Hello, I want to fly some rounds with my Cessna 172 in the US. Can you name some good freeware vfr airfields? There were some from ORBX, but I can't find them anymore.

I have always found night flying in FSX and pre-V4 P3D to be un-realistic... I found it to be way too bright, and airport night lighting was just always too dark and never gave me the feeling of night flying like I have experienced in real life. With the update of V4 and dynamic lighting, I have found night flying to be much MUCH better, and way more realistic. However, there is still a problem that I can't seem to solve... The moon shining light on my aircraft is WAYY too bright!! It completely lights up my entire airplane, to the point at wing view the entire wing is bright white milky color. Even at midnight. Hi, I use p3d v4 with high gaming PC i7 6700k 1080ti GPU 32GB Ram. 4k tv 30htz 49 inches with 2 extra monitors For AS4 wether and some more. My setting are high and in a dense scenery (Aerosoft Heathrow Pro for p3d4) usually with the PMDG 737 I get around 30-35 FPS. So, what I want to find out is Why while I undock either the ATC menu or undock a new View window my FPS increase in VC up to 75-90 and in external view more than 100. Is that normal and why without to undock a window remains 30-35? Maybe has to do with some settings of mine? I run p3d in window mode. Please is it someone with good knowledge to advise me?

I'd love to fly there, does anyone know if it's compatible with it or will work in P3D v4?

Hi! is there any way to disable orbx base trees? Before you could disable them through ftx central but now I can't find anywhere to disable it. Thanks, Max

Good morning friends, I would like to ask you for some help. I found that the Up-Down-Left-Right buttons is programed to move the Stick. Is there a way to use these buttons to move inside the virtual cockpit, save the views I like and assign them using the numpad ? I know that this could be done in another sim, using the Ctrl key and the number you like to use. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards, Anty

Bought the new Carenado 172 Skyhawk and discovered the Weather Radar during setting up the avionics I had enjoyed Weather Radar in P3Dv3.4 and FSX in Milviz planes Discovered that my P3Dv4 Carenado planes had Weather Radar too! Not all but it is there in Phenom 100 and300,206 Stationair,Citation 525A CJ2 and H25BH850 XP Onwards and upwards A small point- if Radar is on the often no room for GPS -third Avionics panel needed? xxd09

Hi, I worked in Panther (Copter) simulator development with Prepar 3D 3.2 (flight simulation software). I have installed the first version of Dirk Fassbender Autopilot and then the update. Everything was ok. I can drive all the autopilot modes with the Autopilot module. But now I want to stimulate Autopilot modes directly in P3D. I don’t know how this module works. When I have downloaded the HC075DI_FSX_COUGAR_AUTOPILOT.zip I saw that inside there was a file called afcp.cfg. I have the F1-GNS-750 and AntsAirplane’s Eaglet. When both loading and activating an approach, the approach waypoints load in both the GNS-750 and the Eaglet panel. 30% of the time, the autopilot (nav mode) locks on to the 1st waypoint of the approach and proceeds in sequence. The problem… 70% of the time, I get a [susp] icon on the GNS-750 (at the bottom) and pressing the [unsusp] button that also appears, I get a message “waypoint sequence suspended” with a missed approach title. I just can't contain my feelings for this wonderful program: Prepar3dv4. Being a simmer for well over 25 years, I thought there was no light at the end of the FSX tunnel Microsoft stopped upgrading and supporting this product, and I felt real despair for my most important hobby and love. Rarely does a day go by that I don't fly somewhere in simulation. I have learned so very much about aviation, and spent untold dollars enhancing this important part of my life. Hello all, A small gripe here so please bear with me. Has anyone noticed the HUGE number of Australian Airports ORBX have released for P3Dv4. NONE, not effin one, I can't help thinking that they are chasing the almighty dollar when they are releasing new sceneries and have not yet upgraded already released stuff. I must admit to feeling left out and a little stupid. When PDv4 was released, I purchased my FIRST Orbx products (FTX Global and the Australian Airports. I have just moved over from FSX to p4d and am still struggling with getting it the way I want. The virtual cockpit views on the supplied aircraft are fine but a long way away to see switches and things though you can use keys to move in and out but they are a far form what I would call a pilot view being too high which makes it seem you are not flying the plane as a pilot. IN FSX I used ezdoc to sort this but for most of the comfortable views the pilot seat is in the way or you are too close and If I go above the seat then the fusilage is in the way. I also can't find a key combination to change the zoom of width of the view you see - it used to be ctrl + and ctrl - …

I have had the issue that a lot of people have reported with a recent Windows 10 update, that cause P3D to stop working. One piece of advice was to uninstall the update, which I did. Now P3D runs, but my throttles, yokes and joysticks are a total mess (jumping all over, all my FSUIPC mapping does not seem to work properly) I think the next (more complete step) is to reinstall P3D entirely. My question is; how do I do this most effectively? Also - do I need to reinstall all my addons as well? What a mess... any help would be most welcome. Thanks, Daniel

Some Orbx sceneries aren't working for me in P3Dv4. 1 – Yosemite. The cliff of Half Dome looks like it has been scooped out and left with a big black scar. 2 – Devils Tower. The base and the facilities and helipad are there, but the tower itself is missing. 3 – Monument Valley. The airstrip is there and looks as it should with all the structures. But the hoodoos (rock formations) that make Monument Valley Monument Valley are missing. In each case I have uninstalled and reinstalled each scenery from FTX Scenery 3 but the missing part are still missing. I do have Object Flow 2 installed through Fastlane. My P3Dv4 was smooth as silk and I was following my own instructions, go slow, add one thing at a time. Everything was great. Orbx Global, all regions, a hundred Orbx airports, Vector, OpenLC...still going strong, smooth as silk. Started adding planes, so far so good. Loaded up V4 and still it was great. Then sort of went a bit wild, added REX4+Soft Clouds (the new hot patch), added my new Turbulent Designs, added loads of Norway freeware, yup still good but noticed a few stutters, added more planes and started experimentation with older installers on planes. I was flying my P3d v3 using A2A 172 with standard weather fair day when suddenly I got severe wind shear. My 172 pitched up and down violently. I thought is was a fluke and flew a flight plan using GTN 750 and the autopilot flying the 172 and again the plane pitched up and down violently. Both times it was a fair day without wind using standard weather. I have read others having this problem but I have seen no cause for the or solution to the problem. Is it the GTN, the autopilot or something in the weather. I was using Orbx Nothern California.

Hi, I had FTX Central installed for a while now, however never used it. So I integrated all sceneries I had bought at FSS into ORBX account. That worked very well and I think it is a good tool to work with. However, I haven't been able to install updates for products that I have as DVD's. Now I am wondering how can I get these updates for boxed version.

Lockheed Martin (Adam Breed) just announced in their reddit AMA event that P3D V4.1 will release on 10 Oct 2017 at 3PM EST.
