So, is the consensus now that the HF1 has been released that the upside of going to 5.3 outweighs the downside of fresh installing P3D plus a few hundred GB of add ons? For me improved performance is priority, trying to squeeze all I can out of 9700k at 4.8ghz and RTX 2080. Of course, improved visuals would make me giddy as well.

Hello Running a fresh P3D 5.3 + HF1 and the latest Active Sky (that I could find on their webpage). Took my fave turboprop for a spin (B350i) into ESSA / Arlanda. METAR was 23013KT 9000 OVC005 04/03 Q0993 NOSIG. However I broke through the overcast at 1.500ft AGL instead (1.700ft QNH 993hPa) , which is a big difference vs what was reported. I am running with EA and "Enable detailed EA clouds" checked within AS. Is this a known bug? Can I do anything to fix this? Hi All, Hope all are safe... Since REX announced on the 15 April the they are developing updates for P3Dv5, has anyone got any info as to how close they are to releasing an update to their products... It been a over a month and a half since P3D v5 dropped, and REX seems to be one of the last to the table... Kind of disheartening to those that have purchased their products, but are still waiting... Hifi, PMDG, Orbx, have all seemd to have started delivering some updates allbeit not for their complete range of products...

Hello flight friends, Bought. P3DV5 and so far I'm pretty pleased. The menu in VR is unusable as far as I know however... I press Ctrl + , (comma) to enter the menu but when I choose an option in VR I don't see any menu! What's the use of this VR menu than? Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance! Jozeff

hey guys iam back using ASCA after many years with Skyforce , must say aim very impressed with the improvements looks great in v5.3, just one question , does ASCA need to be running along side ASP3D or once you have chosen your textures etc can it be closed ?

In both P3D v5.2 HF1 & P3D v5.3 HF1, if I have a flight underway & open Little NavMap. P3D CTD. Also occurs if I open Little NavMap before I open P3D. If I Alt TAB to bring up Little NavMap screen, P3D disappears. Anyone else have this? T45

I recently encountered a strange texture bug in P3d V5.3 HF1, it seems that the position of the sun and a brighter area of the sky textures are too far away from each other. I'm not fond of the HD lighting but I can't control it as the 'Enable' box is ticked but greyed out. Don't know how this came about and even after a complete reinstall the same situation exists. Any help here much appreciated. Richard.

Hi guys, I am thinking about getting TE (all west coast US regions only), It is mostly for for all VFR / GA flights and at times tubeliners. What is the verdict on these products graphics/performance wise including load times (I know these products are like 70-80gb each) ? I know in Xplane 11, these regions look amazing. I already have the FTX regions. Buy it or skip it ? Thanks

Well, I love(ed)the N/A PNW Region, as that is/WAS my go to and favorite place in all Orbx-dom to fly in and out of. Especially as I am a Amphibian lover. I did NOT expect the ultra premium content of the T.E. Let’s see… I am getting a real avionics upgrade and had the panel cut for an iPad mount which was installed in my plane. They got the wrong size iPad mount, (bit of a story there) and it only supports 1st and 2nd generation iPads, so I had to find an old iPad or wait for a new panel to be cut and extend my upgrade beyond the already exhaustive five months. Anyhow, this new to me (old 2017) 2nd Generation iPad Pro is not connecting to P3Dv5. I’m getting the “NOT RECEIVING DATA” yellow message when operating GARMIN Pilot in simulator mode. Got this morning to T.E. Oregon....near Portland... You're right...I could never go back to LandClass in P3D, again. This is a totally different flight simming experience...and am now severely; 'jaded'... I guess that I will be stuck in the T.E. Guys. Just did a complete reinstall of p3d. Installed FT MDW and also downloaded the inibuilds MDW DL. But it's not working properly. Not illuminating the aircraft and also looks far dimmer than what I remembered it looking like. So I feel like I'm forgetting something. Anybody have this working properly? being that there is no seasonal change in Southern California, if I bought TE Southern California, I would not be missing getting seasonal changes as one still could if under a Regional product. So, if anybody owns this product...what are your critiques and comments regarding it? Frankly, is it worth it over S.C. Regional as I already own? Your thoughts, for I am having such a blast with v5.3 HF1 LF, that I am considering buying other T.E. 's that don't cover areas that see seasonal changes, like Florida that I already own... I’ve gone to update from 5.2 to 5.3 I uninstalled the “client” first and then the academic after I’ve then reinstalled p3d but now I’ve noticed my addons aren’t working even orbx ain’t picking up the files and wants me to reinstall again. I’ve noticed in the p3d menu addons that the addons are there but not working any help is appreciated.

Hi, I am currently using P3D V5.3 HF1 with an AMD 5800x CPU, 32 GB RAM and RTX 2070 Super. With RTX 2070 Super I have problems with VRAM RAM again with V5.3. So I wanted a GPU with more VRAM. Currently I have chosen an AMD 6700XT with 12GB VRAM. First question, how well do AMD cards work with P3D? As far as I know, NVIDIA cards are often recommended. In general, the 6700XT is faster than my RTX 2070 Super in games. Unfortunately I can't find any benchmarks with the 6700 XT. Hence my question, can you recommend the 6700 XT for P3D? would I see improvements over 2070 Super? Many Thanks

Today i took the plunge and purchased P3DV5.3,question is the switch worth it with all the issues i have read about v5 with GPU crashes etc. Also with all my addons work in v5 and will my PC handle it,thinking more about the GPU. i711700k GTX 3060 12 GB 32 GB Ram Windows 10. Hey everyone, Have long been struggling with wanting to fly my tfdi 717 but I know its a vram hog. Just wondering if 5.3hf1 has made memory at all more improved in sim in general? (I recognize its that aircraft in particular which is a memory hog). Thanks!
