Hello Has anyone had any luck getting a USB monitor to work with P3DV2? I connected my new 9" USB monitor, the game would crash as soon as i try and load into the game (fatal error). It uses displaylink drivers which installed itself once i connected the monitor.

I wanted there to be a topic that focused on these items in V2. The testing I have done so far shows no cpu utilization past 25% on a 4770k @4.7ghz even when the graphics are set low(so not to bottle neck the gpu) and fps set to unlimited. The next item is good and bad, V2 does a much better job at utilizing the gpu, BUT I see no usage out of the second gpu. (I run 2 evga 780 acx sc in sli). If anyone has info of how to get sli to work that would be awesome. Its sad that V2 is STILL not quad core optimized because its is a must have for this game if you want to run AI elements. Ya so I was using DX10 FSX with NVI and my picture was great, but I just installed PPv2.2 and the picture is very blurry, not clear and I dont mean textures not loading. I messed around with AA in the PP3Dv2.2 UI but nothing seems to work, should I disable all that stuff and just use Nvidia inspector? Cheers

So FSPassengers was my favorite addon for FSX. I can't find anything similar that works with P3D. I found REX Latitude, but it doesn't look like what I'm looking for really. Any suggestions?

...anyone try this? ATC painfully slow! I could imagine what would happen if I installed some AI traffic. Thanks

Dear all, I was wondering is you could share airports add-on you have tested that run smoothly under P3D v2.2? For example some the aerosoft airports seem to be struggling (the night lighting compatibility issues) , others have performance problems etc.. Thanks in advance.

I frequently get flashing vertical lines in P3D 2.2 when under high GPU load, especially with cloud shadows enabled. They often appear immediately after panning the view, and only stay there for a fraction of a second, so I can't take a screenshot. I started seeing this problem after upgrading to 2.2 and enabling cloud shadows. I initially thought it might be a problem with my GPU (a GTX670), but since I was about to upgrade it, I didn't spend much time investigating. Hi all, I'm looking at completing the final part of my PC upgrade, which is to replace my GTX 470. I tried P3D v2 when it initially came out, and had less than satisfying performance with my GTX 470. I wasn't able to turn on most of the shadows/visual enhancements, which is one of the major reasons I was interested in P3D. I'm interested to hear from others running the GTX 760 with P3D v2. From what I understand, after reading various posts, is that P3D v2 runs better with more vram. Is this the case? And will a GTX 760 be enough to run P3D with many of the shadows options turned on (terrain, buildings, etc)? I would put this in the hardware forum, but I feel that…

Has anyone managed to used Pilot Edge successfully with P3Dv2? I cannot see that it is supported on their website.

About 20% increase in fps Much smoother with almost no stutters PAN is always smooth same drivers, same conditions, except using professional version of P3DV22 in win8, and academic in win7 which should not make a diff IMO any comments? (not sure if I have windows 8 or 8.1, but its all updated to date)

Hi all, Summary: P3D V2.2 when trying to load, crashes out. It gets as far as the 'loading scenery progress bar' then vanishes from the screen. So I removed V2.1 from my pc and also followed the additional steps to remove the extra folders, as documented here, http://forum.avsim.net/topic/439035-read-me-first-if-you-are-having-v22-issues-follow-these-steps/. I then installed V2.2, following a successful installation I loaded up the sim. Hi all- Recently installed P3D v2.2 and get sound corruption at airports especially while taxiing. I'm using RealTech Sound (on board). I have a sound card coming today thinking it may solve the problem. It occurs only at airports where presumably CPU load is higher. After I get into the air, all's well. Thanks, Mark

Ok, open the AIRCRAFT CFG file and, at the corresponding section ( backup first!!!! ) drop: [brakes] toe_brakes_scale = 1.0 //hydraulic_system_scalar = 1.0 differential_braking_scale = 0.8 parking_brake = 1 or, simply comment the "hydraulic_system_scalar" in your file.

Hi all- I'm not getting any aircraft shadows at KSFO. However, as I'm taxiing, I'll get shadows on the runway line markings as I taxi over them. I'm using the iFly 737 but the behavior still occurs with other aircraft as well. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

Hi, Just configured a new system, 4770K @ 4.5 780Ti 2400mhz cas 10 RAM Orbx Vector + Global REX Was wondering what settings people are using? I'm just getting to grips with 2.2. In track IR itself what are the best settings? In prepar 3D? Vsync on or off? FPS unlimited or not? I have found when set at unlimited I get more fps but track IR is more sttutery or sticky. 33FPS limiter has lower fps but smoother track IR

Hi, i have searched and read several topics on this forum and around the web concerningen the difference between Academic and Professionel License, and all places say there is no difference except the watermark in the top corner... Given that when P3D V2.0, V1.4 users were given no discount, I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the developer vs professional licenses. The professional license at $199, and based on what happened with 2.0, recurs every "big number" version upgrade. The developer license is $9.99 per month, and could just be renewed to the latest version as they are released. So basically, the pro version is a better deal only if we expect that big number releases are more than 20 months apart. Is there any hint so far on when to expect P3D V3.0? I am ignoring the academic license, as I do not qualify, but could conceivably qualify for the developer license. Thank…

I installed P3D v2.1 on a clean system (restore of a complete system backup) and TrackIR does nothing in P3D v2.1! Anyone else here who has the same problem? This is the first time TrackIR simply does nothing in P3D: it worked perfectly (without having to do anything for it) in 2.0!

Folks, I currently have FS Global Ultimate and FS Global 10, along with FTX Global, and I'm wondering if I should purchase FTX Global Vector or UTX. Most of my flights will be PMDG aircraft flying in both the US and Europe, so looking for the best visual bang for my buck. Any advice on which one? Cheers!

Hi, I am running the Academic version of Prepar3D v2 and over at the Prepar3D forums I have recently become aware of the existence of an 'Advanced Weather' window where you can configure the weather in ways similar to FSX. However, I have not been able to locate such a window so I asked the following question: "How do I access the 'Advanced Weather' window? Is it only available in the Professional edition? The Academic version appears to offer only basic capabilities in this area unless, of course, my installation is, in some way, incomplete. Finally ready to upgrade my 570 as the cloud shadows are just a no go with it. I'm looking to buy used in the $300 range. So that leaves me with the following options: 1) 770 4gb 2) 680 4gb Both can be had around the same price. Are they similar enough in v2.2 that I should grab whatever I get cheapest? or I can go AMD with a R9 280x 3gb, which is cheaper but in other games has roughly the same performance as the two cards above.

According to the web site , it's not for entertainment and you're supposed to be either a licenced pilot or student. Is there any truth to this (ie do pthers just buy it for pleasure?). I have X-Plane 10 and am wondering if there's any major improvements in P3D over X-Plane , enough to warant buying yet another flight sim. Txs

I went outside just now and admired the beautiful contrasts made by the shadows of tree branches in the yard So just like P3DV22 VC interior shadows !!! Bravo to Mother Nature for correctly modelling P3DV22 :clapping:
