Hi I'm just starting to learn how to use P3D, and I'm at a bit of a loss about how to learn. Because I'm new, I'm starting with the Beechcraft Bonanza A-36, which I've learnt how to fly (out of the box). But before I move on I want to learn how to start up the engines. P3d always starts with the engines running so it seems not important to them, but it is to many of us. Because it starts with the engines running, it would be good to know : - how to shut down the engines - how to start then from cold - how to save this situation for this, and maybe all the other aircraft for the next day I would really appreciate a reply, thanks for reading it. …

Hello everyone Just a very quick question. When it says to delete your P3dv4 config file and let it rebuild do you have to reset everything again. I do take a copy of my live Config file and wondered if you delete the contents of the new rebuilt one and copy into it the details form the copy one is this adequate. What does everyone else do. Hi all, Long story, short; was out of flight simming for a number of years (FS9 last platform), then returned to P3D with a new build: i6700k, GTX970, ASUS z170a Motherboard, SSD, Windows 10 Home 64. Thought I was set. Started with P3Dv3, and started to buy add-ons. Then my SSD blew up. Replaced that. Then Windows 10 installed updated that broke P3D - a coupled of times. Solved that. Then upgraded to P3Dv4. Then my motherboard blew up. All of this 2 years after getting back to flight simming again. It's been expensive and problematic, to say the least. But whoa is me, everyone has had their issues - that's not my point. …

Hello, I just acquired the version for P3DV4 but I can not change with CPAL the units nor the starting status nor the control of the nose wheel The mjc84 file in the ini folder does not change. thanks for your advices Best regards

I'm using joystick rudder as nose wheel steering. I assigned it from FSUPIC, Axis assignment, send direct to FSUPIC calibration, Steering Tiller. Suddenly, this axis starts control rudder only. I tried to use another axis for Steering Tiller but I got the same result. How can I fix that?

Hi, I have a Problem every time I go into, my Options Control Panel and set up my Saitek Pro flight yoke I.e.: Parking Brakes, Throttle decrease quickly, View next Category, Etc.: Etc. And come out of there. It’s fine until I shut down the Prepare 3D V4. Then the next time I start it up I have lost all my settings. Can someone out there straighten out this old fellow up on what to do as I have tried everything but still failing? to correct my problem. Any help will be much appreciated. Jack Nicholl

Problems with frames, possibly a BUG? When Prepar3Dv4.2 runs as an "active" program, I get about 20 to 40 frames / second. But if I select another program (set a other window as active) then P3D increases the frames abruptly to 60 to 80 frames / second. If I click again into the P3D window, the frames are again reduced by half! Also, there is a problem when I outsource (undock) a window from the P3D: This reduces the frames suddenly to the half! If I close the undocked window, or dock this window to P3D, the number of frames is immediately increased again to double. Have you ever noticed this behavior? About a "BUG"? I've managed to appear back in the Flight simming community after a few years in the wilderness 🤣 Obviously as an FSX user, i've been looking at upgrading to P3Dv4. Hence, what version should I buy if I want to upgrade? Academic? Professional? Thanks in advance Jarrad

I'm looking at adding a tri engine older aircraft to the P3D v4 fleet & budget wise can't stretch to more than one at the moment. JF have the DC-10 HD 10 - 40 collection & the L-1011 TrisStar Pro available. Anyone have both in v4 & have an opinion as to whether one is markedly better than the other as regards: - Flight performance realism - Cockpit visuals - Ability to perform instrument landing - Sound Thanks T45

Sorry tried to post this in the Riddlez support forum but it appears to be out of commission. The Riddlez KBLI is a lovely scenery especially when one has collected all of the nearby Orbx sceneries, but I'm having an awful time with the detailed ground poly with the taxiway textures/puddles/taxi lines "flashing" between on and off depending on one's point of view and moving the camera. I found that the issue is tied to the file KBLI_MSC_GP_P3Dv3.BGL as turning this file extension to "off" cures the flashing (but leaves one without the nicely detailed taxiway/apron poly). Anybody else experience this and/or know what a fix may be - I've not seen this with ot…

All default sceneries that I checked are okay but not KATL(Atlanta). Plenty of planes situated as if at a gate....but only 5 or 6 gates. Some of them are even moving for load/unload. Runways, taxiways, etc are normal but NO terminals or buildings of any kind. I have searched for duplicate entries but found none. Don't know what else to try. I really need KATL as a hub. In the meantime I am using P3Dv3 where default KATL is okay. Anyone have a fix for this? Regards to all Neal Howard

Hi! I saw two joysticks on the Internet. One is Aircraft Controls Engineering 737 Yoke,the other is OpenCockpits 737 yoke.I want to ask which one is better for the P3D. Who has experienced these two joysticks?Please tell me.Thank you.

Good day everyone, Having recently switched over to P3D from FS9 I’m wondering whether I should spend the 90$ on PMDG 737 or wait for a possible remake that’s been mentioned every now and again. I did purchase their 747 and it’s an amazing aircraft, Last PMDG I’ve purchased prior to the 747 was their 737 for fs9. They have made great advancements since then and am very impressed by the quality and immersion of the 747, And would imagine their other offerings would offer the same however I’m worried I would spend the 90$ and don’t want to have a new release 2 months later etc. this is more of a “What would you do” type question? So I'm trying to tune my sim a bit, get it as smooth as possible. I know a lot of people use a lower desktop refreshrate, like 30- or 25Hz and then use Vsync + Triple Buffering within the settings. My question is, I see most people running these settings also run 'unlimited' with their framerate limiter / target frame rate slider. When you run the internal limiter, you also dedicate more time to the rendering of the terrain via FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION, which I believe defaults to 0.33. My question is, what happens when you only run Vsync + TB + Unlimited. Does that also dedicate more CPU time to the rendering of the terrain or would that also revert to its lowest s…

Looking to add another aircraft and it's between the Maddog and the QW787. I'm aware they are opposite ends of the technology spectrum but that's fine as I enjoy both. The Maddog has been out for awhile with a few patches/fixes and I am interested in how everything is working. As I can't get access to the official Maddog forum till a purchase is made that source of info is not available. Any thoughts/input would be really appreciated. Dave

I've been pondering going to a 2 monitor setup for a while. 1 for cockpit 2nd for external / other views. Currently have a Acer 34 XR. Now, what should I do? add a 2nd XR 34 (pricey) add an additional 27" (or so) for cockpit view? go to a 2 monitor 4k setup? 27" or so? Current system is i7-6700k @ 4.5Ghz - GTX1080.

Hi guys, i have a problem with the installation of FTX Central 3. I already made a post at the support forum of orbx. Maybe someone will find a solution. I already figuered out that there is maybe a problem with the .NET Framework stuff. I cleared the Windows 10 Framework and reinstalled it. I also checked my registry, but there seems to be no mistake. I tried to reinstall FTX Central 3 several times after deleting the folders in AppData. But no change at all. I used one of these yokes over the weekend and it was probably the most immersive 5 minutes of flightsimming I've ever had.- apart from VR It's hard to describe - but it does feel like a real yoke in flight. It certainly isn't cheap but I'm damn tempted. I currently use the PFC Beech yoke, having come from the Saitek unit. I've used this analogy elsewhere but the leap in difference between the PFC yoke and the Brunner unit was as significant for me as the leap in difference between the Saitek yoke and the PFC yoke. Has anyone else bought one? Any issues with it in P3D? The forces seem scalable to the type of aircraft you are flying which is great.
