if I am mistaken please! I want to make a true checklist for this wonderful plane! …

I was making a play-flight with the PA46T just for fun due to shortage of time and in doing so I forgot to turn on the Alternator. Sometime during flight (10 minutes I guess) my PFD shut off as well as other instruments. I turned on the Alternator after that major omission and most of the other instruments (Garmins) came to life again BUT the PFD however remained BLACK. I did not find a way to turn the PFD back on again without resetting the flight. Obviously documentation is lacking. So, how do I do it if that happens?

I was playing with the PA46T on a forced landing just for the sake of it and all of a sudden it started making this LOUD ear piercing beep that is like some sort of ALARM. However, I did not see any indication as to WHY it sounds or even how to mute the alarm.

I had both installed in the P46T in the old computer but when I try in the new Jetline the 530 installs but the 430 has no screen on the pop up and the one in the VC panel says it won't work. The 430 is working fine in other Carenado aircraft. This is the only one I've ever had both in, and it's not a big deal to me, but strange never the less.

I think this add-on is absolutely one of the best I've ever seen and for me well worth the very reasonable price. The interior is spectacular, the gauge quality is excellent and very clear, the sounds are immersive, and the flight dynamics are completely convincing. Well done, Carenado.

The way I use the autopilot is to flip the FD/AP switch one notch (with the left mouse button)to the FD position, while on the gound. Select initial target altitude on the G500 and set theheading bug to the initial heading (usually runway heading). On the STEC (which should read RDY) push the HDG button and the VS button. Now take off.Once airborne and wheels up, click on the FD/AP switch one more time to moveit to the AP position. The autopilot will now fly the plane and you can adjust VS and other settingsfrom there. To turn the AP off, right click on the switch. The STEC autopilot is modeled quite accurately, but there are little thingslike the RDY indication staying on …

Hello everyone, I have a question about starting up the Jetprop. IRL when the starter is pressed and you begin to hear everything spooling up (before fuel is introduced), shouldn't the prop begin to turn? I know IRL pilots do this to suck air into the engine to lower the ITT before igniting it to avoid a hot start (at least, they do it in the Piper Meridian). Or is this a limitation of FSX? If anyone knows how this could be achieved it would be much appreciated.

I am confused, as usual, about the exact model that Carenado has chosen. When I go to Jetprop.com to snoop around for some answers it looks like very few dots can be connected. Please take a look at my attachment. I have tried to put as much info as I could find, which is not very much, in one box for comparison. Confusing issue no 1 is JetProp thinks their Maiibu has a Lycoming Engine not a P&W. Confusing issue no 2 is JetProp doesn't seem to have a PA46 engine but the closest P&W is a -42 with 500 HP which is close to the Carenado 550 HP but it is a Meridian. Confusing issue no 3 is the JetProp DLX is a 560 HP P&W but is a -35 but the Gross Weight is t…

Ok, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I've decided to do a "birds eye maple" panel. I love this wood grain, and have seen it as interior woods for lots of aircraft. This will take some time for a good job. Each letter on the panel has to be cut out of the grain overlay, which is very tedious. Here is my final version of the wood grain panel. Once the letters are done, I'll have to play around with the night version: As a bonus, for reasons I don't understand yet, the pull out table automatically gets this wood grain with the panel change. Along with this panel, I'm thinking about changing the throttle quadrant to a red leather to match the new livery... or ma…

I have had a strange thing happen for the third time just now. I suddenly lose power to my G500, 430, 530 & AP. I did see a post earlier in this forum that a similar thing has happened and that resetting the radio master would bring the power back up. Not here. I've tried everything to power these units back up but the only way to bring them back on line is to reset the flight. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

As the title says, where is she going?I'm currently at Geneva, maybe heading for Spain or trying to land and some French Altiports next. With the turbine power, the mountains can't scare me off. B)Ok, you've asked for it. On my way to In France now. Just after leaving Geneva.

TRying my new PA46T out. I have noticed that when I take off with throttles to full and then pitch up to rotate that it really becomes very difficult to control the pitch of the aircraft. During the takeoff it starts pitching up to nearly 20 degrees even though I am pushing the yoke down to try to reduce the pitch. It is like it wants to go straight up to the skies.

I like the Piper Mailbu PA46T a lot but I have found quite a few problems with it, namely: On take off the a/c tends to pitch up too much, it goes up to nearly 20 degrees and it is hard to lower it down. During flight it seems to react too quickly to controls causing erratic behaviour. This happens with the default FDE, will try with the "optional patch" in hopes to remedy this anomaly. The virtual cockpit is virtually difficult to read unless you plan to use the a/c for playing rather than flying. Because of that I found a workaround and that is pop up the 2D panels and dock them on the 2nd monitor but... When the 2D panel is popped up (at least on a 2nd monitor) I …

Hi, I'm a real life pilot who will be training (in a month or two) on a glass panel Bonanza that has a G500, 530W, and 430W - exactly the same avionics as the Malibu JetProp. I'd like to find out how accurate the avionics are - if I train with them, are they close enough to real functionality that the training will carry over? I've always (real life) flown steam gauges, glass avionics are new to me, and I'm trying to find a way to learn them without having to rent time on the plane - at $200 / hour, if the JetProp is usable for training, I can save a bundle. Last and not least - I'm VFR only, so I don't need to learn anything related to approaches, etc. Just basic…

Hello all, I'm new to the Carenado line. So far I've only been flying FSX default aircraft. Carenado is the first payware that I started exploring. And so far I have to say I really enjoy their aircraft. My question is regarding the Cabin Altitude selector and the gauge. How do I read the gauge and how do I set it? So if I was flying at FL250, how would I set my cabin pressure. And how do I use the Altitude rate control? Thanks

Hi JetProp fans:Anyone else notice that the OAT displayed by the G500 PFD is bogus? It appears to be a calculated value based solely on aircraft altitude, displaying the ISA standard temperature for that altitude and not the actual temperature outside the aircraft. At least that is what I see on my machine. It's very easy to test. Park at any airport in the world and note the OAT reading. Now go into the FSX weather menu and change the ground temperature (and dew point if necessary) by several degrees. On my machine the OAT display does not change! Is this important? For purists trying to match real world performance as closely as possible it does. Turboprop cruise t…

My Piper Malibu used to work find and today that I finally had a time slot to do a flight then I noticed that the PFD (where the attitude and speed tapes etc are displayed) remains forever in "Initializing System". I didn't find any hotspot to switch it off and back on again. I waited forever and while all other avionics systems turned on, this one would simply stay in that initialization phase.
