i have been Browsing the Fourums this morning and have seen much disscussion on FS2004 not working properly.Yesterday i read the post saying that the 8/900 would only be a FS2004 a/c.So i went out and got it online and the postie should be bringing it soon!!!! (: i didnt origionally upgrade as the extra atc and clouds and old planes ill never fly didnt really interest me and with all the fs2002 addons seemed like a lot of hassel to me...if the 800 is as good as we are all seeing then me getting fs9 is a good investment.heres my problem, i read now that a lot of people with good pc's are having big problems with fs9 and i dont want to spend any more money on a programme t…

Trying to install usair express and usairways express, but keep getting error message "Aircraft.cfg could not be opened" and install closes.Can anyone help me fix this?

Greetings,The post requesting a copy of the 737 manual reminded me that the same website mentioned also had a 777 manual. Since most of you know a bit more about the PMDG 737 thenI do let me ask you this? For example: If I am landing at KHDC Hammond on runway 31 I would have to use the approach below (see the approach plate below) I would enter at ZUMMI, go into an approach holding pattern then on to runway 31 and in case of a missed approach I would go on to ZUNEC and hold again till it was time to retry the approach. How cah this be programmed in the FMC or can it even be? I know that in the real world all these approach patterns are programed into the FMC but not so (unless I missed something) with the PMDG FMC. A couple of questoins regarding decending:1) If i'm not cleared to decend before the FMC's decent profiile kicks in, and therefore leave the MCP altitude at my cruise altitude, will the FMC automatically start the decent as soon as I decrese the MCP altitude?2) Why is it that when I DO decrese the MCP altitude DURING a decent, the VNAV mode most shuts off after a few seconds? I find that an alarm sounds after landing when I advance the throttles. I can not determine what it indicates or how to stop it except to close the throttles. Some help would be appreciated.Peter Lowry

I flew non-rev today from Providence, RI to La Guardia, NY on the Colgan Air Saab 340B early this morning today. What a blast! We cruised at 245kias at 8,000ft. Even better yet on the return, I was on a Beech 1900D a few hours ago and I was the only passenger! I asked the Captain if he would leave the doors open in flight and he said "better yet why dont you just come up in the cockpit with us inflight!" So here I am, 16 years old with 60hrs of flight time in real life...riding in the Beech 1900 cockpit (standing up of course)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BOOTH Three arrival into Vancouver has an ATC vector from the BASRA intersection, after ramaining on th e YPK R-260.The FMC left that portion of the path open, and continued with the path to the runway from the FAF.What is the "standard" prodecure regarding the FMC in this case? Here comes a really easy newbie question for you vets out there :)I'm working through Tim Metzinger's great tutorials and I've come to a part where I'm told to change the NAV radio to xxx.xx frequency. But the problem is the NAV Radios won't change frequency. The standby on both NAV1 and NAV2 don't change anything.I know it has to be a switch or something I'm missing. Will there be a good explanation as to the use of these new FMC features? I know you guys will have an updated PDF, but will it thoroughly explain the FMC?For example, what's the difference between soft and hard constraints? Chris

Gentleman,I am personally dissapointed that the 800/900 series will not be compatible with FS2002.Until this message you never mentioned any compatibility issues with the FS2002. Now, just a few weeks before release you simply say - bad luck - it is too complicated to make it work. What were the results of your compatibility investigation before making the compatibility announcement back in 2003 ? At least myself, i spent so much money for FS2002 and i will not do the same again for FS2004, all the tools, sceneries just to be able to use the 800-900 series.Regards, Jens
