Hi all, I'd like to move my shipping traffic files outside of the P3D tree structure so I don't loose them on any updates. Every instruction I've read regarding .bgl files that have to do with shipping very clearly state to install them into the scenery/world/scenery folder. Is there a technical reason for this? Will there be any issues moving the scenery and ai ship folders to their own unique location outside of p3d? Thanks, LouP

....when I utilize the mouse frequently. Seems it happens when I check the default GPS by clicking on the mileage zoom dial, or click on any of the various functions of the GPS. It only crashes after significant flight time also. Usually 75% into a flight, the mouse activity causes P3d to crash. Any one else getting “stopped working” crashes in 4.1? Stan

Just wonder, I just completed the upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 and when I checked the Help section on the tool bar in the sim and opened the About LM P3D the version shown was 4.0.28.21686 and not 4.1.xx. Is this normal? I know the installed worked because if I try to re-install I get a message asking me if I want to repair or uninstall ver 4.1. Pierre

Hello to all, First of all, i know this question gets asked a lot... My current build is: Cooler Master CM 690 III, Intel Core i7 4790K 4.0 GHz overclocked to max 4,7 ghz, Cooler Master Hyper 412S, MSI Z97-G45 Gaming, Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB DDR3-1866, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, SSD Crucial MX100 256GB, 1000 GB 2nd hard disk, 1000W Cooler Master V1000 Series. I have used p3d v3 with a lot of addons like pmdg 737 + FS2crew, gsx, ftx global, frx vector, rex 4 + soft clouds and asn. It runs, but not that smooth as i would like. Now i want to uodate to p3d v4, a'd wonder if a new PC would be a good choice. The other option is upgrading the gpu, but i do not …

Just as a heads up as I had put voxatc v6 aside. V7.4 was released on 31 July with P3dv4 support. v6 owners get a £20 discount too. This has been discussed in the voxatc forum but I hadn't been in there in a while. By pure chance I looked in and saw this. Just thought I'd give a heads up as I'm sure there are others too who liked earlier versions but put it aside due to slow development. It is possibly the best voice atc out there due to control of the ai, real icao phrases, vfr and sids/stars etc. Installing now, 7 day trial before it needs registering too! Chris

I'm using P3d V4 with Win 10 and have a problem with loading the program (using sign in as Administrator). I start P3d and get the splash screen from there on it can take up to 30 minutes to load. Using task master I can see that the "memory" fluctuates up and down at will. As an example: 333,322,278,323,358,373,319,342,377,393,390 Any help would be appreciated Dave Butler

I can load any airport in P3D but one HDAM. When I select the airport P3D loads to 37% and stays there. This happens with the default and freeware scenery.

Hi All, Just a few thoughts on VR in the current build of P3D The world seems too "small". it feels like I'm sitting in a toy plane about half the correct size. Flyinside had a "world scaling" option that solved this, is there something we can do in P3D? There simply has to be a better option for having a mouse pointer in VR. You have to hold your head still to click anything and this is so frustrating. i spend lots of time trying to find where the mouse is. can't the mouse be completely detached from my head movement? the mouse pointer should maybe stay in a fixed place in the world and ONLY move when i move my mouse, therefore you always know where yo…

Can someone walk me through step by step how to install P3D 4.1 I find the website completely and utterly vague. I uninstalled the client in 4.0, now how do I re-install it without having to do a COMPLETE re-install

I am getting ready to install the latest release, but I want my add-ons and scenery.cfg left alone. Can I run the full executable on top of the earlier version? I worry that an uninstall will lose all my settings and add-on scenery and aircraft. John

I have done a search for TOPCAT here and just come up blank. Is there any way to add or update the aircraft database in Topcat?

Hello, I'm using P3D v3 at the moment, having quite a few add ons and everything is working flawlessly, no CTDs or anything. Airplane Add Ons are: Aerosoft Airbus (wanna switch to FSL anyway) Aerosoft CRJ PMDG NGX PMDG 747 Majestic Dash 8 Now, besides the Airbusses and the Dash8 which is actually coming to V4 this month, there are no incompatibilities. But to the scenerys. In my setup it seems that HIFI's update of ASP4 has broken the simconnect functionality to display precipitation on wx radar. I have tested this with Rolands WX radar and PMDG 777. No precipitation is shown on the radar screens. Does anybody see the same with the new build of ASP4? I am still on P3D V4.0. Just in case that the new build should only work with 4.1. Cheers, Chris

Is it possible to skip version 4.1 and later install a 4.2 or 4.3 build? Or, are they dependent on the previous builds?

I know these topics are a dime a dozen, but I can't seem to find a similar one to my issue. I hadn't used P3D v4 for some weeks, maybe months. I don't believe I've changed much on my system, although I did add Oculus. I suspect that's unrelated though, as I've been in P3D v4 since adding Oculus software. Initially, my issue was the splashscreen hung. 10+ minutes would not advance to the main menu. I tried a few of the tried and true solutions...restarting, ensuring AV excluded P3D. By the end of this month P3Dv4 (v4.1 really) IMHO will finally be the sim I have been hoping for since I got it back in June. We have had one small common issue with ground handling that has been determined got broken in a fix and all the A2A planes are now being fixed in a hotfix; "In v4.1 we fixed an issue with an incorrect unit conversion for body relative rotations in the SDK. Even though i have been reading a lot of stuff about it i cant get to final conclusion (i am away from PC for some days :) ) I have a 1440p monitor and a GTX 1070 , and i want to get rid of AA by using DSR in order to keep Dynamic lighting on :) ...and all these in windowed mode. Has anyone got this to work?

So now with P3Dv4.1 released, the update we all so patiently waited for and with lots of of people already done some flying...what improvements did you found so far over P3Dv4? Personally I upgraded today but didn't get the chance to do any flying. I've seen some people reporting improved performance while others say it's pretty much the same. We got v/c rain but so far only in the default aircraft and not exactly of the quality we hoped for. A chance for 3rd party developers to improve the effect though which is great. Dynamic lighting where most seemed to be pretty sure improved performance would be part of this version turned out to be only us dreaming. …

For now I just updated the client to 4.1. But if I wanted to update the content is it the same procedure. Uninstall from control panel and run the content MSI. What would I have to reinstall in my sim. Would I have to install my pmdg and or scenery again? It is confusing. I'm just dreading having to mess around with installing all my add-ons again everytime a new version is released.
