I have a question for the tech experts on P3D... If I deselect the Volumetric Fog option in P3D, does this mean that the clouds are non volumetric too? Or are they still volumetric with this option set to off? The reason I ask is that turning off volumetric fog makes my sim so much smoother...

What extensions does P3D recognize? I've been using Aivlasoft's EFB, so this is new. I create a flight plan at Skyvector's website and then copy the route and load it up in Simbrief. I've tried downloading all the different flight plans and the only one that shows up is the FSX .pln, but then it's a completely different route and altitude setup. No matter what route I choose, P3D loads the .pln file as the same route every time. Skyvector has a "Send Plan to" feature, but it exports to ForeFlight, .flp, or .gpx. Any other ideas for flight planning. I enjoyed Aivlasoft's EFB, but not $70 worth.

hello sim wold, I have just bought the orbx global base, and are having major issues. To start I recently had an error when loading up my FSX saying "scenery.cfg" area 127 error." I think i got that solved by making it "true" for required default scenery? No error but i cant tell the difference in from the base scenery that came with FSX. Next i loaded my plane in the airports and every time at a gate it would open with a 'crash' so i started going to active run ways with the same thing. i have uninstalled and re installed no help and miraculously now there are black spots, trees on the runway and the runway actually looks elevated or floating i putting my scenery.c…

Every time I click on the dispatcher I get a message saying "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004/X or Lockheed-Martin Prepar3D path could not be found!" Using P3D V3

Will start by saying my intention is not to start a flaming P3D vs XP war so for anyone not able to behave in a grown-up and civil way please find another kindergarten. Hello, I have both Ultimate Terrain Europe X and FTX Global installed on my P3D. The question is: should I disable some features from UTX? I mean, is there any duplicate, unnecessary features that might cause extra stress to the performance? Cheers Virtpilot

In my humble opinion.... YES! I have not felt this happy about flightsim in years. Yes, its expensive and I know plenty are having VAS issues etc..., but so far I have not encountered one problen. It feels great to have something new to learn. I have gotten a little tired of Boeings as they all become rather familiar to one another. I like to fly real flights, and not having an A320 really limited some of my flight options (especially around Europe!) My hangar has now slimmed down to some A2A GA's, PMDG 777 and MJC Q400. Hey guys, sorry im posting so regularly i must be annoying some :D. currently in my system im running an 7600k @ 4.5ghz, GTX 970 and 8gb of ram ddr4 2133mhz. would i see a difference if i stick another 8gb module in there?. would you consider it to be a positive. i know p3d is 32bit but would it help a little :D

Hi, I don't know if anyone could help or if anyone has come across the same issue. I go to open Prepar3d on my PC and the splash screen appears then after that, a screen should come up giving you the option to select your aircraft and starting airport etc. I don't get that screen. The splash screen disappears and nothing displays. I check my task manager and see that Prepar3d is still running in the task manager but not displaying. It doesn't show as running in the taskbar either. I've not changed anything in the sim either, it just randomly started occurring when I came to load P3D the other day. Can anyone help me please? Hey All, I'm currently using a GTX 750 Ti and I think the time has come to upgrade that GPU. It depends on the situation but sometimes the 750 ti has a 100% load and everything starts to stutter so I put the tessellation settings to low. I'm planing that when I have a more powerful GPU, these stutters will go away and after putting the tessellation setting to max I get a small fps boost too. It's very important to know that I don't play a lot of graphic intensive games and when I do the settings don't have to be on ultra. For me it's no problem if they are "only" on high, as long as the frames are at 45, witch I'm getting at the moment. I have 2 possibilit…

Hello..I have Windows 10x64. I am trying to get rid of that grainy background noise when you have all the volume turned down in the settings (cockpit envoirment..etc etc etc) and you still have that Horrible sound that you have to tolerate. I have the onboard audio on the motherboard. Would like to have dead silence or at least filter out that background sound. I downloaded a sound equalizer and was going to see if I could filter it out. My problem is everytime I move mouse from p3dv3 to the equalizer. the p3dv3 sound goes off and I can filter or work with it. Is there a way to stop that. Hope you understand what I mean. Hi event logger says its a kernal power error however this doesn't happen on any other planes other than carenado pc12 and alabeo da42 1. i select aircraft and airport then load p3d 2. as soon as i connect to vpliot it freezes my p3d then it crashes both of them this doesn't happen to any other aircraft apart from carenado's and with the kernal power error my system doesn't overheat shutdown e.t.c please help

Noticed already some years ago, but now - since I fly mainly online on PilotEdge - it is quite obvious: The letter code of the ATIS message is different in AS16 (and ASN) on 122.0 compared to the internal P3D radio message when the airport ATIS frequency is tuned in. Simulator and AS16 are both set to realtime of course. The code differs significantly, for instance it might be "Hotel" on AS16 and "Whiskey" in P3D. Now...which one should be reported to the ATC system...?

Hello all, I've followed the instructions to locate my shaders folder going via AppData, Lockheed Martin. However, the only 3 folders I find are Facilities, Resources and SceneryIndexes. Does anybody have any ideas? Many thanks, Jonathan

Good morning, The scenery of the airport itself is perfect, but the city modelling is a way too FS9-nish standards + VAS issues. Are there any specific bgls that I would remove to get rid of the city? Thanks

Does anyone know if there are any AFCAD editing softwares out there that can turn taxiways into one way directions? I've recently starting using the amazing AI controller Ver2 that has an option to detect one direction taxiways but I don't know how to make this happen. thanks Ice

Hi guys, First time to try a flight from Sweden. When FSX loaded at the airport, no buildings, only jetways. I closed and ran the Orbx vector correction tool. Clicked apply, and reloaded FSX. No change, no buildings. How can i fix this? Thanks for any suggestions!
