I am currently using the GTN 750 which I bought last weekend. Great add-on. I usually fly in Norway and whenever I used the default GPS I always turned messages off because I hated that blinking yellow sign. The GTN 750 has an even bigger message icon blinking all the time. Now I noticed you can turn off any or all messages concerning airspace which is great because now I don't have to turn messages off every time. But after doing so I thought it's in fact a shame to not use that option... So for the first time in my live I am wondering how to deal with airspaces in the sim. I wonder if you can even deal with them at all...? Whenever I get a message about an airspace whic…

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone can make any sense of the LEPA charts for me. I have them right here but I'm unsure what the capture altitude for the glideslope is on runway 06L? I've looked at the charts but it doesn't seem very obvious from my end? Any advice? Thanks! -YorkiesWorld

ORBX products listed "compatibility" with FSX to P3Dv3, but notice that the products don't claim that they are specifically designed to take advantage of each sim strengths. Which made me wonder which sim platform is the primary one where this stuffs really shine. I happen to have P3D v1 all the way to v3, FSX and FSX-SE and have been using ORBX products in P3D for a while, now on v3 (using only those that have compatible installers). Recently following a post by a fellow simmer and came across another post at ORBX forum claiming that ORBX products are better in FSX, I pulled out my FSX-SE license, reinstall ORBX again in there. To my surprise, they are better in FSX,…

Hello guys, I am thinking about buying ProATC. Can someone please give me a short Feedback how I can plan a flight with PFPX, import this into ProATC X and then into the plane (Aerosoft Airbus / PMDG 777) itself? I read a lot, but cannot find a real good tutorial. And: Can you recommend Pro ATC X? Thanks in advance! Best regards, Stefan

I was wondering what people feel might be the best way to remove a/c from showing up in the user interface. I've typically removed a/c, and in particular, repaints I don't use to declutter the menu in FSX. I've just moved to P3D 3.1. Commenting out the [flightsim.x] line removes the a/c, but any missions that use that can't access the a/c either. In FSX, I could get rid of the UI titles/info section under the [flightsim.x] heading and this would remove the a/c, while still leaving it accessible if needed for the simulator. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work in P3D and I was wondering if there was a better way than what I am doing?

Hey simmers! Quick question apropos the late John Patch's wonderful VanPlus v3 scenery, specifically within Prepar3D v3. For any of you who know the scenery, I've noticed a heavy shimmering on the Alex Fraser Bridge (about ten miles east of YVR), which does not diminish with distance. For example, I can be lining up at YVR and still see it well off in the distance, the only scenery object present with the distance, and incredibly bright and shimmering. I have FTX PNW installed, along with its config option in the options menu of VanPlus. Having come at a loss to find any active forums for the scenery, I thought I'd ask here. Thanks for any and all help! Derek

First off I want to say that this worked for me but may not for you! We all struggle with micro stutters sometime or another but it seems no matter what we try there is always a flashback now or then. Last week I read that someone tried a program called “Process Lasso”, I wanted to believe that this would work but I had my doubts. I have been using every tip and trick to get past the stutters that has surfaced here on Avsim and I thought I could do no more, well I was wrong. Let me say that I was amazed at the results with Process Lasso. Try it yourself; I hope you are as happy as I am. The first time I tried it the results were not much different than what I had…

I'll preface this by saying it's likely that I'm missing something obvious here, since I haven't been able to find anyone else with this exact problem. There are two issues here that are probably related. The first is I'm unable to set up a throttle directly in Prepar3D from the control settings. I can set the prop and mixture in there just fine, but not the throttle. This isn't a huge problem, since I normally set the controls through FSUIPC anyway, but I thought it might be relevant. When I do set up the throttle through FSUIPC, it doesn't work if I use the "send direct to FSUIPC calibration" action. So I can't use FSUIPC to calibrate the throttle. I have to us…

Hi All, I'm using Pro ATC in P3D v3.1 and it's mostly great. I think I'm still getting default P3D ATC over the top of my Pro ATC controllers. I renamed the default ATC file for P3D as suggested in the guide I read. It also says to un-tick "Voice" in the P3D options, but If I do that I lose my FS2Crew Pilot and First Officer Sounds. Does anyone know the solution to this please?

I got into FSX boxed just as Orbx was redesigning the FSX scenery as a series of modules. I have recently realised that I probably just got swept along in the hype and it seemed to be the most sensible solution to upgrade the default scenery. Of late I've really being regretting my impulsiveness. I mainly fly in and around Ireland and England and I fins that with all Orbx products turned off and all the FSX sliders pushed to the right, outside of the cities (I have London Heathrow and Dublin by Aerosoft) I just don't notice that much of a difference. I think REX HD 4 helps a lot as well. I have suffered two FSX drives crashes recently and trying to track down all…

Has anybody tried Oculus DK2 in P3D V3? I can borrow a DK2 one weekend? Is it hard to get working? I would really like to try it with the PMDG NGX. I would expect it would be quite difficult to fly with it. Or just try VFR flights with it. Many thanks Jools

I've had to reinstall the software and upon install, I select simulator to "Prepar3d" but when i create a flightplan and select fly now a box opens and says "Cannot connect to FSX". I think I am missing the simconnect file to use, I have been to the developer website and I have only found the network simconnect file, and I have posted on there forum but I have not received any reply's as of yet. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Sitting here @ 30+ fps with almost all the gates filled with traffic...amazing, considering the dismal performance with the stock scenery. I thought I'd have to wait till Maxwell to see these kind of numbers at KSEA, but just goes to show how a well optimized addon can make things sing. Anyone know if T2G VHHH runs just as well (or if any of their airports are V3 ready)?!

Hi Folks, Question: It seems that P3D is missing many of the default buildings available in FSX... For example - KMSV has no hangars however when I open the AFCAD (for lack of a better term) in ADE - the buildings are clearly shown... Is there a missing object library or is it something on my end ??? Thanks... Regards, Scott

Something that can kill the immersion feel of flying is when the clouds seems to almost go by in slowmotion during descend. I do have a feeling that it has improved over FSX over time but cannot place the reason for it. Maybe it is the ASN engine ? or may LM has improved it. Would be great if the speed of the clouds could be adjusted like the sim speed it self. Michael Moe

I'm considering purchasing the gtn750 but i'm not sure if it is possible to share the same flight plan with voxatc. As i understand it, vox only refer to the standard flight plan from Prepar3d so its based on the old nav data. The GTN will use an updated database so how can we use both system together?

Hi all I have installed the 2006 Abacus EZGPS ver 2 gauge into P3D 3.1 and it works very well (I know it;s old, but I like it). The only problem is when I try to switch planes, it crashes the sim. If I remove the gauge reference from the panel.cfg file, everything is OK, so it is obviously the gauge that doesn't like P3D. Interestingly, if I don't access the gauge in the installed aircraft everything is fine with no crashes. I copied over my UIAutomationCore.dll from FSX-SE, but that didn't help. Event Viewer gives me this error message: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 3.1.2.15831, time stamp: 0x5672b60a Faulting module name: KERNELBA…

Good day fellow avsimmers, Well after many many years of being away from flight simming I am coming back, I was a fs9 user, just bought a new system and purchased fsx as it was dirt cheap through steam, although still haven't decided if I'll be investing in fsx or p3d. Main question, I can run fsx well on my system, wondering if users of both sims can give me an idea as in if I can run fsx fairly well, would I be able to run p3d? Or does p3d need much more horsepower(I already saw the min. Specs, but I'm trying to get a better idea from users) Thanks

Hi everyone I am having a weird effect in my Prepar3D V2.5. It appears on the aircraft model that the Anti Aliasing is off, which it is not in my settings. I have a 4790k at 4.2 ghz and a GTX 950 2gb. It is most noticeable in the PMDG 737 on the wings, overhead and the edges of the displays. I will attach some screenshots asap. Is there something I could change in Nvidia Control Panel? Thanks Freddie Clarke
