I'm not a regular visitor to the P3D Forum but when I saw a question about which version of P3D would be best to buy I did a bit of research and posted what I thought was a helpful reply. There were a couple of replies which I thought were a bit abrupt and then Father Bill closes the thread. Is there a ban on this type of discussion because if there is I don't see any warning messages about it at the top of this section. If a moderator is going to lock the thread may I at least have an explanation as to why?

When you change views (left seat to right, inside to outside etc) a text message appears in the upper right corner of the monitor indicating that you are in a different view (Always thought that was strange, can't you see you are in a different view? Duh! But I digress). If I remember correctly you could change the length of time that message displays by changing a figure in the (then) FSX.cfg file. What is the value that needs to be changed in the P3D.cfg file?

Hi all, does anybody know if FS Recorder works in Prepar3d v2.2? In the old Compatibility List for P3D2 it was stated that version 1.331 works. But does it still work in v2.2? I'm asking because the new built-in flight recorder doesn't do a very good job when recording flights with add-on aircraft and I would prefer to use FS Recorder. Thanks!

Would like to put out for discussion the pricing of 3rd party add-ons for P3Dv2. It seems that P3D2 is not fully backwards compatible for all aircraft and scenery products. I don't think that's anything to complain to LM about, as we do not want LM to tie their hands trying to achieve full FSX compatibility, as this would preclude some of the enhancements that they are seeking. But this means that the 3rd party developers are now having to make some modifications to their products to make them compatible with P3D2. Some developers are offering their products as either FSX or P3D2 compatible, for one price, say $40 or as compatible with both, at say $50 or $60. It seems …

This is something I've only noticed recently. I got ORBX recently, but I cannot say with absolute certainty if this issue began since installing that, or if it was in fact always there. Basically, when I fly up high (typically at least 25,000 feet or so), I start to notice that bridges and other certain structures look distorted. It's almost like I'm seeing the pillars that extend into the ground get stretched. It's very hard to explain, so I've included a screenshot below. Again, this only happens up high. When I get lower, the structures end up looking normal. Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks! PS: If the image is too large, let me…

I need to create a few scenery add-ons for an existing airport to facilitate some testing that we are doing on our sim. I am in the process of purchasing P3d v2, but the simulator we are testing is running P3d v1.21. Will the scenery work if I develop it in v2 and then try to run it on v1.21, or do I have to purchase v1.21?

Found it a bit surprising that there aren't more responses in the "Feature Requests" part of the P3D forums! Just added my vote for better rain/snow effects, and volume settings for AI traffic sounds: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=6758 http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=6809 C'mon folks, the two above are pretty tame - I'm sure there are more than a few amazing / cockamamy ideas floating around out there

15:00 HRS, EST...if you fly an approach to runway 5, with full graphics in operation, I find a most realistic ORBX Global mix of straight roads, and cul-de-sac suburbs surrounding the many small lakes that also themselves, surround KGIF. This ORBX airport, had made me wish to take a bike trip down to this area of Florida for sure! I have a thing for lake shores, ocean shores...water bodies of any kind, really...(I was probably a duck in my last incarnation, lol!), and oh...thunderstorms and rumble can be heard through the headset, at my posted flight time, though the activity not truly near the airport at this time. Doing touch and go's off of runway 5, and enjoying all…

Hey guys, I've got a bunch of fsx addon that I'd like to try to see if they work in P3D V2.2 such as the dash8 and the c172. the thing is, when i install them in fsx, i get prompt to allow the sim to add the .dll references to fsx.cfg however, I dont see that happening in P3D v2.2... How am I suppose to know what .dll files does the addon need to function or how could i enable that message to allow p3d to add the .dll to the .cfg file ? Thanks in advance for your help

Hello, I'm after some ideas please, I'm asking is it possible to change view, to look around, using some other device than the mouse or TrackIR. I was thinking of a small self cantering joystick that returns to the forward view once I've looked around. I've tried TrackIR but I can't get on with it and I find the mouse too tedious, having to centre it each time. All ideas most welcome please. Thanks Phil Murfin

Hi All, I, like many, will be installing P3D V2 on Monday for the first time. I have FSX and a whole bunch of add-ons such as Orbx, REX, Opus, etc. Is there anything that I should be concerned about when installing P3D in case it effects the FSX installation or vice-versa? I understand that the latest updates to Orbx are already P3D ready. TIA Daz

Hi, Im using a Mac Pro 3.1 for Gaming. Right now I have installed an HD6870 GPU. My Plan ist to buy a GTX780 but I dont know if there is a Big advantage since my System is pretty old. Im using 8x2.6ghz Intel Xeon CPUs 18gb RAM 512 GB SSD. What do you think, is my rig capable of handling the new Power GPU or is it the Bottleneck and I should think about buying an i7? Regards

Hi, Does anyone know if there are key commands for iFly's 737NG aircraft to bring up the following 2D panels (as overlays) while in V/C mode. Checked all the books but didn't see anything about assigning these key commands to buttons. 1. Overhead 2. Aft-Overhead 3. Pedestal 4. CDU 5. Throttle Quad if not included with the pedestal Thanks

First of all, let me start off by saying that I know that these scenery's are not supported for P3D v2. At some of my add on scenery's there are no buildings visible, while the surrounding photo scenery is clearly visible when looking top-down. Does anybody have a clue what could be causing this? It is occuring with Aerosoft Approaching Innsbruck (installed using EMT and at the top of my Scenery Library). The buildings do not show and there are no runway markings visible. I know LOWI is not P3D compatible, but I have read of people succesfully using it... It's also occuring with some airport of the Airport of Norway scenery. I believe these are supposed to be …

Having been a die hard FSX user since it came out, I flew for the first time in Prepar 3D 2.2 this afternoon, it is stunning. Never had so many "wow" moments in a simulator before. You have done an amazing job with this version Lockheed Martin, please keep it up!

Unfortunatly those of us that make use of FSuipc's mouse macros will need to wait for Pete to update the module as some things seem to have changed internally from 2.1 to 2.2. I have been trying to get an answer from ORBX on the floating runways problem in the Northern Rocky Mountian Scenery for a while with no response. I have finally found the solution to the problem myself. I will list the information below; ORBX Runway PROBLEM SOLVED; NOTICE: To find out if you have a problem in the ORBX Northern Rocky Mountains Scenery NRM start up FSX and free flight. Now pick the airport "Stewart" and see if the runway is below the surrounding terrain levels. If so then go to the following steps; Go to the ORBX folder and to the following subfolders \FSX\ORBX\Scripts\Custom.na\OFF folder. You will find a number of .bgl files that all…
