Hi, Should I de-activate OpenLC_Europe1 scenery.cfg entry that came with FTX Global installation or leave it as it is? Thank you Dmitriy

I sent P3D an email about my wanting to get the Academic license to replace the Pro Developer version I subscribed to for 1 month. a couple of days ago, and they said they would refund what I paid for the 1 month subscription. They told me I would have to download the Academic version as it is different from the Pro Dev Version, which I am doing right now. My question is, should I uninstall the Pro version first before installing the Academic Version. I hate to do anything that might mess up the installation and wind up with nothing....I am addicted already to P3D.

today i got these two following messages right after opening p3d "prepar3d cannot find the aircraft for the requested flight. The default aircaft flight will noe try to load." Then i click "OK", "prepar3d cannot find the default aircraft files. Please reinstall prepar3d". Yesterday it was working absolutely fine and today after two sim restarts due to ezdok not opening and fsuipc failing (i have had these errors before with no problems after re starting) i got this error message. Hello all, I've been reading around the forms and I have noticed many others having the same problem as me in P3D 2.5 in regards to autogen and it not loading out very far, respite chaning LOD_Radius in the P3D config. From my understanding of what I have read the autogen has been coded to not load very far to help save on VAS, however I was wondering if anyone has come across a way to override this setting to have the autogen load further or if this is possible? Hi all, So, after a few years away from frequently using (then) FSX for enjoyment. And now that my FAA Medical may be recleared I have decided to rebuild my PC with the following specs (see below) and from multiple searches, it looks like P3rd is the platform to go forward with vs FSX. My question to everyone is: What sort of functionality will prepared give me for integrating lesson plans for the CFI rating for real world application. I plan on spending a minimum of 6 months studying, reviewing and practicing before returning to the RW skies, again as my medical has not cleared yet anyway. The time has come for me to upgrade from v2.2 (yeah, I'm another one who hates re-installs). I have to make clear here that I'm also not the most computer adept of people. Now that the disclaimers are out of the way: Do I simply uninstall P3D via the Control Panel and delete the cfg file found elsewhere (I know where to find it) and install the new download normally? If there's more to do I'm going to need some pretty clear step by step directions. Thanks gang

Ok guys....yes I push the limit, as always if I do something... :-) I love to fly with medium to high settings, also I love flying the mighty 777 from the company with the big manuals... Sometimes I get the unfriendly bing bing from windows, most of the times on final...so here comes the emergency procedure which in my case let me finish my flight without the OOM crash.... Step 1: Go to the graphics menu Step 2: Set global textures to 512 Step 3 : End your flight and be happy... I know its stupid and "shurely" not a solution, but for me it works, since the OOM emergency procedure, I can finish flights, also in demanding airports! Just try, next time…

I stopped flying Flight sims for a few years, but prior to that had decades with MSFS sims. I started using Railroad sims, TS2015, but still miss flying, so I decided to give P3D a try and am downloading it now. I have a few hundred hours in C-172s, so I think if I like the way P3D runs on my PC, my first purchase will be the A2A C172. It looks pretty good from the videos they have on their site.

Any one experiencing any frames drops after last update....I am...seriously having very unstable FPS from 30 down 8 back to 25 etc Thanks

First off, I just upgraded to P3D v2.5 after a many months break, and so far results have been nothing short of outstanding. I was compelled to install the Opus FSI mainly to interface with my buttkicker. I have had EZCA for years and it seems to work pretty well in P3D. I use TrackIR on a triple monitor setup, and only fly in VC mode. Rarely do I use external cameras. I also use ASN for weather, and am fairly happy with it. It does seem to drag the system down, which they will hopefully work out with subsequent updates. I want comparison opinions on both of these issues. Which is better for VC camera positioning and effects, and which would you prefer for…

How can I change the fps display, text size and color ? I have noticed in Rob Ainscough's videos that he has it displayed in a way that I would like. Also a single counter would be better for me. I thought maybe changing AverageFrameRate=1,1 would do it but it doesn't. A solution that's easy for my ageing eyes would be nice. :-) Cheers Steve

I am running FSX on a Windows 7 PC with two add-ons, Orbx PNW and Vancouver+ v3. My question is whether it is possible to set-up FSX and/or the add-on(s) to allow me to run Orbx PNW without loading the Vancouver+ v3 -- without having to uninstall the Vancouver+ add-on? Other times I would want to load and run both together. Thanks for any help, Brian

Just tried to sign into ORBX around 1625 EST and site was down for some reason . Maybe someone else could give it a try and see what you get . Hopefully just scheduled work on site .

Hello everybody Long time reader, first time poster. I have sort of a luxury problem but nevertheless it keeps bugging me so I wanted to see if someone can hint me in the right direction. I do mainly short to medium hops in the alps / mediterrean area with my majestic dash during ASN / REX weather and since I am doing great on the FPS-Side (35 - 50 FPS) and on the VAS-Side (never even got near the ping of death lately, eg. 1.5 GB of VAS to spare). This I do with photo tapestry underneath me from various sources (MSE, CH PRO X, France VFR) which gives me something nice to look at while at cruise level. So by looking forward the peaks of the alps look very blurr…

I have installed FTX region Australia. It is in my scenery folder in the ORBX folder in FSX but when I go to search for it in the configurator there is nothing. I dug a little deeper and went under tools and checked all installed scenery and it shows all my AU scenery in a unknown. I double checked when I started fsx in the scenery library and they are checked so that means they are there but for some reason aren't showing up on the ftx central 2. Any thoughts? Hello, I just finished building and setting up my new rig and wanted to start with some descent addons to make the sim look better. I wanted to take advantage of the sale and get Global, Vector, OpenLC and maybe a couple of airports. Since I have read here or somewhere else that OrbX airports add a bunch of DLL entries to the DLL.XML file and seeing that it could potentially stress the sim I was wondering if there was an installation option to disable all these extras that affect the simulator or can one go an edit the DLL.XML and remove these entries so one can keep a "clean" sim. Thanks for any information that you can share.

hey guys for some reason my default flight Beech Baron w G1000 appears with engines off ...I did save it with engines running...any way to change back to engines running? thanks Peeter

I could not resist any longer, & just went ahead and joined the Prepar3d community...I am a long time FS user since the DOS 2.X or as we called back in those days MS-DOS days...now the FSX, & recently FSE:Steam edition. Read so much about on this forum about installation tips & other issues before the install--a big thanks to all members, and managed to get P3D running in a few minutes, and it definitely does have that similar FSX feel, but the looks are definitely much more improved over my default/stock FSX...Just like most, have invested lots of FSX mods & add ons that cannot be ported over, so I guess have no choice now, but to begin the reinvestme…

Hey, I'm currently setting up P3D next to FSX. At all all worked fine with some tutorials and so I wanted to do some flights. For that I need EZCA to fly inside the VC. But EZCA is causing P3D to abort the start with the error "Prepar3D.exe is not working....searching for a solution via internet". And ECZA says simulatouns "FSX process not found". In FSx it's working Do you havy an idea?

Recently I decided to move Prepar3D 2.5 to a new hard drive. I reloaded the software and once I had done that I moved my old aircraft/guages/ effects files directly into the program. Now not only won't the Raptor initialize but none of the other aircraft showup. Anything I can do to change this? Just know enough about Windows to get in trouble. Using Windows 7 Home so a lot of possible solutions are not available. Jim

Has anyone tried installing the current version of UTX Canada into P3Dv2.5?

I assumed I should start asking this question on the P3D forum, but have not had any luck w/ any sort of response. I have always found this group to be knowledgeable and helpful. When I fly at night in P3D V.4 I am unable to see the ALS strobe landing light system at any airport (addon or existing). I have been reading up on the subject and see that the latest Nvidia driver causes some issues so I have reverted back to a previous driver (344.75), but still have the issue. I can see the PITA landing lights, but the ALS system is not visible….any help would be appreciated.

I've been using Orbx England for some time now to fly GA and not had any issues however now that I am playing with larger aircraft I am experiencing problems. I load the default 737 and place it at a gate and as soon as it's loaded it either crashes or places the aircraft away from the gate, sometimes on the wrong side of the building. I've tried small, medium and heavy gates at both Heathrow and Gatwick and numerous gates. When I use the default scenery it seems OK. Alan
