My GTX 680 just sold for my full asking price so I just upgraded to the 780TISuperclocked. I'll have no video card for about a week until the new one arrives, so I have plenty of time to speculate on what the performance difference will be. I run on only 1 42 inch TV, and I have a small side monitor for GPS, ATC and such. My hypothesis is that it won't be much of a gain, at least when I need it most. With full ORBX add ons, My Traffic, nice addon aircraft etc.... the 680 did pretty well except it heavy urban areas, where FPS could drop into the low teens in some cases. However, my GPU usage was only around 50% or so. In most other cases performance was fine, ev…

Does anyone know a VC camera creating/handling software like EZCA or OpusFSX working with natively Prepar3D (I mean with installer dedicated)? I'll try to explain me better. I own EZCA 1.17 for FSX but it has no native installer for P3D and I don't know if it's really working without error, so my choice would have fallen on OpusFSX. The problem is that Opus has many and many feature and engine weather, but I would only use it for camera views, and I think it's a bit wasted, but it has and installer native for P3D. So do you know domething else expressely designed to work with P3D? Thanks in advance for you support.

Hey Guys, Anyone having any luck with this? I've installed the latest FSUIPC and FSUIPC works with P3D v2.2 no problems but Air Hauler keeps stating that "FSUIPC needs to be installed". I've been on the Mutley Forums but most of the people having this message are running FSX. I've tried with and without Estonia Migration Tool, but to no avail. Seems like something in the configuration or installation process but I wanted to know if anyone else has got it running, again with P3D v2.2 (and hot fix of course). Thanks, Alex

Purposely making this separate from the "Who wants a..." thread, but I see a start-up program for P3D and FSX listed in the Avsim library today. Appears to allow choice of plane, airport, weather and then starts the game. Anyone with P3D tried it out yet and can offer an opinion?

Please bear with me as I am not sure this is the best place to ask this question. I have an SSD where I have loaded my Windows 7 operating system. Based upon Nickn's guide for FSX I am applying the same advice in installing P3D. For this reason I am installing P3D on a separate HDD and not on the same SSD where my operating system is located. I have P3D working so far with TrackIR. However I am unable to load FTX Global. During the installation it does not ask to browse to the location of where you wish to install the software as some software does, rather it defaults to the C:\Program Filesx86. My P3D software is not on the C drive so I am unable to install the Orbx soft…

Before my original post get's a lot of misinterpretation from some users, the main idea is - why not being able to have also Academic versions of add-ons to suite the Academic version of P3D? Those users entitled to buy the Academic version of this sim could then be able to use the sophisticated add-ons sold for the FSX platform, like the PMDG fleet, and other products. Professional versions of this products could still exist, for those with the professional version, but why not a lighter version, probably without any additional cost for users of the FSX version. I do not own P3Dv2, as well as I am not using FSX these days, but I miss being able to use my NGX…

Hi all, Just started up ASN and P3D and found that my altimeter is stuck at 0 until I'm above 500 feet. Kollsman does nothing. On shutting down ASN, altimeter returns to normal operations. Any ideas? thanks, Andrew

Anyone know why PC Pilot don't write much about P3D v2? Seems strange to me that the only magazine about flight simulators doesn't include the latest and arguably greatest sim on the market?

I was watching CNN at lunch yesterday (April 15) and saw rain and wind in Boston (good IFR wx...). Last night I was in P3D v2.2 and ASN, and did the historical weather, April 15, 1800Z, at KBOS. I noted that my fps went down to around 4, the sim was unusable. Quit ASN, the wx reverted to default in P3D, and frames were restored. I'm only running a GTX 580 (3GB), so that may be a part of the issue- I assume this is rain and/or wind, I ran out of time but meant to manually invoke this same wx in P3D and confirm it's not something specific to ASN... Thanks, Bruce.

Hi all just about pulling my hair out at the moment trying to get this to work I have the latest version of aifp2 which is compatible with p3dv2.2 and I've created a very small flightplan to see if I can get it to work. All goes fine in regard to the aifp side of things as far as I can tell and it compiles and sends the bgl file to the world/scenery folder of p3d but that's it when I try to see the ai aircraft in p3d at the test location I get nothing I tried adding the bgl as a scenery file also through scenery manager but that also failed, any ideas on what to try next I've double checked at what level it should be visable and that it should be I've got it at 100 in p3d …

I own My Traffic X 5.4 for FSX. I've also have the migration tool/program. Is there any difference between using the migration tool to install My Traffic to P3D 2.2 versus the P3D My Traffic upgrade?? Thanks!

hi guys. After many, many years of daily simming with FS2004, I have elected to build a completely new PC sim set up. Having purchased a new 64 bit win 8.1 Lenovo X510, I am now ready to migrate to a new sim platform. I have FSX Gold edition but am considering moving up to P3D because its a platform still in active development. heres my question though. I note from the LM site that there are several versions and pricing options for P3D. Im somewhat confused as to which to get. I am not a real world pilot, but do take my simming very seriously and have for years. I fly procedurally the way a RW pilot might. Not as a game. I am not a developer, though ha…

For those using Asn: I need a weather engine and and leanin towards asn. How is it working? I tried the trial with FSX And it's great. Does asn work as well with prepar3d? Do the turbulence features work as well with prepar3d? I like prepar3d so far but what bothers me is there is absolutely no feeling of moving through the air or inertia out of the box

hello since I uninstalled version 2.1 Prepar3D and download version 2.2, I have a fatal error when I want to use VAFS software. I tested with several planes and several airports, but the result is the same. You know this error and you have a solution to offer me? Thank you cordially.

Hi all I do not know what wen wrong with my installation but Playing back a recording does not work : my aircraft stands still, and nothing happens. I just found out this link : http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv2/LearningCenter/getting_started/post_flight_tools/simulation_recording_and_playback.html And it appears I do not have a DefaultRecordAndPlayback.xml (which should be located somewhere in appdata) Could someone please share his DefaultRecordAndPlayback.xml so I can confirm wether my issue comes from the lack of this file or not. Thanks in advance

For me, in KSEA*, the difference between Scenery Complexity @ None/Very Sparse compared to Normal (or higher) is huge. A drop from 50-60fps down to 20 or less (especially when you take off and the cities CDB comes into view). I just don't understand how a few, almost rectangular, buildings have such a huge impact on frames. I can see that my CPU is the bottleneck here, though I would have expected scenery to be offloaded to the GPU. I hope this is an area they can optimize as this is what ruins urban flight for me. I'm almost thinking about upgrading just to get acceptable performance over cities. *Orbx PNW

If you've got one you know the predicament we're in who wish to aspire to SLI. My EVGA GTX Titan was purchased in June 2013, has never been subject to high temps nor overvolting. Rock solid. There is good presumptive evidence Titan won't SLI w/ Titan Black, and Titan is simply not available. I'll buy yours for $700, or you can buy mine for $700. I will plan on changing to Titan Black in the later, in the former be happy to have SLI w/ GTX Titan.
